After you add the sweet milk just mix till it comes together and leaves the side of the pan, not more then 2 minutes.... hope this helps... Happy cooking!

Okay there is only one reason it can become hard and that is if you added the condensed milk and still kept it on the stove for a longer period of time, you have to take it off the heat as soon as the ingredients come together. I just made 500 pieces and they all turned out really moist and soft!

Hi Rihanna I have made monthar before couple of times following your recipe turned out delicious and really good. Somehow yesterday I made it seemed dry when roasting then I added more butter became thick paste so I added again some more 3tbs began . It’s all crumply. and falling off could not get chosla. Is there way I can do something to get it it stick for pieces. May be retry with more butter??????

Nice and quick. I noticed in many if your video you coughing due to cooking and talking and all heat oil smoke goes direct to your lung you can shoot video without voice then record voice after cooking i have same problem
Thanks for your concern, it's not the cooking or heat I have damaged lungs and have a special respiratory machine at home for the therapy, it's not something that can be fixed, I will have it forever.
You should saute it till it turns redish in color for about 12 to 15 min and yes cut it while it's still warm, it's good to refrigerate after a couple days and it also freezes really well!
how come when we add milk it starts separating and you see water/ghee coming from the cooked monthar..How long do you have to stir after adding condensed milk
+Mumtaz Bhanji I have never seen the water or ghee coming out from the monthar, once you add the sweetened condensed milk stir it only until it comes together and quickly take it off the heat.
I needed to add more milk half.and half at the end it just didnt do at the end - need 20 min and 1/2 lb butter+ 2 tablespoon butter - u did not specify how much on heat after u but condense milk

The condense milk hardened the mohanthal.
Okay there is only one reason it can become hard and that is if you added the condensed milk and still kept it on the stove for a longer period of time, you have to take it off the heat as soon as the ingredients come together. I just made 500 pieces and they all turned out really moist and soft!
Only if you leave it on the stove for a very long time after you add the condensed milk!

I would add some condensed milk it and keep it on very low flame until it comes together again then try and set it
