You've already found out at first place (0:30) that x must be non negative. Therefore, there was absolutely no need to verify the case: x = - 5 .

x^2+3x-10=0
x1;2= (- b +or - √∆)\2a
∆=b^2 - 4ac = 9 - 4•1(-10) =
= 9 + 40 = 49
x1= (- 3 +7)/2 = 2 ✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻
x2= (-3 - 7)/2 = - 10/2 = -5 ✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻
