I don't think that they let her go. 4MINUTE warned us that if the 'Hate' comeback didn't do well, they would disband. CUBE probably told them that. Hate didn't do that well, so, CUBE felt like 4MINUTE didn't earn any money to the company. When they wanted to renew, CUBE didn't let them, only HyunA. Because HyunA is more popular than 4MINUTE. This is based on comments that I've read. And from articles from Allkpop
Maybe if Cube had made a real effort to market the girls, they would have made a lot of money for Act 7. Its a freakin' great album. Hate was awesome. Canvas was glorious. The rest of the album was just ... right. BUT ... it needed the right marketing to get sales - especially sales OUTSIDE Korea which is where 4minute is more popular anyway ... which seems to be something that Cube has zero interest in doing.
I don't know anything about Sidus HQ. I've never even heard of them until now, but I'd say they're just as responsible as CUBE. Either way, they both fucked up. I'm just happy that Jiyoon was able to move on and find a company that lets her do her own thing. :)

I think the light eye make up play a big role, and the song that doesn't need her to scream like she always did in 4m. this is so different, unexpected, and I really like it!! I was surprised by this. When I heard she was gonna release an album I thought her title song would be hiphop song and I was like meh. actually I never expected something good if it was hiphop and honestly I didn't really like her screaming singing voice. They have so much potential to shine. I wish people could give her more recognition. Everyone's so focused on Hyuna that they don't realize there's another amazing and multi talented artist who deserves more love. I don't know much about Jiyoon, but I remember admiring her in 4minute MV's from time to time. However, her solo debut has sparked a deep interest in me, and I really want to support. Her voice is so beautiful and powerful, it gripped my heart. I'm so glad she signed with this company, because this music video is visually stunning & well directed.
