What if the Iranian World United? Greater Iran

  • What if the Iranian peoples united under a single country, creating a pan-ethnic Greater Iran? The Iranian peoples encompass far more than the Persians, and are spread out over many countries in South/West Asia.
    Although this scenario doesn't have quite the same notoriety as some other irredentist movements, it's still an incredibly interesting one to say the least. Let me know your thoughts on the pan-Iranian movement and unification. Thanks for watching!

      Because we are both Indo-European peoples with great culture and a long history behind us in which we have met and clashed many times. Curiously, then, some Iranians resemble the Italians of southern Italy, which has always amazed me. I also noticed that Iranian cuisine is very balanced like Italian cuisine, but I have yet to try it! @Sun Light

      @Toonimation Most of today's Afghanistan (and beyond) was part of a bigger Persia not very long ago. Being Persian is more about nationality than ethnicity. In other words, while not everyone in Persia was a Persian, (that's why it was an empire in the first place) the constituent ethnicities (including Pashtuns) share many commonalities such as language, culture, values, etc. among each other. By the way, we don't need your territory. Our country is still big and rich. More importantly, we already have enough trouble managing our country, we don't want to top up problems by including yours.

    • @bobsvagene3021
      @bobsvagene3021 5 лет назад +17

      @Toonimation Becuase you happen to live on "Iranian Plateau" where your ancestors lived for thousands of years. Being Iranic does not attribute anything to today's Iran. I confirm that Pashtun is not (and perhaps never has been) a mainstream ethnicity in the region of today's Iran. However, Pashtun is among the many ethnicities that historically formed a very big nation, in a geographical boundary known as Iranic Plateau. That boundary now is shrunk to today's Iran but it still contains a fascinating mix of different but intertwined ethnicities with different languages. In fact, speaking the same languages does not make a nation. Algerian and Morrocan speak French but they didn't form the French nation. North American Immigrants spoke the same language with Britons but eventually made their own nation. What makes a nation is people volunteering contributions and efforts for raising up and prospering a nation, and Iranic people have done that several times through history. What was the nation your Pashtun ancestors voluntarily participated in?

      Both dead cultures now Muslim and Christian
      "If the statistics are right, the Jews constitute but one percent of the human race. It suggests a nebulous dim puff of star dust lost in the blaze of the Milky Way. Properly the Jew ought hardly to be heard of, but he is heard of, has always been heard of. He is as prominent on the planet as any other people, and his commercial importance is extravagantly out of proportion to the smallness of his bulk. His contributions to the world's list of great names in literature, science, art, music, finance, medicine, and abstruse learning are also away out of proportion to the weakness of his numbers. He has made a marvellous fight in the world, in all the ages; and has done it with his hands tied behind him. He could be vain of himself, and be excused for it. The Egyptian, the Babylonian, and the Persian rose, filled the planet with sound and splendor, then faded to dream-stuff and passed away; the Greek and the Roman followed, and made a vast noise, and they are gone; other peoples have sprung up and held their torch high for a time, but it burned out, and they sit in twilight now, or have vanished. The Jew saw them all, beat them all, and is now what he always was, exhibiting no decadence, no infirmities of age, no weakening of his parts, no slowing of his energies, no dulling of his alert and aggressive mind. All things are mortal but the Jew; all other forces pass, but he remains. What is the secret of his immortality?"

This hypothesis is largely based on linguistic considerations and was predominantly developed by linguists. In contrast to such believes, newest DNA-research of advanced Human Anthropology indicates, that in earliest traceable origins, forefathers of Kurds were obviously de-scendants of indigenous (first) Neolithic Northern Fertile Crescent aborigines, geographically mainly from outside and northwest of what is Iran of today in Near East and Eurasia. Oldest ancestral forefathers of Kurds were millennia later linguistically Iranianized in several waves by militarily organized elites of (R1a1) immigrants from Central Asia.*

      Robert Abrahamsen thanks to the islamic rulers of Persia/Iran most of us Persians/Iranians found our way back to Zoroastrianism, because we don’t like to live like muslims. We never liked it. That’s why we Persians/Iranians found the Shia way of islam, after getting forced by unbelievable torture, in a timeline of 222 years, to be islamic. But today the Shia way is not enough for us, we want a Zoroastrian way of life in our country back. The numbers are not official, but you see in the streets of Persia/Iran everywhere the symbol Farwahar/Zoroastrian Symbol, as a necklace or tattoo on young Persian/Iranians. Thanks to Ormazd 🙏🏻

      @@darinajorgensen4492 There's numerous reasons. But, I'll explain it in a nutshell. Virtually all of the land shown in the clip above had been what constituted the nation of Iran for thousands of years. The Hotaki Pashtuns took advantage of the Safavids when they were at war and declared Afghanistan a separate state. When Nader Shah died that is when Iranian history emerged into it's dark ages. A civil war took place and briefly a dynasty known as the Zands took power, afterwards the worst dynasty in Iranian history took power known as the Qajars. They basically sold off Balochistan and Bahrain to the English, Arran (what we call the Republic of Azerbaijan) and Armenia and much of the caucuses to Russia. The Ottomans took the Kurdish regions of Iraq, Syria and Anatolia. This literally hapened in the space of maybe 50 years. It's one of Iran's worst points.

    Persian history, civilization, culture, customs and traditions have been one of the richest and most beautiful empires of all time. The first kingdom of the world was Cyrus the Great. A prophet who embodied all the purity and goodness of his time. But he did not force or enslave any people. Liberation of the Jews. Reconciling nations. Due to the enmity and perhaps jealousy of European historians and unfortunately the destruction of history books due to the invasion of Alexander and then the Arab invasion and then the Mongol invasion, historical information about Iran is much less than information about Greece or Rome. The impact that the Iranians had on the evolution of human society, whether through inventions and discoveries and having the greatest scientists and physicians, is a great blessing to humanity. I hope that the services of Iranians to the world will be paid more and better. And know that the Islamic Republic is not the representative of the pure land of our ancestors.

    The name of Iran was never changed. It was always Iran but the Greeks who had met Cyrus and his ethnically Persian army called the whole of Iranians as Persians. And this name remained the name given to Iran by the westerners for the rest of the nearly 2000years to come. When it was changed by the king in 1933 in order to make others call them by their true name, the westerners were confused and didn’t make the connexion between Persia and Iran and mainly due to the appearance of Iraq and all the Stan-like countries. And I am gilaki by the way.

    It is really sad to see our northern azerbaijani brothers feel so inclined to Turkey instead of Iran. They are Iranian genetically, Iranian culturally, of Shia faith yet they speak turkish. Pan Iranism was an idea invented by an azeri, even the name azar, means fire in ancient Iranian.
    It is indeed a real shame.

    • @jackwhitestripe7342
      @jackwhitestripe7342 2 года назад

      If they were Iranian genetically and culturally, why do they speak Turkish, why do they have Turkic culture? Who were Seljuk Turks who conquered Arabized Iran and rescued Persian language and culture, and continued to Anatolia and further to Europe? Azerbaijan is just a geographic name, they are Turks, not Azeri. They are Azerbaijani Turks.
      As for your question why they feel so inclined to Turkey, because they are the same people, namely Oghuz Turks (Turkey, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan).
      You must thanks Turks 1000 times because without Turks you would be Arabs today. Your Persian language was already dying under Arab rule. You would be like other Arabized countries such as Egypt, Irak, Syria, North Africa etc.
      Turks never forced their language and culture. On the contrary, they choosed Persian as official language.

    • @jackwhitestripe7342
      @jackwhitestripe7342 2 года назад

      You don't know even what Turkic means. I guess, if I ask to you, you will say "Mongolians"! This is the trick. Then, you compare Turkish people to Mongolians and of course you will not find many similarities, so your conclusion will be "Turkish people are not Turks/Turkic".
