my hard contact lenses used to fall out from time to time and i didnt have anything to wash them with, yes i did this sometimes, if i dont have them on im blind

I guess they're relatively safe if handled, worn, sized etc. correctly. However, no matter what any opthamologist says....I think it's unnatural to put an object in/on your eyeballs. Hopefully I'm not creeping you out, I just prefer glasses even though they have their drawbacks.👓
Who does this? I take my lenses out if I’m going near water. I bring solution in the case and my pair of glasses if I gotta pop them out. I usually wear them when I exercise or go out for few hours. Always clean them with hydrogen peroxide solution at bedtime, store them in the same solution for no more 96hrs… always clean my hands before touching my lenses or eyes.
I don't know what to do anymore. Literally everything I feel I'm doing correctly is stated otherwise by The Doctors. I should stop watching this show before I live in fear.
Or just listen to your doctor and have common sense…

I wear contacts. Before I bought them, I consulted and researched. Wearing contacts is a responsibility. It involves your eyes, your sight.
So why would anyone clean their contact lenses with water or their mouth? I was really shocked with this video, I had to scroll to read comments. Hahahah
yeah same. i got contacts at 18 and did months of research beforehand. i think what happens is people get contacts when theyre really young and apparently never learned the concept of responsibility

wtf people go swimming with contacts?? I took a shower once with them on because i forgot to take them out, and they got stuck to my eyes because of the water. I had to scrape them off my eyes. How the heck do people go swimming with contacts on???

Don’t scrape them off. They’ll scratch your eyes. Put solution in your eyes and wait a few minutes they’ll loosen

It happnened to me after 19 years of wearing contacts/ But it is pseudomonas and had that was because of overnight sleeping with lenses.

If I wear one contact in and one out I will loose my balance and ruin my eye sight
Funny thing is that I discovered which part of my brain is better with spacial acuity by having one in and the other out. It was funny how my outward appearance and efficiency of finding it location objects around me changed. I’m left eye dominant, but my right eye processes objects and things around me. I feel better with the contact in the left than the right, but if I just out it in my right, my hand eye coordination and facial recognition become slower, but I can locate inanimate objects faster
You will not ruin your eyesight. I wear 1 contact every single day on my good eye and no contact on my bad blurry eye

I clean my contact lenses so good with the solution [+ washing my hands ] and I make sure that I am wearing it the correct way not inside out and still it feel uncomfortable!.....why ?!
I just started wearing contact lenses, but it will feel uncomfortable sometimes if your eyes are dry. Just add a few drops of multipurpose solution in your eyes with the contacts in and it will feel better. I use Acuvue Revitalens.
Usually after putting my contacts in I use some eye drops and they feel fine
My eye doctor said that I can use a shower with my contacts in. With the pool, he said, that if I didn't want to swim and just wade around I could wear them but if I wanted to swim I could either wear goggles or take them out.
Never shower with contacts. Why even risk it?

Hi Doctor I went to optometrist yesterday for contact exam but he said due to need custom contact lenses, he couldn't give my prescription and that I would need get the contacts from them for me to get a prescription. Doctor isn't the optometrist mandated to give me my prescription after all I paid 150$. Is you can please advise me. I found the contacts online for much cheaper yet his manager said I couldn't order these online. I am a -8.00 in glasses with very high astigmatism. The hard contacts are cheaper option for me then soft contacts.

These kind of things are what give contacts a bad rep. I've been wearing them for 3 years I'm fine. If ya knw how to correctly wear and store them this won't be the case. Ovyasly these ppl didn't read instructions carefully so what'd ya expect. These always make headlines but it's a small stupid minority compared to those who are fine.

washing your contacts in water is is like turning you contacts into sand paper lmao... even opening my eyes in water with chlorine (without contacts is dry and painful) bad idea.... the saliva thing lmao im guilty of lmao... one day my contact fell out and i caught it in my hand before it hit to floor lmao it was too dry to put it in my eye alone and i didnt have any contact solution so i did uses spit lmao... nasty i know but damn i was all out of options ok lol and there was no one to drive me home lmao

Kenneth Demming Be careful if your eye is injured or scratched, wash with an eyewash in a can if that is the case. Otherwise, normal exposure to tap water in the shower is not going to harm your eyes, don't fall for propaganda.

I wear RGPs and I always wear them in the shower, so I can see what I’m doing. As having keratoconus I have no choice. BUT i won’t open my eyes against the water since my contacts will pop out. (200$ each)
When I put them in their case I rinse them with water then clean them with disinfectant, then apply solution in the case.

Same here i have keratoconus an i shower with them in an everyday after putting contacts in i rinse out the old solution with water an let them dry untill i remove my contacts out for bed an put them in clean solution but i dont know if using disinfectant is a good idea to clean out container though.
