Thank you for the video, made install easy. My worst part was I have cheap tools for take the tabs off, that was literally the hardest part, I"m doing a side by side photo, video tonight . I only installed one side to do a direct side by side comparison. I'm excited to see them at night . Looks great even in the daytime and wow. how much more beefy the construction is compared to the oem that I removed.
The T-tap simply taps into another power signal, such as your DRL power wire, so when your factory DRLs turn on, the backlights will turn on as well with no need to have a switch to turn them on manually! We hope that helps!
I have 2021 Crosstrek outdoor too but could you show how far the light will throw with the LED compared to stock. Because I want to see better at night.
This is an awesome video. I was just curious if this is the same to most Subarus. I have a Subaru Ascent and just wandering where is the best place to tap the blacklighting wiring. I tried looking around but the Ascent doesn't have the same parking lights. Any help is appreciated.

What are the differences/benefits of these versus the SS3 fogs. Looking to upgrade on a 2023 Special Edition (Premium) away from the halogen fog lights, ideally which ever is brighter. It seems like these are rated at a higher lux than the SS3 sport fogs but I might be mistaken.
The Elite Series offers a more clean OEM+ appearance that resembles a high end factory fog light, with twice the performance and features! The benefit of the SS3 Fog lights, you can upgrade the power level further with either our Pro or Max power levels, giving you the brightest road legal output possible!
I wish you guys would show the performance of these on the road AT NIGHT. I understand these are promo videos but it would be a lot more informative if we see their real world usage.
Hey JR! These are designed to give you a huge performance upgrade over your factory fog lights while maintaining a clean OE-like look. These are comparable in output to the SS3 Sport! If you want a clean look and a performance upgrade, these are a great option. If you're looking for purely performance, SS3 is the way to go!
I want to buy these but I don't know if I need the 5202 DT 4-Pin Backlight Tap Wire Kit - Converts a factory PSX24W or 5202-size connector into a DT Deutsch connector. Includes backlight tap wire. It's for my 2021 Crosstrek. Do I need the additional wire kit?
We apologize for the confusion. For the Crosstrek, you will need to add the 5202 connector backlight wire adapter harness to the order. Sorry about that!
Unfortunately, we do not offer Elite Series for them at this time. However, we do offer SS3 Fog Light Kits for them! www.diodedynamics.com/ss3-led-fog-light-kit-for-2013-2019-subaru-outback.html
Hey Mike! We've been using T-taps on some of our personal vehicles for years with no issues. However, the connection can always be soldered if you have the means to do so!

We're glad you like them! How did the comparison turn out?
How does the t tap work? What does it do? Can you explain it better? I don't understand that part.

This is useful even when replacing the fog lights with a different brand.

Hey there! We will definitely be releasing some more output shots of these soon!
It is shown at night. Only that when they are on, night turns into a day.
Will this work 2024 crosstrek?
We have not yet had a 2024 in the engineering garage yet to confirm fitment. Stay tuned for more information on those kits!
I wish I could have a look into SAE lighting regulations. there always seems to be so much that is allowed
Hey is this brighter then oem Subaru wilderness?
These lamps provide a significant increase in performance over any factory fog lamp!
Looking forward to the 2024 🫣
ramps make the job easier. but good to know it is "that easy" elite series = classy; ss3 = adventurous
Benefit of this vs SS3? I prefer the aesthetic of the SS3, but I'm wondering if there are any big performance or feature differences?

@@diodedynamics Thanks for the response! You guys are really killing it. I'll be getting the SS3 fogs and some matching ditch lights!

The Elite Series Fog Lamps kit comes with all the needed wiring to install the lights properly!
We apologize for the confusion. For the Crosstrek, you will need to add the 5202 connector backlight wire adapter harness to the order. Sorry about that!
Regarding the Backlight, can you order the lights without that wire/option?
Hey Steve! They all come standard with a backlight. However, you can choose to not run the backlight wire and the fogs will function normally!
@@diodedynamics Thank you for the information!!
@@steve_ks Our pleasure!
What’s the point of a backlight tap?
What does it do?
Made in USA baby!
Do we have fitment for a 2018 outback?

@@diodedynamics hopefully a type OB bracket is in the works! Really love the oem look and sharpness of the Elite series!
please please no T taps the will rot away. awesome product!!!

@@diodedynamics they rot like crazy in the north east I’d use them all the time if I could😀
That crisp top line needs to go away. When I put fogs on I want to see everything not a stupid line.
