  • I needed some cavalry for Dragon Rampant, and at the time the local store had sold out of al their Perry kits. I remembered Fireforge had released these figures in the time since I'd last built any of their cavalry, so I figured I'd give them a try.
I like that this kit straddles the line between fantasy and historical ever so carefully. While the basic frame is based on the other mounted warrior kits that Fireforge makes, the helmets and pauldrons carry a much more exaggerated fantasy style with them.
One of my main gripes with this kit is the same I've had with the other Fireforge mounted models (not that I've ever posted about them before)- the arms with the shields tend to be much too close to the body, resulting in some of the poses looking a bit awkward (as well as making some difficult to paint spots).
There's a fun assortment of hand weapons that work quite well with Fireforge's on foot kits, such as their Teutonic and Templar figures, and who doesn't like a massive spiked flail to swing around at your opponents?
You can find them on Fireforge's website, along with their Forgotten World fantasy kits, and hopefully their Byzantines soon as wel!

Those little rectangular pieces go on the shoulder. Reference: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ailette
I really enjoy seeing the range of figures you collect and work on.

Nice models. Have made a few and found that trimming the cloaks helps them fit better. Yes the cloaks work well with many other minis in Frostgrave or Oathmark of Fireforge

Have you played around with these on the Oathmark wolves or the WGA Giant Spiders?

Oops- just looked back and saw that you commented that you'd stuck a knight on the spiders.

Not sure if you've tried, but would the Albion Knights heads fit on Warhammer Empire knights bodies?

Depends if you mean the new or old knights. Empire knights? They may work. The new Cities of Sigmar ones, I don't think they would.
The more interesting question I have bubbling up is how these heads and other parts would work with the new Victrix and Wargames Atlantic knights and footmen!

Appreciate this video. I had thought about getting these but I’m coming across some 3d printed minis that are much more realistic in scale and more detailed. So you saved me about $35.

      Lost Kingdoms' Mercia files perhaps?

@@ObscuritiesinMiniature These figures. Beautiful sculpts. Almost TOO much detail on the horses.

@@mariorossi7225 You’re welcome. Glad you found my comment. Those minis are REALLY nice. I bought the set of five and the seller I messaged and was even able to ask for the five I liked.

There is very little difference between any of the fireforge box sets. Which is disappointing, as it's just as easy to buy 2 if the same box. Templars and Teutonic have helms, sergeants have kettle helmets. I'm now waiting for the Italian mercenaries which will be the next line.
Mongols make nice kislev horse archers.

GW miniatures get bigger and bigger. How long before even the infantry are 75mm? I'm joking mostly...
