Hello!Great tutorial, but I am a beginer and i was wondering how do you make that percussions sounds, and when do i have to make them to suit the beat?Maybe it will come up naturally if i practice this song?
You can make the percussion sounds by strumming down while lightly touching all the strings with your fretting hand. Follow this strum pattern including the percussive mute which are marked by “x”: down on pull-off, x x up x up up x up up x up up x up up x up up x up up x up. Might be a lot to think about incorporating those mutes at first but hope this helps!
Yes, push your pointer on the 4th fret of the 3rd string and push your ring finger on the 5th fret of the same string. Make sure they’re both held down, then play the string and pull your ring finger off, while still keeping your pointer on. It’s sort of a downward motion and should sort of feel like you’re pulling the string towards the floor with your ring finger. Imagine you’re flinging a rubber band up into the air with the ring finger of your fretting hand. If you’re new to pull offs, it takes a while for your fingers to build strength and for the skin on your finger tips to get tougher. After a while of doing it though, it starts to sound better because of the strength and control you get in your fingers from the repetition. Good luck!
The first shape is a G6/11 pulling off to G6. Second shape is another inversion of G6. The third shape is a Gmaj13 and the last shape is a D6/9 with an F# bass. Hope this helps!
