  • The education secretary has told Sky News the government will "consider" whether to scrap the two-child benefit cap.
Labour refused to say during the general election whether the cap would be abolished.
Bridget Phillipson told Sky News the move would be "very expensive" and the Conservative Party had "wrecked the economy".
"We are aware of the evidence around this, and as part of the review that we will conduct in the coming months we will consider that as part of a number of ways... in terms of how we can lift children out of poverty," she said.

Two weeks in the seat of power and Labour already showing us it's about their individual ideaologies and not the interests of the country or the people in it. I'd like to thank those that voted for this mess and those that couldn't be bothered to get of their rear ends for allowing us all the opportunity to live with these idiots.

Their "ideology" is just that many issues can't just be cured by throwing money at them. They need to treat the root cause. That isn't a personal ideology. It's pragmatic sensible policy.

So Labour's fully costed policies are blown up by various Labour interest groups. Give in to one pressure group and the others demand and expect increased funding too. But with promised no increase in taxes, where is the fully funded money coming from? The UK is broke.
