I agree with that because I was a young adult when those games came out and I didn't own a Dreamcast but I do love Sonic Mania now and I want to introduce my godkids to Sonic from that game and the older games
I love the classic games growing up, but I adapted to the adventure series and stopped at forces, and I was disappointed in forces cause it didn't have that adrenaline feeling anymore, it was too slow! Lol!
@Itch-HeSay I used to be a hardcore Sonic fan and I think those plus Unleashed are the only truly great ones. Generations was the only post Unleashed game that actually felt like Sonic. Everything else was all over the place and didn't even feel like the characters. Besides the gameplay taking a nosedive over the years, that's another reason that I just fell out of love with Sonic when I got older. Feels like they don't even try anymore :/

With the right mods the best 3D Sonic is the PC version of Sonic Adventure 1. Unmodded it's the Dreamcast version. SA2 Battle has some of the best local multiplayer of all time though, along with the chao gardens.

The Advance games were all great! I’m a big fan of Colors on the Wii for the 3D games. I actually really enjoyed Lost World with its parkour moves as well. I wish they would work on improving that and incorporate it in more new 3D titles. It wasn’t perfectly executed but it was pretty fun.
