I use a Moog! and will defend digital synths! they are great! I just ordered a mini freak :) they a Have their place and it’s a great time to have synths like this! When I was a teen! You would need a lot of money to buy a big heavy synth with cool sounds!!! which I could never afford :) stuff like the Roland D50, a Juno or wave station! Only the adults with money could afford them! Todays stuff has such a vast range of company’s, prices etc! I also love those pocket operators by teenage engineering! And the Korg Volcas! I look forward to hooking some of these up to the mini freak! It’s all good and fun! I always say, if it makes a sound, you can do something with it :)
@@GEOSynths Hey Jamie...yeah, things are good, health being the main thing. Just busier with "what pays the rent" than I'd like to be, but so it goes. All seems good with you (based on videos and the guesting on "Sonicstate"). Do keep up the great work...very much appreciate that you "keep it real". Cheers!
I want to get this but I have so many problems with my microfreak with midi I even emailed the company did what they said still nothing and updated the firmware which is updated and now the the screen freezes up so I'm passing up on this one I really like the microfreak but don't want to take any chances
Both quite different, there's certainly more scope to make diverse sounds on the MiniFreak due to the huge range of Oscillator Types. The DM12 does have more voices and the FX and Processing is better, but of course, it's hardware only.
@@GEOSynths sounds like a winner (literally and metaphorically). I use Arturia controllers, but don't have a feel for their synths. Is this synth similar to their expensive flagship synths? Or is it something new and different?
THE MINIFREAK SOUNDS TOO DIGITAL. Everybody is free to say whatever they want. Are you going to cancel anyone who doesn't think like you? Are you crazy? Visit an audiologist and then go take your meds, you aggressive FREAK.
I have never understood this myself, it just sound's the way it sounds. One can take it or leave it. Personally I think it has a lot to offer and will buy one before too long.
you really designed some beautiful patches. Had mine for a couple weeks and it has all the character and texture I could ever want in a synth
Your patches on any synth seem great, similar to each other almost , which is a good thing. Very nice!
Minifreak is a "getting the job done... and quite well" synth, that is a great value. Lots of character. Arturia are on a roll!

Such a healthy and realistic attitude. I agree, these thing's are to enjoy and have fun with at the end of the day. Purism doesn't get any music made.
Lots of great stuff here!
Cheers Jay, how things? Be great to get you bacon the Show sometime :)
@@GEOSynths Happy to be on the show whenever! Just send me a message. Things are good!
Two of the most talented synth musicians talking here ❤
Amazing sounds on a great v synth.
Very interesting, thank you for sharing.
Dope patches! Please bring Hydrasynth to your room. 😊
wow these patches are amazing.
Nice synth, nice patches, and nice playing to highlight those patches...
Cheers, hope you're doing well?

Great patches. I hope these can work with the Minifreak V
What your hearing is Minifreak V, I’m just using the hardware as a controller
@@GEOSynths Jeezus - it says that in the title. derp. Wait while I clean my glasses
Great sounds
Nice presets.
Sounds good for a digi head synth.

It sounds good. How does it compare to DM12?
Well, DM12 is Behringer.

How can anyone say the Minifreak sounds "too digital?". Idiots.

What has really surprised me is how good it is at old String Synths, for that gritty textured ensemble...It certainly punches above its weight.
