Kintaro is not afraid to approach Momotaro or play near Momotaro.
Momotaro sometimes feels annoyed at it and scolds him a little, but Kintaro doesn't mind being scolded a little and stays near Momotaro.

⭐️モモタロウ Momotaro ♂(2000/7/3)
momotaro was born at Ueno zoo in Tokyo on jul.3,2000 and came to our zoo on Oct.18,2010.
He is beautiful and handsome ,the silverback of our troop.
He is a little timid,and scared of new things.
He sometimes shows lovely behaviors that melt our hearts.
He is making efforts to be a good dad for his two sons.
⭐️ゲンキ Genki ♀(1986/6/24)
Genki was born at our zoo on Jun,24,1986.
After mating with several males without a pregnancy she found her perfect partner.Momotaro.
Now she is a loving and caring mom for her two sons.
She sometimes behaves boldly,yet she can also be sensitive.
Genki has a cute face with shining eyes.
⭐️ゲンタロウ Gentaro ♂(2011/12/21))
Gentaro was born at our zoo on Dec.21,2011,as Momotaro and Genki's first son.
Unfortunately Genki didn't have enough milk,so he was nursed by keepers for his first 10.5 months.
Now he loves his mom,and his face really looks like her.
He also loves people .
Everyone immediately agrees that he is a very adorable boy.
⭐️キンタロウ Kintaro ♂(2018/12/19)
Kintaro was born at our zoo on Dec.19,2018.
He has big bright eyes and long eyebrows.
He is growing fine ,being loved by his parents and brother.
He love to play by himself,with his father.
He is still small, but smart and strong-willed.
His cute appearance and behavior attract everyone's interest.

Wouldn't it be wonderful to see Momotaro and his family in the wild in a dense lush Forrest?

When Annie was born she was raised for the first year by zoo keepers to keep her alive. When she returned to the Shaman troop her mom did not recognize her. Shaman the silverback watched over her and plays with her. That is his princess. Shabani is an unsual silverback. Beautiful and amazing.
It must be hell to wake up in the same place everyday with no forests to explore. I still believe these animals need daily activities to keep them stimulated.
At least they are protected and still have their hands and feet and head..or would you prefer to see them in a pot?
Same here. They go and leave the place where they spent the night at morning, and they do not come back again.
They follow their Silverback to a new tree with lots of food, make fresh nests, than eat as long and as much they want. Lay in their nests, sleep, eat, doze and enjoy the world.
On the evening they built fresh nests for the night, eat again and go to sleep.
They need trees nd free wild space. I read from the former Zoo how much Momotaro enjoys to climb in trees.
Now compare to this enclosure. It is so sad.
Their home is not only here.
They also have a subground. They also have several rooms, and they can come and go.
It may not be a forest.
The keeper is planting trees, but the Momotaro family eats them.
Indoors, they also study numbers on the touch panel.
Gentaro remembers the numbers very well.

He really loves his daddy but not sure if daddy loves him all that much 😊
His daddy loves him. He is socially awkward and lhaving been on his own since 6 years of age. Mom taken from him for breeding purposes, dad died before he was born and not socialized with female or male gorillas. Genki and his boys teach him how to be a dad and a gorilla. Sad but I am happy he has Genki and his sons. I read somewhere that hot many female gorillas could take on Momotaro. It seems they all have a history of some kind of separation and trauma. This is the downside to zoos.. Families separated and whoever owns the gorilla makes the decisions. I just hope this family can stay together as long as possible.
