Thanks so much! Yes, they are very similar to DB Regio Dosto. Maybe it's a reason why DB canceled last order of these units and bought Stadler Dosto sets from Westbahn :-)
@@PeteBrandy That‘s not true, they didn‘t cancel any orders, just bought the Westbahn Stadler Kiss Units, because the Westbahn offerd them and they where like why not take them…
I heard that DB has stopped acceptance of the remaining 25 IC2 sets due to IC2’s software problems. But I don't know if the DB finally agreed with Bombardier
Have not seen these double decker units before so thanks for the review. No dining car on such a long route makes the ICE a better and quicker choice but for a couple of hours a coffee or drink in one of these comfortable seats is a good option. Dresden station looks beautiful. I am looking forward to seeing more of Leipzig station...I am a sucker for nice stations!
Thanks so much, Linda! :-) These units have been running for some time, but they are not very popular, originally as IC trains was used classic loco hauled sets (sometimes with control car), but now DB is replacing them with these double-decker sets, unfortunately without a dining car and only with on seat catering.
Thanks, Pete! I still enjoyed myself watching your video. My favorites are the double decker trains. But you say that the Lepizig station is the widest, I don't understand ??? You can, please, give us more photos and information about this station in the next video or another video. I'm curious, thank you very much to you Pete !!!
Thanks so much, Louis! In terms of area, Leipzig Station is the largest in Europe. I will show this station in more detail in one of my next videos. My journey to Leipzig continued, so I have prepared another video from the train I took from Leipzig (and of course the station also belongs to it). Greetings from Prague! :-)
I did this exact route, on the same train, in the same seat 2 days ago Pete 😂 I agree, the trains are fine, nothing special, at least they have some food and drink, no match for an ICE though. I guess I'll wait a while to do my video on this 😁
I saw you took this train, and of course, it's the best seat on this train :-D I think that these units are not very suitable for IC services, also these units are not even popular in Germany.
Díky! No měla by to být náhrada za klasicné IC soupravy (loko + klasické UIC vozy).
Opět velmi pěkné a podařené video!
If you stayed on IC2 it's going to bring you to West Germany from the Leipzig Riesa-Dresden Railway line via the former inner German border stations of Helmstedt Marienborn Magdeburg. The final part of IC2 Köln Dresden are Rhein Wupper Bahn Köln Solingen Wuppertal Steinbeck and Rhein-Ruhr Osten Railway line Wuppertal Steinbeck to Hagen Hbf via Wuppertal Oberbarmen where S8 S-Bahn Rhein Ruhr from the mainline which runs via Schwelm IC2 Köln Hagen Leipzig Riesa-Dresden. By the way I knew the final section because I'm interested in Train Sim World 2 by Dovetail Games. If you're interested in that game you can actually play the Dresden to Leipzig route up to Riesa Bahnhof.
Thanks for the information :-) I only traveled to Leipzig, from where I continued on another train to Chemnitz. But I'd also like to try this IC2 route towards Cologne.
@@PeteBrandy thank you for telling me able to see the whole Leipzig Riesa-Dresden Railway. Nice ride, smart looking train, have not been on one of the IC double deckers. Will give it a try, hopefully in December. Thanks for the ride Pete.
Thanks so much! These double-decker coaches are not so bad, but on many routes is better to take ICE :-)
For me it's a comfortable Regio train, but not a IC!
Great trip report 😊

In Poland Twindexx's is in use on "Koleje Mazowieckie" that is regio train in Mazowieckie voivodeship.
These look like great train sets. 😍 Thanks for taking us along. 👌
Thanks so much! Yes, they look as great sets, but they are not so popular in Germany, because are very similar to regional sets.
Ahoj Pete, thanks for this video. I will use this service as a part of a 18h long journey from CZ to Leeds 😀 thanks for inspiration 👍
Thanks for watching! I hope your journey will be nice 😎

Thank you for this report Pete. I'll be on this train also on 1st class from Dresden to Hannover next sunday on my way back to the Netherlands.
Thanks for watching! I hope you will enjoy your journey. These double-decker sets are not popular in Germany, but 1st class is spacious and quiet :-)
@@PeteBrandy I did enjoyed these double decker. It's so quiet and a really nice huge window at the upper deck.
@@ELAviation I also enjyed this train :-)

Great video Pete! The seat looks comfortable, but there is no dining car on a fairly long route which is shame. Btw very large litter bin 😂
Thanks so much! Wide seat in 1st class is the best on this unit.. but no dining was and layout same as on regional units.. :-/
another great report video Pete , liked
Thanks so much! :-)
nice trip report. I like Leipzig
Thanks! Me too, especially Hbf :-)
Sehr schönes Video muss ich sagen
Vielen Dank! :-)
nice report!
Thanks so much! :-)
Nice twindexx train and German country landscape dresden looks beautiful and yes Leipzig station is huge
Thanks! :-) Yes :-)
@@PeteBrandy no problem
getting your exercise ...with steps to climb

Thanks for the nice train ride and the views of some German countryside.

thats a very modern train
Almost :-D
nice day for traveling
Yes, sunny day:-)
I like those IC2-trains and prefer them to the older models. Best advantage: no more compartments thus no more middle-seats.
I agree, I also don’t like compartments. Here is good that you can book solo seat in 1st class
Great video 😉
Thank you, Sylwia :-)
Witaj ✋✋✋ Very good trip report from Germany Best wishes ✋✋✋
Cześć :-) Thanks a lot! Greetings to Poland :-)
ahoj super video :)
Ahoj, díky moc :-)
To bad on these ICE2 trains that they skipped the onboard restaurant.
Yes, I agree. It is a big mistake that they skipped the onboard restaurant or bistro on IC2 trains.
In Germany we don't Like this train because it is similar to regional trains
I agree. A year ago I travelled on Dosto on RE1 (Magdeburg - Berlin - Frankfurt Oder) route and the train was very similar, incl. seats
Opět velmi pěkné a podařené video! Blahopřeji!

Nádhera! Taky ho někdy musím zkusit. Nevíš, jestli nejezdí i okolo Frankfurtu?
Dík! No koukal jsem a přes Frankfurt mi to žádné IC2 nenašlo, jen klasické IC s lokomotivou a vozy.
Berlin 4 Cars Train White Not Long😮
which do you prefer - Twindexx or Kiss?
I prefer Stadler Kiss 😎

Nemusel, mám obě dávky
Prosím video zase v rychlovlaku v Česku ( SC, EC, LE, LET )
SC mám natočený Košičan Žilina - Praha, EC mám připravený Berliner a Metropolitan, LET se brzo chystám jet, takže určitě budou :-)
