Test Driving my New Guitar! (Ibanez AF55) - ‘Clyde’ (J J Cale)

- I added a cheap transducer mic to the Ibanez AF55, so I can use the body of the guitar for percussion sounds. I especially like the sound when played with brushes. I might do another short video specifically about getting a good sound from the transducer.

This guy needs a show in Vegas. I’ve seen some acts out there. They couldn’t carry his guitar let alone play it.

OMG this is amazing! So tight and in the groove! Don't know how it's being recorded (line out or mics) but it sounds crystal clear, there's no extraneous noise at all, just pure creative, instinctive, heartfelt music. 👍❤🙏😎
I use Loopy Pro on iPad as looper, and it let’s me record the whole thing multitrack

I've got an AF55 I originally bought for jazz work. I'm about to repurpose it for playing out & busking, similar to what you've got going.

The artcore,s are super fantastic... I picked one up. To test it.. As opposed to the 335. Same kinda deal.. think its an artcore 53. And i was amazed at how well it played and natural resonance and well made.. honestly.

I'm not familiar with the tune but it's a great groove you've got going. Interesting to see you using Loopy without a midi foot pedal and only the screen! Nicely done! I'd love to know your template in Loopy.
I use a Softstep 2 to control the loops. I use the screen to control sounds 🙂

@@AwayWithWordsMusic My template would be no use to anyone. Better to start from scratch. My main plugins are a free amp app called Crunck by Nembrini and a free suite called Mixbox, for delays. Their limiter is super great for mixes

Thanks for the video Markus. Love the Ibanez and the late great J J Cale's "Clyde". Have an AKAI APK mini but haven't tried it with Loopy Pro. You show they work well together. Presumably any amp simulator app can be use alongside Loopy Pro too?
Yes, Loopy Pro works with anything on iPad, either as internal effect or external app. It integrates really well

Hi Markus the Ibanez sounded good to me love your playing the slide sounded clean liked the delay effect too are you just using standard tuning.

Thanks for reply I sometimes play half step down never tried whole step, can do some slide in open D or G you've inspired me to learn some slide in standard tuning thanks.
@@spituce9681 I dampen the strings I am not playing so they don’t ring out. It takes a little getting used to but it’s worth it, also for open tunings. In standard tuning, strings 2,3&4 create a major triad, great for jamming in G . Enjoy 🙂

Cant go wrong with a J J Cale tune 😊. Does the HB go in retirement? The Ibanez guitars really are nice and good deal, maybe not so much as the recent HB’s (i got a sweet deal on a HB blue MBL modern , which I love playing). Peace and love
