Every other Monday I used to open at a VERY busy retail pharmacy, and I dealt with EVERYTHING seen in this video. I would start to stress out about it the night before, as I KNEW I would be walking into a s@@tstorm . With the pharmacy opening at 8am, and no tech help till 9am, in a matter of minutes I would be overwhelmed with phone calls, and people at the registers and drive thru. That I survived doing this for as long as I did amazes me! THANKS, Dr Shaw, for telling it like it STILL is !!
@@cindyspears5323 I left the profession after more than 35 years as a retail chain pharmacist. I had planned to work another 3-4 years, but had reached my limit of stress and anxiety. Best decision I ever made. Good luck to you, I hope you can figure things out.
I have literally had that floater, spend the entire shift chasing down everything from where is the entire three shelves of amox clav to where is a pen, where is the stapler, where are the pharmacy bags, etc
I’m an ops manager who occasionally helps pharmacy out, I had to do Covid testing/drive thru pick up for a week cause the designated person was out on vacation for the week. In that one week I felt everything in this video omg. Gave me a whole new level of respect for my pharmacy team and never will I complain when they sent people up front to be let in the bathroom!!
So infuriating!!! All of this is too accurate! This is why i got out the pharmacy tech game. I left in February 2020....right before the pandemic! I still advocate for tech and pharmacist unions tho!
I love this Maurice! Can I make a suggestion for content in an upcoming episode? When people go to the consultation window to jump the line for a vaccine! My biggest pet peeve ever! Or when people call in and ask you to "hold on a second or when they stand at the counter and huff and puff when you acknowledge them when you're running around and then when you help them in no time at all they hold up the line because they count their change out so slow! Just wondering if these are things you would do in the future!
@@rxcomedyLOL I call drive thru "At the corner of dumb and stupid". How are you gonna ask me to fill a prescription when you don't know what it's for, from which Dr you got it, when you got it or the name of the drug? Sorry I really can't help you. I didn't know people were this stupid until I started working as a tech. Ps Dr's aren't any better. Deplorable handwriting, missing dosage and or strength. Strength of drugs that don't exist, missing name and or date of birth or totally wrong name, partial name of drugs and the list goes on
pet peeve? talk about pets in the rx. thats right, pets not service animals. one pooped in front of my rx. one customer verbally berated the heck outta the owner buuut..,the owner was self righteous with a jersey accent. Heck it was like a live show....where I had to be like the back stage staff and clean it. pulled up the carpet tile and threw that the heck out. permission for this to be an episode
Love it! How about "fill everything. No I don't know the names or rx numbers, it's on my file what I get" . And if we do fill everything no I don't need that!
I have straight up pretended to be a pharmacist when another tech has said the person insisted on speaking to a pharmacist. I put their refill in the system. 🤣
The Maurice puppet is so damn cute. I want one. LOL. My late step-dad was a pharmacist. He would have loved your channel, my dude. Except bleepin' CoVid got to him and decided the world needed one less competent pharmacist. 😞 But, these give me the laughs I need to get through all that. Thanks man!
At the pharmacy I used to work at we had a pharmacy tech come in every morning at 7:00am (we opened at 8:00am) to get the tills turned on, computers on, stuff cleaned up from the night before, and get started filling Rxs. It was a great system. Now the pharmacist starts at 8:00am - but patients are coming in before the computers are even turned on, people are in the drive-thru, and she literally can’t get the first patient served until 9:00 am when the first tech shows up. I know that they are cutting back on staff - but you shouldn’t be wasting a pharmacists time turning on computers and opening the OTC cabinets. You could pay a tech 1/2 of what the pharmacist makes to do all that work.
I love how you talk about subscriptions. Every time someone asks for the pharmacist you should say "pharmist" or when they call and ask to talk to the pharmacy (meaning pharmacist)
Omg the old guy on the voicemail is too accurate I audibly sighed.
If it weren't for the puppets, I'd think this is just taping of my everyday life!
Exactly!!
The one dislike is that one person who has to talk to the pharmacist for everything.

Can I ask what you’re doing currently? Lol I need guidance

OMG! This is my life! 🙈At last! Someone who finally speaks the truth for us pharmos! Love your work! 😀

I don't know whether to laugh hysterically or cry because your skits are so true.

Hey Reece, you are totally making a huge difference in pharmacy. And if retail pharmacy changes, it'll be due to your efforts. Thank you sir.

I have straight up pretended to be a pharmacist when another tech has said the person insisted on speaking to a pharmacist. I put their refill in the system. 🤣

The floater note is legit tho
At my old job, I dreaded calling the pharmacy, especially CVS.

Omg my life everyday. Great job 👏 🤣🤣
8:32 I've basically resorted to just flipping a coin lol
I'm a 'first come, first serve' type of person.
omg it's sad how accurate this is
Iam a pharmacy technician I just heard that ALL Insulin is 35$ now So ashamed they should be
WOOOOOOOOO PHARMACCYY
This whole episode is the first 30 minutes after opening the pharmacy.
$20 an hour is not enough
Where you get the shirt from!!!

When I heard the “one pharmacy call”,my PTSD started acting up. 9 years of CVSTRESS;worst company I’ve ever worked for.
If your want pseudoephedrine in Oregon you need a prescription

Can you order the puppets from pharmacy street.
On Etsy
omeprazoli... lol
Whats the worst thing a pharmacist and tech hate other than tough customers. Answer: another pharmacist or tech who is just really bad at their job.
So accurate, it hurts!
