I broke a piece off a couple of months ago and it didn't seen fibrous enough... not very tough. Suppose I got a very tender runner instead of the more mature vine???

+David West Yes Sir the maturity make all the difference. I saw a few fire role vids of yours and wondered if the kudzu would work? I've never tried the fire role technique before.

I forgot to respond about Kudzu fibers potential for fire rolling. The first thing you need to determine is if the fiber embers.... if it melts like spider web, hair, or synthetic fibers, it won't work. 2nd, if you can break a pinch of the fibers with your hands, it is not strong enough to withstand the pressures of rolling. Jute, hemp, cotton, basswood bark, yucca, wisteria inner bark fresh, is a list of good fibers that have worked for me. There are many more, dogbane, milkweed, nettle, etc. Ashes, rust, Comet cleanser (dangerous fumes), and cayenne pepper has worked for me. Cotton and ashes are the easiest to learn on. Thanks!
