Depending on the state legislation an optometrist can prescribe certain medications.from basic eye test to pre-operative care and also post operative was done an optometrist if anyone do their further studies the scope practice increases.optometrist have specialist to choose in their master like contact lens,geriatrics,pediatrics,sports vision,neuro optometry,occupational optometry e.t.c.pls try to give detailed info.

Math is not a Important subject but physics and chemistry and Biology is VVIP 😊😊
It has good scope provided it is done from a good institute attached to a good eye care hospital. Sky is the limit if you can start your own clinic and/ provide freelancing services.

1. Any medical and allied courses ought to be followed by PG with specialization to earn good, this is the case even after MBBS.
2. In Optometry you can specialize either by pursuing PG Diploma/ Fellowship/ M.Optom

Do you have to do an neet exam for an eye doctor?
To become an ophthalmologist (eye doctor) one has to complete DO/ MS/ DNB in Ophthalmology post MBBS (or) PG Diploma/ MS in Netra Roga Vigyan post BAMS, so yes NEET is mandatory to pursue MBBS/ BAMS, but NEET is not mandatory to become an Optometrist

Both the courses have equal scope in terms of employment, but pursuing it from an institution attached to a good hospital is very important.
Note:
1. Any medical and allied courses ought to be followed by PG with specialization to earn good, this is the case even after MBBS.
2. In case of Optometry you can specialize either by pursuing PG Diploma/ Fellowship/ M.Optom.
3. You have to hire a radiologist with DNB/ MD in Radiology to start your own centre, also it requires huge investment, but you are not required to hire an ophthalmologist to start your own optometry clinic, also it doesn't require huge investment like radiology centre, you can provide freelancing services as well.
