I’m 55, but really new to makeup-I wore very little of it for the last 20 years at least, and didn’t do much before that, so I’m learning a lot right now. I started by buying a NARS palette that was half off because it was being discontinued and I wanted to have something to practice with. After that, I went straight to Chanel and bought Tisse Essentiel, Tisse Camelia, and Tisse Vendome, and I have Blurry Green on the way. I will probably get Rivoli as well, and at that point I feel like I’ll be covered for just about everything I need. I really don’t want to have a lot of makeup palettes because it would be overwhelming to me. The Chanel quads are so easy to work with, and I like that the pigment isn’t overwhelming. It’s tough to go from zero makeup to super high contrast looks, so the subtle and buildable nature of the Chanel eyeshadows is perfect for me. I have one of the blushes you don’t like, but it’s fine for me because I feel like any amount of pigment is a lot-even when I was young, I never wore blush at all so the tiniest hint of the palest possible pink looks like it’s screaming at me. 😊 Thanks for all of your helpful videos!
Yes!! I have the Tisse Camelia, Vendome, Cambone and Rivoli!! Considering I am not into all the new pastels for spring, the Chanel 2014 collection might become my new spring wardrobe for 2025!! Thanks for this “shop my stash” video as I don’t really need anything new!!
I passed on the Byrado palet last year and was sort of kicking myself, but I have some Chanel from the past with colors that are close to what I was drawn to in the Byrado palet, and I am excited to start using what I have this year. I love to "meet" other long-time Chanel makeup lovers because they, too, have an extensive collection similar to mine. Been thinking of starting a Pinterest board for my vast collection!
I love this idea. I’m trying to be more mindful this year before buying something new. I plan to look at what I already have first. I’m sure this will help me make smarter choices.
Love this Video. I have the first ever chanel quad Les Magiques bought in Tokyo too long ago to mention. I am teaching for Tisse Venetien now. I keep all my quads. I have several of the Camelia highlighters., I bought 3 back ups. Love Pivoine I have 2!! Just love this type of Video. Sinus infections are the worst. Rest and get better. Live your content.
Do you have Winter Nights? That's back when the quad had squares not round shadows. I loved it, still have it. Also Mystic Eyes, I think it was, loved that. And the quad from the Codes collection. Not Code Elegante the golds but the other one which was a limited edition. I used that all up, just loved it. I also remember a compact lip gloss from Fall 2006 I think. It had three shades, a pearly white, a pink and plum. You could mix them together for the perfect plummy mauve. Loved it.
One of the first Chanel products I bought, late 80s, was a pencil type eyeshadow but they were powders, sponge tip on each end that filled from inside. I had the one with peach on one end and brown on the other. Back then they also had a gorgeous dome face powder that came in a peachy pink, very silky, loved it.
Ahhh. When I Chanel was my tried and true. I went through at least 2 Tisse Camelia quads. I loved Rivoli too. I wish Chanel would use more of these colors now.
This was great. I love that you were showing and talking about older collections, especially comparing the blushes. Thank you. I am looking forward to you doing more of these types of videos ❤
Hi Jennifer, when I look back at Tisse’ Rivoli (my fav) and Tisse’ Camelia I feel nostalgia for better, easier to use formulas. About a year ago, I repurchased them in fear they were being retired. I have the new Pivione but wish it were softer. Love the color. The changing formulas have to be the result of more than talc removal. Sorry you’ve been struggling with a sinus/ear infection- no fun. I so appreciate your knowledge as a former MUA at Chanel. Thanks!
Loved this trip down memory lane. During that year, they came out with Rouge Coco Shine 477, Reveuse, and it was my favorite shade. It’s not Boy, I did have enough to compare it. But I ran out of this color and I wish they would bring it back!!!😢
I have Tisse Vendome and rose bronze from 2014 I bought after getting my first bonus at work in spring of that year. They both still look and swatch fantastic. I’m a bit hesitant to put the eyeshadow on my eyes, but I use the blush still.
Those are some pretty palettes, I have a couple of them, purchased in the last year. I really wish Chanel would bring back The Vanities, I adored those purples!! That was my absolute favorite palette for many years. I think I was able to replace it a couple of times before it disappeared.
Thank you, Jennifer. I relish all these style of video topics. I admit to living in a bit of the 'past was so much better' mentality, but it helps to see things with new eyes. While I miss the older makeup of the 90s, I think I sometimes forget to appreciate some of the great options we have now. Seems to be a unianimous vote for Shop My Stash, thankfully. These are interesting videos to watch, especially whrn the host explains why they are opting for a particular product. Over the years, I have whittled down my YT subscription list. You remain one of my most trusted and informative hosts. I have zero interest in perfume, as I have been a collector for 35 years and have a monsterous collection and refined my tastes. I also have no interest in fashion and accessories either. I wear a work uniform at any rate so never have to consider what I wear. But when it comes to high end makeup, you know your products and topics. I never come away from a video disappointed or let down.
thank you for this video - if possible, more of this time machine videos please. sometimes the constant new releases are overwhelming rather than exciting, and it’s nice to pause and learn about older palettes.
Thanks Jennifer! I will pull out my Tissé pallets. Love the idea of shop your stash and the comparison video you did today. Hope you are feeling better.
I think the 2012-14 years for both Chanel and Guerlain makeup was classic (probably TF too). I have Guerlain highlighters from that era that are fabulous.
Thank you Jennifer! I really enjoy these sort of videos. I am In Australia and we have always had the Chanel Made in France makeup while the US usually got the Chanel Made in USA makeup (with some seasonal exceptions). So, we’ve usually had baked Chanel blushes and eyeshadows, while the US had the pressed powder Chanel blushes and eyeshadows in the permanent line. Given all these reformulations in the US, what is the formula currently used in the US for blushes and eyeshadows in the permanent line? Where are the products made? As far as I know, all our stuff in the permanent line (made in France) is still baked. I will go and check this week that it is. Also, I was told a few days ago in the Fragrance and Beauty shop that we are not getting any blush reformulations. I just thought I’d point out that, at least in the past, the Made in France and Made in USA were different formulations in the permanent line, and I am not sure in the last 5-10 years or so what the US has been getting.
Thanks for this video- as soon as your face came on camera, I thought OMG what is on her eyes!! Followed the link and bought it. Stunning, while it is similar to the new YSL pallete, it is much cooler in tone and I like it much better for my complexion!!
Hi Jennifer, Great video! I also have and love Tisse Camelia wow- 2014 was quite a year for Chanel makeup . I really liked 2019 and 2020 also ( i think they were the years, if memory serves...), I did buy a few things then. "warm Memories" quad and polar opposite "Elemental" ( lovely light coolish brown neutral quad), I also bought the single eyeshadow in Pourpre (looked like a little button), and a gorgeous highlighter in metal peach. I loved also the 2020 xmas collection with the Cuir Brun and blanc with the gorgeous Cuivre Rose Blush ( you have already talked about these in a recent vid- just love them!!). I think the "Shop the Stash" idea sounds just fab! Looking forward to it 🎉😊
I love shop my stash videos! Do you have any tips on how to apply eyeshadow to smaller slightly hooded eyes? I barely use eyeshadow these days because it makes my eyes look smaller. Hope you feel better soon.❤
Great video :)! Lately, I have been trying to go through my collection before I buy. Also, I just did a small declutter of products that are good but not the best for me :).
This is awesome! I did this for Chanel spring 2025! I bought the verte lagoon liner and love that with the medium rose gold Chanel Les beiges palette with the bronze and gold highlight on my eyes. I also missed the Hermes blush before it sold out. Same for the new DIOR spring blue polish. Missed both of those! 🫠💁♀️🫶
I have many of the Tissse quads. I have Tisse Jazz, which has blue shades. I have never used it, but it very pretty. I think it is from 2013/2014, so it is probably too old now.
There are some shades in the blush that aren’t available in Canada such as, Rose Bronze, Jersey, Rose Ruban. Do you happen to know why they are only available in the US?
Like a mad woman, I bought every PRE- 2021 blush I could get my hands on at every department store after hearing about the chalky matte mess they became. I had to call to explain to the SA's what to look for on the box to be sure it was not from 2021. Those baked formulas are just so good. Also infuriating, the LES TISSAGES DE CHANEL Blush Duo Tweed Effect have not come back here (as of 2024 France and Singapore still carries them year round). WHY not here? Although nothing like the original blush, I still used to look forward to their yearly limited edition Tweed blush launches. The beige and cherry blossom were my favorites.
I wonder if it is because makeup preferences differ so much. The French aesthetic is so much more natural and softer than the US. It might also reflect where people spend their money. Rich Singaporeans will also buy in Paris, so makes sense to have the same aesthetics for sale.
Hi Jen, I have the Tisse Camelia that I bought in 2023 and I have to tell you that I am not at all impressed with the reformulated quality of the Chanel’s shadows (and blushes). I am sure your 2014 version is far more superior.

The ombre stylos..! Such such such great releases. I still have many pieces from then
Dug out my Tisse Camellia and am using it today!

I love this concept of comparing the old and new products! Great video! So happy you'll be doing this full-time. 😊 (And thanks for the shout-out!)

Hi Jennifer, the Tisse Revoli and Tisse Camelia palettes were the first two palettes I ever purchased from Chanel. ❤

I would love to see some teal type of shades.

My first quad was in 1993 or 94, a mostly matte lilac, pink and gray. I tossed it just a few years ago, and wish I hadn't.

Mica is a substitue for talc. But talc provides bettrr finish, psyoff, saturation

😊i was just thinking of pulling that quad out! Something cloudy, something hoping for Spring.
That year was insane! So many good quads
I love your new lighting! I'm so happy you're taking a step back from work and just doing what makes you feel good. So excited for the upcoming year!❤
Great video :)! Lately, I have been trying to go through my collection before I buy. Also, I just did a small declutter of products that are good but not the best for me :).
@all feisty i still have the rose bronze and tempting beige. Will not be throwing away! Youll hsve to pry it from my dead hands
The video quality, lighting is amazing!
Those were the days for sure! Thanks for the memories. Do you think we’ll get reformulation/color story revamp of the permanent quads anytime soon?
I’m so curious to see how “velvet” the new velvet foundation really is! Hope you’re well soon ❤️

Hi where is your headband from?

❤❤❤
It’s interesting the differences but yet same. The colors all have are same for different companies
