Guys he’s worried about his opponent being scared of a card lol. Raising here is 100% the correct play against an overpair. You have to build a pot. His oppo probably had something like KQ suited or AQ
@@devonherron9935 not sure how it’s the right play honesty 🤔. I mean when you raise on 388 you only represnting an 8. Specially after the fact that his opponent came on top. Even if his opponent called that raise and Lex continues on the turn, his opponent can easily fold.
@@devonherron9935 “100% correct play”? Buddy I want you in our home game . Yes he could have KQ or AQ but he may have hit one on turn or river , if has the over pair he going to keep betting . Raising quads on the flop is absolutely 💯 the worst play. And I’m an amateur garage poker player
Lex- Good flopped quads (or other great hands) scenario that I normally use is: Check flop, call c-bet, hollywood/feign a tiny disappointment on the turn (subtle cheek twitch, lip flutter maybe :), look at your cards, and then check). Many times this will induce a bigger bet, rather than quick check, check-back. River, a little more "acting", check your cards, look "shifty", and then finally bet pot or overbet. I've gotten more snap calls this way! Give it a try, and let me know :). If I ever play with against you, I'll make sure I buy you a pitcher of wine! Lol
Proving that 1 can live the grind and do it well. His big road trip was hard but now after settling back to Florida it has been all upwards (with the downswing month inlc.) Cause I see Lex looking happy most recently.
Always fun bro. Your 85 vs A5 will go down in the history books haha, Doug will be all over it! You're having fun and that's what matters. You know your limits, proving to us that bankroll management is what keeps you playing poker. No need to go broke playing games too big.
It's not so crazy to raise. If the villain has an over pair then if any card over that pair will kill your action. Much better to get it in good. Besides what does calling do? It's just hoping for them to catch up which is unlikely with 2 overs
@@josephschwartz705 He made a fairly small bet. It is more likely he will follow up on next card and if he doesn't you can then bet small or big or check it to the river. The all in raise there to me signals trip 8's to the opponent.
I'm new to your channel Lex and so far have been bing watching your vlogs! I love it and it inspires me to maybe start vlogging my poker journey. And the thought of living life as a professional poker player. I wish you all the best!
You have to smooth call the 3-8-8 board. You call and there is $,1825 in the middle. If he continues for half pot, that would be $900 and the pot would be $3,625 and you'd be able to lead out pot sized or check raise the river.
Yeah folding is too tight😂 I know I would've checked flop and when it got back around to me, I look at the pot, roll my eyes, ask for a count and then shuffle my chips a bit more and finally just call.
Personally when I flop quads, I do one of two things, make it look like a bluff if I know he's going to call or let him catch up. He's not going to call a check/raise unless he has AA, KK on that board, and your action will be killed by the turn, if you bet again, that is unless you have the current image of a bluffy player of a maniac. If you check/raise on that board, your only going have nutted hands or a stone cold bluff. It's better to let him catch up and hopefully get a full house then give him a hard decision on the river.
Bro with QJs in the SB the call pre is def ok you can go either way, the fact that it’s suited makes calling a bit better than if it was offsuit. But the raise on the flop is a bit wild. If you think he’s weak your jack is probably good so u can just call him down, your basically sifting out all his bluffs that you could’ve gotten more value from on turn and river stabs, and probably 85-90% of hands that he calls your raise with have u beat
I would have folded too, the second bet was obviously really strong with 800. And on the quad 8 hand, why do you think you get the max when you reraise? Thats really difficult for the villain to think that you have a weaker hand when you reraise.
When you flopped quad 8's, you should just check call until the river. Let the aggressive players hang themselves. When you get to the river, lead out for a good size bet around 2/3 pot.
Def think this was ur best vlog yet. I absolutely love the gym vids. The layman don’t understand ur much better at lifting than poker 😜 350 clean is fucking sick. Nice bluff w 65ss. Gotta flat the quads. Keep up the great content!
I think it's great to see you doing other things besides poker like heading to the gym and walking dogs. should show us little more of things you do too, like visiting family or meeting people. I also think it was good that there's another dog there to be with your dog while you're gone so he's not all alone. that way he's got someone to play with while you're gone. I have two dogs, and when i'm gone, they play together while they are bored. so it's good for them. as for poker, your game today was insane, especially your bluffings. oh, as for your AA's, I know people think it's be best card, but I do fold them AAs when I see the community cards are NOT in my favors. a lot of people couldn't fold AAs. all in all, as long as you had a good day today, everyone's happy!! keep up the good work and keep vlogging. always loved your vlogs!!
Given the limited info on villain, the AK fold was more than fine. But the check raise on the flop with quads was painful. If he had a high PP you were likely getting it in anyway but folding out all other hands without giving an opportunity to catch up with unpaired cards.
6:15 Nobody's tilted, new game. Button can have AT, A5, TT (3bet?), 55. You raised preflop and then C-bet. You can have AA, AK, AT, TT. Your c-bet gets a caller, and *still* he wants to raise? On my A-game, I fold to the flop raise. On my B-game, I check/fold the turn, and give myself a talking-to.
I find opening a line of credit at Vegas casinos to be pretty convenient. Perhaps you might be able to do that with some of the local Casino’s other than .Harrah’s
one of the many times i lost/choped aa vs kk was a real doozy. ran it two times, first board was kkxxx and the second was qj10 flop and, miraculosly, i did hold. poker life is funny:))
Raising the nuts on flop always confuses me. When you've smashed it Chances are they haven't Even if the bet it's more likely a bluff It's rarely worked out well to raise with nuts. Let them bluff or catch up instead
Lex I trained maybe 5 days a week throughout my 30s, I'm 43 now and my back is F'd, I can still workout but it's a constant worry and pain all day, like 3/4 out of 10... mind that back man, I think slightly bad form in my squat and deadlift compressed some disks but man wouldn't wish it on anyone so protect that back at all costs
Drunk Lex punting money is my favorite turn of this vlog 😂
I can't believe you raised up to 1k on quad 8 instead of just calling
Yea such a bad play
I’m trying to think of what “scary card” he is talking about specially after the fact that he put him on an over pair 🤦🏻♂️

Acting weak=strong. I would have slammed the chips down donk bet. Stare at my opponent. If they for then I know they suck at reads.
Save the wine for after the session when you're walking the puppies!
Honestly one of the beat poker vloggers out there keep it up!

I love watching the Lexo vlog right before I’m gearing up for a session tonight at talking stick

Thanks for the video! I appreciate you putting Mariano on the screen!!

Both doggos are adorable, very nice vlog Lex.
Love the lifting segments lex.
GREAT FOLD...on the AK on the first hand! Hard to do..but you were right!!!

How do you make such a smart/disciplined/tight fold with AK, then raise with quads?!?! You have that board locked up: check-call all day!!!
U PLAYED CRAZY FOR SURE

Lex your mega jacked! Great vids, love when you go mega tilt
Omg Lex , you’re basically a ninja bro 🥷
Rouge plus ➕ 1, that's some double dog action.
Damn Lex looking big💪
Lex o with the strength 💪
If I just call I risk a scare card coming out 😭
On an 8 8 3 rainbow board
Ok Lex. Makes sense. There's a pile of scary turn cards, right 😭
That’s a familiar voice in the background at the beginning of the video, Amagansett Press

Yeah folding is too tight😂
I know I would've checked flop and when it got back around to me, I look at the pot, roll my eyes, ask for a count and then shuffle my chips a bit more and finally just call.
Raising that quad 8's flop is inexcusable!! Nice content tho
That 88 hand hurt my soul. Knew that snap fold was coming 🥲
Pre nice C + J sheeeesh

Raising four of a kind on the flop is always a overplay....
Kids running around gym was most tilting segment. Scary shit.
You f*ked up raising with quads bro. Let him keep bluffing
Glad you got another dog to keep each other company
Fun vlog Lex!
For the people at home, if you flop the stone cold nuts, never raise before the turn!

Agree horrible move. Probably was drinking
Not necessarily
Yes check raise too strong. I might have donk bet.

It’s called a combo bet. Better to fold; worse to call.
