  • In this video I show two methods of making a manual pulse button for the Co2 Laser, to enable you to pulse the laser for mirror alignment without needing to pulse from the Laser Control Panel. This allows for quicker alignment and less walking around the laser machine. IMPORTANT: Proper safety precautions should be used including Protective Eye Glasses when using the Co2 Laser Machine.

The 1st Method shown uses a potentiometer, enabling you to safely set the laser power to low milliamps for mirror alignment, and also features a safety switch to disable the momentary switch to prevent accidental pulsing of the laser tube.
The 2nd method only provides 100% laser power and does not include a safety protection switch. Extreme care should be taken when using this method, and MW Laser will not be held liable for any personal injury or equipment failure or damage.

The only thing I would do different is to use the 2nd momentary switch instead of a toggle switch . A toggle switch has a perminent state and it can be overlooked, where a 2nd momentary switch would require you to push both buttons And automatically reset to fail safe.

Hi, sorry for my question but I wonder how this is working without any power inside the box?
I mean the potentiometer is supposed to deliver a current between 0 and 5V to the PSU where does it find its power source?
Also is it possible to cable this with the ruida at all time (don't want to disconnect the PSU connector each time I want to test pulse the laser).
Thank you for your videos. Cheers

it does not require an alternate power source.
it is not designed to be used in conjunction with the controller, one must disconnect controller before using this device.

If i had a water flow sensor already installed, do i still need to jumper the WP to G to make one of these?

If you are removing the existing "phoenix" (green connector) and making a new one for the pulse button. Then yes you do need to use the jumper wire. Your other alternative is to wire the water flow sensor in it's place.

I have tried this, as well as used the test button on the psu, neither actually fire the laser though. The leds indicate it should be firing. The laser works fine as I can pulse it using the 6445 controller. Any thoughts? I have done continuity tests ensuring proper connectivity.
