Nice info fam. I have that same F50 body for my Arrma Felony. I see you had clear tape on the wing. I had trouble with that as well and I put doubled sided adhesive tape in between and its solid as 🪨 🎸 🤘 I also received my Hobao extreme roller yesterday and you have a pretty unique setup.
mr. liberty francis, where did you pickup that quick release body mount? do you have a link or a specific description of that part? thank you for your pro's & con's of this hobao vte-2 rc car. it is greatly appreciated.
I completely agree with you with good reason. I do not have a HOBAO but I’ve imagined working on one.. seems all the things it needs are what already exists on the ARRMA platform. If anything… the limitless is already the most equipped and capable rc platform, and nothing beats it once it’s modded further. Seems there’s almost nooo room left for another company to do better than the ARRMA platform while avoiding copying their platform.
I do prefer the vte2 for a top tier speed runner. It has bigger input bearings and diff input shafts are 8mm. Also no front kick up angle means the center shafts are better aligned. Overall it's my favorite 1/7
The reason all those chassis are cut at an angle at the wheels and not straight is because these are just buggy chassis with different wheels/shocks for on road. The buggy wheels are wider/bigger and need that space. That's why all the 1/8 on road cars look like they got squished, because they're just 1/8 buggys with on road wheels.
NOT TRUE AT ALL. the GTB is converted buggy chassis - its raised in the front. the VTE & VTE2 are 100% flat they are made for the track. I wish dudes knew what they are talking about
@@jdodds1023 when making parts its more cost effective to use the same stamp and simply add a bend than making a completely different mold/tooling to keep it cost effective. I wish dudes knew what they were talking about.
Great video! Just subbed! I don't think you will like those tires. My Infraction wouldn't hook with those. I went with GRP ultra soft XB. Also got some amazon specials, and they rock. The amazons are real rubber, and hook. They just need glued. Got long winded. Great video.
For that F50 Delta body - I have one myself - just order the optional hobao posts - they have two extended ones that work perfectly for the front two posts.
For mine they line up with the hood vents rather than a flat spot. I installed the rear Arrma body post today and they bolt right on and work much better. I am going to try the front soon also mounted to the shock tower after re-positioning the upper shock placement.
Does that chassis have different gearing front and rear? The reason I ask is I thought those powerhobby tires were setup for the felony where the rears were taller than the fronts. Awesome build and really dig that Ferrari body
hi great vid..! are those wheels reted for speed runs 150 mph like the GRP ? ...dors this hobao has the same lenght between wheels as the limitless or is it wider ? thanks .
I have no clue. I know Hobao is releasing v2 versions of their Lineup this year. Probably will be best to wait on an offroad model for that conversion.
From what I heard this car had a lot of input from guys that drag race not to say people won't pull off some good numbers with speed runs but it is more so a drag car
I've owned a lot of hobao's... and their quality is always excellent. Especially in drivetrain and differentials, so I wouldn't worry about their aluminum being not good quality. However I am most disappointed about not being able to fit castle 17 series motors in the car at all... with the 1/5 scale mount also... doesn't fit. Really a bummer. Always have had to cut down the body mounts when installing custom body, that is nothing new, with the VT 1 the body sat a little higher in the back. Overall I love almost everything about the car, except the damn motor mount.
@@1521joe so any 56mm motor will fit in the 1/5 mount... however the 17 series will not fit the holes in that mount, and when put on the normal mount, it doesn't go in because it hits the chassis. Just try it, and you will see what I'm talking about
@@Liberty.Francis owh i see, would the castle xls 2028 will be fitted too using the stock motor mount? I havent purchase the vte2, just need to prepare the necessary compatible power system for it
How do you like those powerhobby gripper tires the front and rear are they the same size front and rears as far as height over all I wanted to put that same size on my infraction V2 6s was worried about having to change the gearing in the diffs???? Would appreciate some feedback
Being all the same size is nice. Also a great option to fit wide bodies like the one I used. They are just ok. Grip is less than GRP and I don't trust these tires above 80mph. I use them mostly for my shelf queen Lambo body
@@Liberty.Francis hi Liberty. thanks for the updates on this build. i got a question- Ive flipped the mount just like yours, im running my ESC on the other side of the chassis, and ive moved my RX box to the other side, however, im using the Big block mount, and have a 5687 motor my ratio is 1:1 34/34 i cant tighten the motor bolts, the 34t pin get in the way, because the motor is 5687 i need a pinion that gone reach the 34t spur. Any ideas? thanks man.
@@1521joe you will have to figure out where the position is to mesh well. Pull the pinion, tighten the motor screws and the do a final install of the pinion. Not ideal but that's how those mounts work.
I agree 👍
Still the best 1/7 platform out there. Love the VTE2
Libertyyyyyy, can't wait to see this on the road. Thanks for the many good ideas.
Check out my other videos. I have run this car a good bit
great video thx for the info and sharing btw Scorched Roto-Lock mount can take up to 49mm 17 series

The power hobby tires are 100mm tall front and rear. Works for regular rc cars that want to use Felony style bodies
Thanks for sharing all this. What wheels are those front/rear? Do the rear ones widen the rear as if there was some offset?
Power hobby makes them. Makes a regular car fit the felony bodies.
Nice review and accurate. Thanks
Build looking good.
Looking at those front upper arms and I'm wondering if they'll fit on an Arrma? With the way they're angled would they pull out some caster?
Probably could with some spacers.

I believe all the specs if the Limitless is very similar.
Not good to 150. Likely not over 100
Do you think it's possible to put some hobao hyper mt aarms and shock towers on it? To make a nice monster truck?
I have no clue.

To keep more looking of body try velcro or magnets even

Out of the box it's actually 2 deg toe in
Did you have to use the washers to put the grippers on your car
No just mounted straight on without issues.

I used Proline body mount set
What size washer did you use to shime the wheels
I ended up not shimming them. Some slop was in the knuckle pivot balls, but the rest I have left and not been an issue...
Try green loctite on those wheel nuts instead of blue or red.
Using the Arrma wheel nut I had zero issues. This video is pretty old. Check out some of my other videos on this car doing speed runs 👍

This is a 40mm tp motor so I am using the original mount. Just had to drill the m3 sized holes for my m4 screws to mount the motor.
