Guys read the description! This is an update video to my graphical overhaul, since Community Shaders received a big new update! DO NOT use any lighting mod with this setup, the new CS addons combined with Placed Light and Light Placer make it where CS can now generate their own lighting or support it, which is massive! My apologies for the bad timing and as always thanks for watching!
Hey there, very informative video, much appreciated! I've been trying to get Complex Parallax running in my game with CS and I just can't figure it out. Is there any chance you'd make a guide? Literally not a single comprehensive guide exists for getting Complex Parallax working, and if it does, it's years old and is using ENB.
Thank you so much for this tutorial! It helped me a lot! ❤ Quick question though, I had already installed Reshade before I found this video but I selected SkyrimSE.exe instead of skse64_loader.exe do I have to uninstall it and start over?
Run reshade, and then select skse in your Skyrim data as I did in the video, you will get a pop up window giving you 3 choices, third being "uninstall reshade". If you don't see these 3 options that means you don't need to uninstall anything.
CS is an actual graphical overhaul that adds occlusion, shadows, parallax, subsurface scattering, exierior and interior lighting effects, ( partical lights enabled) and even actual wetness effects when ut rains Reshade doesnt. What reshade does do is add, color templetes, and visual themes, so they work best together since they cover what each lack. U arent under any obligation to use a reshade, but its recommended.

I am confused by No Sunlight Through Mountains. On the mod page, it claims it does similar things to Assorted Mesh Fixes. So, is it redundant if you have Assorted Mesh Fixes installed?
CS now has something " simular to Assorted mesh fixes but better passively built in. No sunlight Through Mountains is still needed. No sunlight only effects mountains. @@anthonym840 Yep! I am in the process of attempting to compile a set of mods to use that essentially give a more difficult, fair, immersive, and enhanced version of Skyrim that is more or less like a remake without straying from Skyrim's core identity yet also giving a more serious, somber, and something less "You are the invincible Dragonborn" vibe.

All that work, and it still looks like vanilla graphics with extra bells and whistles. And performance, according to my own tests, is worse than a full blown ENB setup with Cabbage.
Sorry. I don't like what Ive seen from the other 2 mods you suggested...light placer and twilight. I see bugs using 170 Skyrim version on their mod pages. Can you confirm if it works with latest version of Skyrim or not? Thank you Otherwise really nice video.
I've played for around 30 hours with this setup and it looks and plays really nice. Twilight makes good usage of Daren's rehade preset which works wonders with CS. I am not sure if it works for the latest AE build.
@Kavou yes. Doesn't appear yet. I only moved up from 1.6.640 to get no grass mod to work. I have a 7900 xt I just purchased. So I can handle enb. But I really like cs. Being a community and such.

You can still use a Weather mod ? (Cathedral for example)
Yes. I use Azurite because it works perfectly with CS and Daren's Reshade.
What about Lux?
@@EASTWYCK2 Lux is an awesome lighting mod. You either use this setup of CS or you use Lux instead, it's nice to finally have an option.

Hey check my previous video regarding the graphic mods I am using. Complex Parallax + Skyland's Textures + CS is what I am using on that video.
There's a interior brightness mod if it looks too dark
That mod is so underrated, very nice call!
@@Kavou What mod?
it's called Interior Vs Exterior Brightness Settings if I remember correctly.

Yeah, do that then re-run the reshade by selecting skse-loader.exe and thanks!

So you still need to install reshade... if so then why bother with CS?
HDR does not work with CS anymore, so I use reshade to add slightly some color, otherwise the game looks "grey".
@@Kavou thats a bummer that HDR is currently broken. Hopefully they fix it so that it works with CS again.

CS and Reshade 2 different thing noob
What texture are you using? Is that vanilla?
I use Noble Skyrim and on top of it I use Skyland AIO which aims for a realistic/vanilla look, check my graphical overhaul video!

Is there a tutorial for updating CS?
This is it. You simply remove all the old CS related mods and install their latest versions as I did in this video
What if the Reshade tool has been updated?
Reshade will never cause issues to your game, the latest the build the more effects it supports.
@@Kavou Right, but what if I used an old version of Reshade, how update to a new one?
There is an option as shown in the video, when you install reshade to have it delete all the files of the previous one.

That means CS Or it's requirents are not properly installed, check the mods you need fpr CS, you might be missing the Microsoft drivers for instance.

My thoughts exactly. Still haven't seen a community shaders setup that looks as good and performs as well as ENB.
I see dlss does it also have fsr?
It has DLSS so it propably has FSR too.
