Thanks for teaching me how to load the film...I appreciate it.

Thank you so much, just bought this model (chrome version) and after watching your video I understood many things about this camera (specially how to get the light meter to work), I will start taking pictures tomorrow with it.

thanks for the video! definitely gave me the push to convert my f2 photonic to an f2a, my only complaint about the f2 is the "Nikon shuffle" making it hard to mount lenses quickly! and all my lenses are either AI or AIS, so it will only improve my workflow!

Have had mine since the early 80's. Wish I had a car that was as reliable.

Hi, camera reliability is generally very good, I don't think they were designed to last as long as they have, great camera..

The shutter curtains are titanium. I agree with you regarding the 50mm f1.8 pancake, it’s excellent. I have one for my FM2n, along with a 28mm f2.8 Ai-s (another excellent lens with close range correction).
I’m selling my FM2 and replacing it with an OM2, as I have several Zuiko lenses.

Thanks for the shutter information, big fan of the OM system, never had an FM, only the FE model....

4:21 Hello! The T position on the shutter release shroud, is for long timed exposures while the shutter speed is set to the B Bulb position.
What you do, is set the shroud to T, speed to B, then choose a shutter speed in seconds with the timer on the front of the camera, between 2 and 10 seconds. Then when you release the shutter, it opens, the timer then starts and the shutter closes once the timer finishes it's countdown.
My lovely 45 year old Nikon F2AS is still working perfectly.

The Nikon F2A was my first SLR that I purchased in the late seventies, along with MD + BP and the Nikkor 50 f/1.8. I still have it and it is fully functional. 😊 At first, I got a FM as a backup but upgraded it for a FE2 later on for the TTL flash feature.

Thanks for sharing, that's some first SLR setup, never had an FM but loved the FE, great cameras and AI lenses are exceptional, the F2 are still very popular!

@@thephotographersbag All my Nikon SLR/DSLR had MD. Like the speed, but more importantly, I'm a left-eye dominant photographer and the MD remove the need to pull out the advance/meter lever. Especially true for the FE2 that too often poked into my right eye.

Great video man ! Do you know if I can use Pre Ai lens on the F2A . I would like to share lens sometimes with my F and the F2A I just picked up . I know on my FM I can but not to sure about the F2A.

Hi, yes you can but metering will have to be in the "stopped down" mode, meter with the stop down button depressed
Also fold the little tab on the head dp-11 to avoid rubbing on the aperture ring, not sure about specialist wideangles etc.. ..hope this helps. ..

I have 2@ F2's, MD-2s, and MB-1s. Too bad the great films are all D.O.A. We are left in an electronic world without resolution or depth. Oh, the good ol' days.
