Hi Lily!! I love my Brutfuner square, but the Arrtx pencils are my favourite midrange!! The colors from the big set are really nice and different compared with my other sets, so i am happy! I think you need them also 😂😂😂
I had a crappy day at work, which included 8 hours of meetings, and the delight with which I saw a new hour long video was unparalleled! It’s so relaxing watching other people play with things! I didn’t have any energy for a creative outlet, but it scratched some of the same itches! I always think the Arrtx looks a bit different when they go down (though probably biased as that’s what I have)! The Kalour set is tempting but almost feels like too much choice!
I had a crappy day at work today too...must be something in the air! 10h from 9am to 7pm...3 client meetings, 2 internal meetings and no lunch break 😑 I also think the Arrtx are a bit different... a little more pigment...and a little softer...maybe. I like them... still tempted to get the bigger set 😆 And I agree, 300 is a lot of choice! 🥰

I have 12 of the blocks and had to firmly sit on my hands on Prime Day to resist that set, but I’m very curious about how different the pencils feel to the blocks!

It’s just all white branding and goes on more than just between Evazars, Brutfuner, and Kalour. I did suspect Arrtx was one of them for a while but seems it is not based on your tests, good to know that now. My other suspicion is Castle Arts, maybe you try that sometime too. 300 personally is excessive but you could choose to keep that and sell/give the rest away so you have a big variety to use. I find limited palettes are best and has you think out of the box to make the picture work in new ways. A set of 60 or 72 is really quite enough colours to go all round. Thank you for sharing, this was a really good blind review with honest feedback.
Oh definitely, they must have fun in the Brutfuner factory printing new tins and making up new names 😆 The Arrtx do seem a bit different... a bit more pigment...a bit softer... maybe; but there's not much in it. I prefer to use Arteza in Amazon books but I need more colors than what’s in the Arteza set. If the kalour are at all similar then I’d love to get the three count set. Hi. I’ve definitely noticed similarities in my Kalour macarons and the Evazar London. My kalour came really off centered. Now my Arrtx feel a little different to me. The Kalour, Evazar and my Castle Arts Pastel tints all have the same shape, feel and style. The tins are the same as well as the swatch sheets that come with them. Even the smell is the same 😂 the arrtx smell when you first open them but it’s a little different almost a stronger smell but different. The 126 set of Arrtx is definitely worth a buy imo 😊 I also have a pencil problem

They're definitely an extension of the Kalour 180, that tin is pictured on the side of this tin. The great price is the only reason I got them, plus I knew I like Brutfuners so what could go wrong 😆

I bought this set a few months ago and it's the last set of generic pencils I'll buy. I was disappointed with all the breakage when I sharpened them for the colour chart - the first colouring I did with them! Fabulous colour range, though, no denying 😘
Really enjoyed watching your playdate with the kalour. A new tin of pencils is always So nice to open.....which is why I have too many 😂 I haven't been tempted by these But I am really tempted to get my first ever set of Polychromos. I was looking to see if you'd done a video of your opinion on them but couldn't see one ....but I know you said you like them. In your opinion, would you say they'd be worth getting at the price on amazon atm? (ie £1.11 per pencil)
I Hope you don’t mind me replying ; I adore my polychromos. Definitely they are worth the price . I bought a small set to start then added to them with open stock when local art stores had sales .😊

Hello, loved this video. the tate modern would love your installation idea!!!!. i just love watching your vids you are so funny. i look at these but am holding back for the time being as they are so like the brutfuners and am exploring markers at the mo. am awaiting my SN Classiques and have a bundle of 2nd hand promarkers, Although am a bit miffed to find the SN you have to buy ( ok no ones putting a gun to my head but you know what FSS is like ) all the 6 packs to "compliment" the 12 packs - 144 - and thats not the entire spectrum. Not sure if it would be TOO much to get the ohuhu and/or the ARRTX markers? Also just purchased a supply of colouring books, ( THE TONY CLARK ONES FROM AMAZON) and now i have no more room on my shelf. HELP I THINK I HAVE A PROBLEM LOL!!! I have a few kalour sets including the 300 set but I absolutely adore my brutfuner colouring pencils. if I’m ever having trouble or I’m tired there my favourite go to set for colouring, I find they are smoother and more pigmented & in brighter colours & therefore easier to use. I’ve not found anything better yet but yes I’m limited cash wise on what I buy & I don’t own a set of prisma colours yet.🤔 However even in saying that though with light colours & browns when I want to layer I will then pick up a Kalour set, mainly as I’ve only 100 brutfuners and I’ve over 600 plus of the kalour pencils in various sets. I had to giggle though as you reacted the same way I did seeing all the Kolour pencils in there colour order. ❤ I drooled at seeing 300 pencils in there colour order lol!😂 😂😂 & yes it took my breath away with a big sigh which my mare male herd everything from me & he got up out of his chair walked in the kitchen and he cracked up laughing at me at me, nice to know I’m not the only person who reacts to colours that way. I’ve still not coloured my swatch chart but after watching you do your comparison I think I might go through all my coloured pencils and swatch them in winter when I’m cold & need something to concentrate on. Great tutorial I was taught light colours to dark unless you’re shading or highlighting, however sometimes it’s whatever I choose to do on the day. I do find paper quality affects the kalour pencils outcomes sometimes. Have fun and enjoy! Could watch you for a few more hours yet to be honest.😂😂😂 you remind me of me, ha ha!😝 😊 😂 Watercoloring I’ve yet to find a large decent set at the moment I only have a small Derwent set I use.

I bought the 520? set because I just want as many colors as possible. I have not even finished swatching them. I think using them will be a pain because it takes so much room. The pencils I am using at the moment don't usually have the colors I would like though so I hope eventually I will be glad I have them....at least until the only ones left are colors I don't like. lol If I ever use my pencils up it sounds like I will just want the cheapest set of brutfuner I can find though. Yes, because they are the same cores (confirmed to me by the manufacturer). I bought the rounds first, loved them.. and only bought the squares because everyone was raving about them... that's when I realised they were the same.

I have been colouring with my fc polys lately but my wirst hurts bad from it but bruts usually means less pain. I need something softer that isnt prismas cus they are like the same money as a dw lightfast here pretty much but obvously not as good quality. And artxx are not budget they are def midrange. Or i keep collecting the expensive pens and cringe everytime i sharpen them 🙈
Oh thank you for this, l was really eager to know if there's a difference between Kalours and Brutfuners ! I have a proposition for 200 Brutfuners, the round ones but in a plastic holder, they're as good as new because the lady has stopped colouring. The price with the shipping costs would be about 22€. I haven't made my mind up yet, but something tells me l will fall for them 😅 Then l'll need a pencil case too (oops) 🤪 PS : love your humour 😊

I did just nip onto Temu just to see if they still had them on, nope, couldn't find them listed atm. I ordered 50 metallic Kalour though (£16) I'd seen K use the Castle Art metallics on a page and liked the muted colours they gave but I refuse to pay £43 for 50 chinese pencils. x
Yes, I saw the 300 were out of stock on Temu when I tried to get the link. I've not got into metallic pencils at all... even though I have the CA ones... must give them a play! Why pay £43 when you can pay £16... we all know they'll perform the same way 😉
I was going to suggest just using one set and keep the others as back up “open stock” seeing as you can’t get open stock and they are all the same anyway 😂 You know how I feel about cheap Chinese pencils, your pencil play date confirmed as we suspected 😉 and as your “pencil buying conscience” I will tell you that you don’t need any more ❤😂

They are like a work of art. Chelsea you have the perfect pencil collection. Polys for firm Prisma for smoosh and Arteza for the cheaper Chinese contingent 🥰
Yes, it's an extended set, like most pencils, the smaller sets are a subset of the largest set. However, in the case of Arrtx, they changed a couple of colours (some of the yellows were taken out)
All hell will break loose if I compare the rounds to the squares....😂😂😂 Yea, you're an artist. You just skip to the fun part of laying down color. Unlike artists like myself who suffer the initial stages of sketching a subject, prepping the substrates, and sealing the work to prevent smudges or fading. Depending on the media.
I will still stick with getting brands on open stock so I can buy the colours I will use instead of being left with some i will probably never get to. Look ate trying to be all angelic 😂😇😇😇 x Shh Robbie is going to receive a gift dont tell him 🤫shhhhh xx

Thank you for “your opinion”. Much appreciated. You confirmed what I often thought about. ( they are all same). It is so easy to get caught up in the hipe of wanting it all. I have some of the good brands and a few budget friendly brands. I have the red tin of Kalours (180). I really like the Artxx. They color nicely in Maria Trolle books. Thanks again. 💖🇨🇦

Hello, loved this video. the tate modern would love your installation idea!!!!. i just love watching your vids you are so funny. i look at these but am holding back for the time being as they are so like the brutfuners and am exploring markers at the mo. am awaiting my SN Classiques and have a bundle of 2nd hand promarkers, Although am a bit miffed to find the SN you have to buy ( ok no ones putting a gun to my head but you know what FSS is like ) all the 6 packs to "compliment" the 12 packs - 144 - and thats not the entire spectrum. Not sure if it would be TOO much to get the ohuhu and/or the ARRTX markers? Also just purchased a supply of colouring books, ( THE TONY CLARK ONES FROM AMAZON) and now i have no more room on my shelf. HELP I THINK I HAVE A PROBLEM LOL!!! Any ways hope your pooch has recovered, and keep on slurping.!!

I have a few kalour sets including the 300 set but I absolutely adore my brutfuner colouring pencils.
if I’m ever having trouble or I’m tired there my favourite go to set for colouring, I find they are smoother and more pigmented & in brighter colours & therefore easier to use. I’ve not found anything better yet but yes I’m limited cash wise on what I buy & I don’t own a set of prisma colours yet.🤔
However even in saying that though with light colours & browns when I want to layer I will then pick up a Kalour set, mainly as I’ve only 100 brutfuners and I’ve over 600 plus of the kalour pencils in various sets.
I had to giggle though as you reacted the same way I did seeing all the Kolour pencils in there colour order. ❤ I drooled at seeing 300 pencils in there colour order lol!😂 😂😂 & yes it took my breath away with a big sigh which my mare male herd everything from me & he got up out of his chair walked in the kitchen and he cracked up laughing at me at me, nice to know I’m not the only person who reacts to colours that way.
I’ve still not coloured my swatch chart but after watching you do your comparison I think I might go through all my coloured pencils and swatch them in winter when I’m cold & need something to concentrate on.
Great tutorial I was taught light colours to dark unless you’re shading or highlighting, however sometimes it’s whatever I choose to do on the day. I do find paper quality affects the kalour pencils outcomes sometimes. Have fun and enjoy! Could watch you for a few more hours yet to be honest.😂😂😂 you remind me of me, ha ha!😝 😊 😂
Watercoloring I’ve yet to find a large decent set at the moment I only have a small Derwent set I use.
Ooo only just saw this comment. I'm glad you enjoy your Kalour pencils, they are my most underused pencil because the huge box daunts me 😆

I bought the 520? set because I just want as many colors as possible. I have not even finished swatching them. I think using them will be a pain because it takes so much room. The pencils I am using at the moment don't usually have the colors I would like though so I hope eventually I will be glad I have them....at least until the only ones left are colors I don't like. lol If I ever use my pencils up it sounds like I will just want the cheapest set of brutfuner I can find though. Thanks for comparing these for us.

Yes, because they are the same cores (confirmed to me by the manufacturer). I bought the rounds first, loved them.. and only bought the squares because everyone was raving about them... that's when I realised they were the same.
@@ArtJourneyUK so theres a bigger set of them than 120? I am not intrested in the 520 count its just too many pencils. I have been colouring with my fc polys lately but my wirst hurts bad from it but bruts usually means less pain. I need something softer that isnt prismas cus they are like the same money as a dw lightfast here pretty much but obvously not as good quality. And artxx are not budget they are def midrange. Or i keep collecting the expensive pens and cringe everytime i sharpen them 🙈

Oh thank you for this, l was really eager to know if there's a difference between Kalours and Brutfuners ! I have a proposition for 200 Brutfuners, the round ones but in a plastic holder, they're as good as new because the lady has stopped colouring. The price with the shipping costs would be about 22€.
I haven't made my mind up yet, but something tells me l will fall for them 😅
Then l'll need a pencil case too (oops) 🤪

@@ArtJourneyUK I heard someone say they were made by StarJoy but I don’t use them often. I love my Kalour 180 red tin. They have great pigmentation and blend well on ‘most’ paper😏

Oooh, I'm still tempted just for the sheer amount of purples but I know I'd never use any of the other pencils lol. I did just nip onto Temu just to see if they still had them on, nope, couldn't find them listed atm. I ordered 50 metallic Kalour though (£16) I'd seen K use the Castle Art metallics on a page and liked the muted colours they gave but I refuse to pay £43 for 50 chinese pencils. x
Yes, I saw the 300 were out of stock on Temu when I tried to get the link. I've not got into metallic pencils at all... even though I have the CA ones... must give them a play! Why pay £43 when you can pay £16... we all know they'll perform the same way 😉
I was going to suggest just using one set and keep the others as back up “open stock” seeing as you can’t get open stock and they are all the same anyway 😂 You know how I feel about cheap Chinese pencils, your pencil play date confirmed as we suspected 😉 and as your “pencil buying conscience” I will tell you that you don’t need any more ❤😂

Oh yay omg look at those pencils 😍🤤 especially those first few trays and the purples beautiful have me tempted just for the sheer beauty of the colours but I know I don't need them so I will just watch and admire on screen I have my arteza pencils which are just a varied version of all of these more affordable pencils and I love my prismas and polys so I'm good I have to tell myself anyway haha really enjoyed as always 💜💜💜💜
They are like a work of art. Chelsea you have the perfect pencil collection. Polys for firm Prisma for smoosh and Arteza for the cheaper Chinese contingent 🥰
Nope not the bigger set of ARRTX, I learnt the expensive way. The 126 contains the 72 set. I was disappointed.
Yes, it's an extended set, like most pencils, the smaller sets are a subset of the largest set. However, in the case of Arrtx, they changed a couple of colours (some of the yellows were taken out)

All hell will break loose if I compare the rounds to the squares....😂😂😂 Yea, you're an artist. You just skip to the fun part of laying down color. Unlike artists like myself who suffer the initial stages of sketching a subject, prepping the substrates, and sealing the work to prevent smudges or fading. Depending on the media.
