When Zeus starts the video you know it's gonna be a bumpy ride!! Great content as always!!
Made a few bad plays, Zeus was not pleased.
Great video Doug! Love the new graphics.
Thanks! Glad you liked them.
Great Vlog, Doug! I always look forward for your Sunday post! Hey, Zeus!!!
Thanks so much. 🐕👋
Nice going Doug. I enjoy your videos.
Glad you like them!
Really enjoy your vlogs. I think your play represents the majority of poker plays. The really high rollers are in the minoroty. Plus who can afford loosing 50 grand plus in a hand of poker. Please continue to blog 🎉🎉
Thank you, my wife would end me if I lost 50k in a pot. She gives me the evil eye when I jam AK pre. 😀.
@@dougmccuskerpoker well I can't help you with that. Lol. I do very much like yur vlogs because I believe that the average poker player represents your style of play. BTW your very good. Best of luck going forward. An Zeus is great!! Lol
Like the graphics! I think the lag is actually a calling station though.
He was more passive against me, aggressive when in position.
Greetings Doug, hope youre well, summer has been poor, weather bad, but theres hope for the coming weeks, golfing is on again!!hope youre well , greetings to Zeus and the Family, regards from the UK, Fraser!!
Thank Fraser, pretty hot here but that’s normal. Waiting for it to cool down a bit before hitting the links again.
Hey Doug! Great play as usual, just some rough hands (as usual🙄).
In the last hand (your AA), I had a last minute thought of him jamming with KK. That would be a pure player read/hero call/BIFF though. Just an epiphany from an average Geoff. ✌👊
hey doug love the player image on top of the card lol awesome video always!
Hey, thanks! Glad you liked them.
Doug #1 poker player who makes this vlog!
Thanks Jim
I'm a lag according to other players. It's all I know. Good video
Lags are tough to play against!
Zeus back with authority.
I screw up=Zeus is back
Doug I hear ya...I don't mind bad variance...but when I make bad decisions.....ugh!
Yes, bad plays weigh on me more than bad beats anytime.
Your game is very solid
Thanks, still trying to improve
Nitty player with 9h8h could also had AK and nits usually don’t reraise with that hand preflop. 20/20 hindsight, that river 9 was a check all day.
Yeah, I wish I checked it
You have a tell! I can't give it out to everyone... but maybe you'll see it on close review!
Shh. 🤫
New graphics are awesome makes it like your playing mega poker online
Lol, that means it might be too much.
Drawing to what on those aces with the Queen 65 board??? If you ever had a dry board to Just call that was it!
Hey Doug where you play do they "rake" the pot or do they "rake" the buy in?
$5 per hand from the pot.
Is it better to check an overpair like KK or AA when the flop is too connected with flush and straight draws when in position?
Never say always to anything in poker. Depends on your opponents and game flow. If you feel your ahead and get called, bet is normally best. If your opponent can put you in a tough spot by check raising you, you might play it slower.
ben deach is cool but 3-2 is known as the “dirty diaper.” “the skinny” is just a no. great video doug
Dirty diaper is correct
Yeah, I’d call the guy to your right a loose passive.
He was passive against me more than with others at the table.
Nice content
Thanks for watching
Track suit mafia got the best of you there Doug. 8,9h is definitely confusing how he got there. Might have just decided to play considering his position.
It was definitely not in his normal range, he felt like gambling.
😎
Way to turn around a session after a mistake. An active, aggressive player on your right is a great boon.
Besides paying off the guy you knew wasn't bluffing (and failing to credit that the guy beside you was likely to have you beat), this vlog was full of great play. The game is so much easier when you're not in the hand. If you're in the hands, and consistently making good decisions, you should feel good about that. Compare this vlog to your play from two years ago. The difference is night and day. Well, dusk and day, anyway.
Thanks, I do feel I am playing better and my mistakes are getting smaller. Hopefully when I look back 2 years from now, I can see more improvement.
Yea think you gotta fold the KQ but not sure a nit calls the flop but with 98 so maybe not a true nit?
It was a fold of course, but it was so strange to me how he got there that he got the call out of me.
What if you also ran into aces at the end?
He would 3 bet pre with AA.
Wow what a lucky donk that guy was at times BTW did he end up loosing? 😮 love the graphics Doug 👌 good win
I’m not sure how he ended up, I believe he was down when I left.
How can he be a nit and get to the river there with 89h? More like a calling station
Nit means they aren’t driving the action unless they have agreat hand doesn’t mean they aren’t calling with speculative hands
True, his bet still says fold and I wasn’t listening.
He fooled me, couldn’t put that in his range.
He had middle pr w backdoor flush draw and the turn was a check so he got free card n hit his 9 on the River.
@@bookedroomernit literally means somebody who waits for premiums or the nuts
Title says punting chips but yet you were up every session???
Not every session, about 75% of sessions. It is possible to recover from punts.
11:02 He could have A9h/T9h. Very easily.
It’s possible
89H guess he's not such a nit!
Not that hand, he plays very tight, maybe not as tight as I thought.
Can I recommend some coaching? This type of thinking/approach is unsustainable and will get you crushed.
It’s not just the KQ hand. It’s lack of understanding what your purpose is in each hand and on each street. Not having a clear purpose on each street will lead to impulsive decisions that have nothing to do with Present Moment.
I’m always open to hearing your thoughts. Feedback is one of the ways I learn.
Do you ever bluff?
I bluff when players are capable of folding. Calling stations, I bet for value and limit the bluffs.
The KQ♣️ hand was not your best effort. The nit was calling everything and with 2 pair on the board I would give him credit for a better hand. Checking to him on the river would have saved a lot of money. Oh well I should never criticize your play as you’re still way better than me. One question, did you not know the player on your right had AK?
I don’t mind the small bet with the intention to fold to a raise. I was planning to fold, but my mind couldn’t figure how he got there with a 9. I was concerned the other player had AA or AK, but I went for value if he had a smaller pair that would pay off.
Wait… you called a 3bet out of the small blind with K9 in the 2nd hand? You’re better than that
It was a loose call for sure.
Why go all in on river with K9 clubs if you think you’re K is good and targeting your opponent with a pair of Q’s. This makes more sense if you want a fold and you’re turning your hand into a bluff.
I went all in for 80% pot, only size that really makes sense. He tanked for a while, he almost called.
OK so you made one play you shouldn't have, you still ended up with a profit.
You could run like I do instead.
Wouldn't you like seeing QhQd utg, come in for a raise, a horrible player shoves preflop, and you of course call, and he shows Qs5s.
Wow what a great spot, 87% fav.
As usual for me, he hits his 1 in 11 flop for a flush draw, and catches it on the river.
Yes, you could have saved some chips by folding, try losing your whole stack to a maniac when you have him dominated.
The latter is much worse.
It always sucks losing a big hand to a long shot. It happens, brush it off and be thankful you’re in a game with players shoving with Q5
@@dougmccuskerpoker Losing one doesn't suck, losing 20 in a row does. It REALLY sucks.
Male English mastiff?
Yes sir
@dougmccuskerpoker they are amazing dogs.. my first dog was a female. No other dog like them.
@@Lexnycbk Zeus is my 3rd, best breed imo
At my home casino there’s a guy who is super loose and aggressive who when he comes to play everybody wants in. Just so happens he there Friday evening and is spreading the money out to the tune of 4K in a 1/3 no limit game. He buys in a grand at a time and I saw 4 buy ins. Super fun to play with super sticky and I busted him out last in a 1600+ pot with a5d. I turned 2 pair to his ak. It’s was a good time.
LAGs are action, stacks will definitely be moving around.
Flopped a set on the first hand dealt to me and stacked a player. Hell of a way to start the game. And I didn’t run hot just caught the right hand at the right time.
😎
