About SIREN:
“Siren” takes us inside Bristol Cove-a coastal town known for its legend of once being home to mermaids. When the arrival of a mysterious girl proves this folklore all too true, the battle between man and sea takes a very vicious turn as these predatory beings return to reclaim their right to the ocean. The series stars Alex Roe (“The 5th Wave”) as Ben, a bright marine biologist who finds himself drawn to a mysterious new girl in town, Ryn, played by Eline Powell (“Game of Thrones”), who is a strange young woman with a deep dark secret. Fola Evans-Akingbola (“An American Exorcism”) stars as Maddie, also a marine biologist who works with Ben, and is highly suspicious of Ryn. Ian Verdun (“Life’s a Drag”) stars as Xander, a deep sea fisherman on a quest to uncover the truth; and Rena Owen (“Star Wars” Episodes II and III) as Helen, the town eccentric who seems to know more about the mermaids than she lets on. Based on a story by Eric Wald and Dean White who both serve as executive produces. Emily Whitesell (“Finding Carter”) is on board as Showrunner and Executive Producer. Brad Luff, Nate Hopper and RD Robb are also attached as executive producers.

This is how a mermaid show should be done. Two years later but I am still in love with the show and it's realism.
show was amazing from start to finish. First episode into & i was already completely hooked. First day i watched 10 episodes in a row. So damn good!!!
@@imnoopYTyou better good standards when it comes to television, I don’t wanna waste my time on some bullshit fanfiction with good visuals
As far as mermaid transformations go, this may very well be the one we're looking for.
I like the transformation.. Its cool... No glowing lights and bubbles or rainbows... Natural👍👍👌
Idk why but this made me laugh.
I would've liked pieces of the skin to be illuminated, like those angler fishes that you see in movies.
But this is teen wolf version mermaids ahahahahah i love siren
Probably because its a siren.Sirens and Mermaids are different.
Unorthodox Lunar yeah but it’s really painful
Ryn: is an actual murderous predatory mermaid that can and will kill anyone that could possibly be a threat
Me: baby sweet sunshine child I love you
Samantha Martin actually not a siren a mermaid that's the thing the show got wrong. Sirens are half bird
Your Mom yeah I hate when people get that wrong
Myths have changed a lot, sirens are considered evil and more grotesque "mermaids" since a long time and the ones that are half bird and half human are now called harpies once they were called Sirens
Samantha Martin She baby
ryn is a siren there's a difference mermaids are loving creatures that fall in love with sailors but sirens are murderous predators but its ok not everyone knows lol
the Metamorphosis from Legs to Tail in this show is amazingly done. It's not the usual "oh no I can't touch water or poof I'm a Mermaid again"
She has to undergo a painful transition where her skin, muscles, and maybe even bones are pulled and stretched together to create her tail. You can really tell that the entire thing is extremely painful to her as well. It almost reminds me of Werewolf transformations in that the shape-shifting is beyond dangerous and takes a big toll on the user.
One thing in this show that I find absolutely genius is that she can SHED HER TAIL. It comes of like an actual snakes skin. If it decomposes quickly this might be why they are so undetectable at first.
Aside from my rambling, I do hope that Ryn and Donna can somehow coexist with the people in Bristol Cove. Overfishing seems to be the problem that led to Donna's capture and while they're intelligent beings, they still have lots of threats on land like the Government and humans being idiots in general.
I love when a TV show has detailed enough lore and backstory to elisite this level of thought. I've been thinking about this stuff too.
omg i love this comment
I love this comment
AquaAzeem how do you know her name is Donna?
Darius Toney the Actress said her name herself in several interviews.
That transformation is so detailed 👏👏 they did a great job in this show.. It's not all rainbows and unicorns 😊
Army??
inkingaus `` A.R.M.Y!!
inkingaus `` OMG ARMY ARE HERE TOO HI FAM 💜
inkingaus `` armyyyyygaaaa
in king a us ``
Sees creepy face jump scare into the camera... *jumps into the water*
Are you crazy??.
He wanted to see what was rlly going on
He saw Ryn and thought she was drowning
I love where Ryn is having a difficult time in breathing and is unable to walk. That she needs gets back into the water by just craw back. Also how she transform into back mermaid: first with her skin turns gray, then her teeth become sharper, and then her hand webbing from her hands, claws, back fin comes out, and finally her legs become a tail.
I think it all happens at the same time but it just shows it separately
@@icantswim8657
Super🦸♀️ surprising 😯.
I love😍 Ryn♀️'s mermaid🧜♀️ transformation🌠 as Princess👸 Ariel♀️'s mermaid🧜♀️ transformation🌠 in the 3D-animated "The Little Mermaid🧜♀️ 2: Return to the Sea🌊" 2000 movie🎦.
Ryn♀️ goes back into the water🌊, and she magically🌠 transforms into a mermaid🧜♀️:
First with body glows yellow🟡,
Her hair🦱 turns red🔴,
Her lips💋 turn red🔴,
Her glow-in-the-dark fingernails turn pink💖,
Her purple🟣 seashell🐚 bra👙 magically🌠 appears,
Her legs🦵 become a glow-in-the-dark, dark-green🟢 fishtail,
And her feet🦶 become 2 glow-in-the-dark, bright-green🟢 fishfins.
Happy😊 Christmas🎄 time⏰, and King🤴 God bless🙏 us, Everybody. 🌨❄☃️ 🐧 🎁🎄🌟!
I promise💛 you will have friends💑 in
Neola Town🏙, Iowa State🏞, North⬆️ America🇺🇲.
🌠🦸♀️🌌, 🎼🎺🎵, 🥳🎊🎆!
The transformation of the mermaids in this show absolutely fascinates me, I've always hated mermaid transformations that are just a puff of smoke and: *POOF* here's your new mermaid tail, no pain whatsoever! It's not like your bones, skin, muscles and (most likely) your genitalia fuse together to form the tail. I think this makes Ryn more of a badass, her friend(sister?) is captured and Ryn goes ashore to find her, undergoing an extremely painful transformation in the process.
Mer Girl2003 yet, it is unrealistic the shape she gets. The human-legged mermaids wouldn’t look like that. The more logical thing is that her legs become smaller until being her pelvic fins, which are the equivalent of tetrapods’ back limbs, and her coccyx growing into a tail, which also makes sense in fishes: they’re tails are a continuation of their spine.
Peter Salucci essentially the legs fuse together as a reaction from the sea water. Although it could be argued that this isn’t “logical” but hey there’s mermaids here what’s there not to discover?
Mermaids r known for they beauty this is a siren mermaid the opposite of a regular mermaid
@@danielgordon2329 yea Lots of ppl don't know the difference
sires are very different from mermaids
What type of idiot jumps in the water at night when you just saw a strange creature...
He thought she was drowning apparently lmao 😭
Ben pownall🤣
In the water... I kill. Or you kill.
-Ryn.
The way they made the mermaid transformation in this show adds a sense of realism that other mermaid shows (and shape shifter shows in general) do not have. Becoming something else when they transform can't be easy. These mermaids maintain a mystic quality while still providing some visual explanation of how the transformation happen (not just bubbles and glowing light).
A (made up by me) explanation of the difference between Siren mermaids and others like H2O, Mermaids or Splash is that the mermaids in those other shows are a different kind of mermaid. They live near the surface like in reefs and breath air, though they can hold their breath for a long time. You also see that they have a slight bend in their tails where the knee would be implying that their tails grow over their legs when they are in the water. Ryn and her kind live in the deep sea and have gills. They also have no knee bend, their tails are more flexible and can bend in any direction, meaning their bone structure is different. The reef dwellers are closer to being human so there is less for them to change when they transform. The deep sea dwellers have greater changes to go through (bone structure, going from gills to lungs, etc.) which is why it may be more difficult and painful for them to change.
Brianna Johnson if Ryn can flex her tail up and down, then her transformation is also unrealistic. We can see her that her tail is made out of her legs’ bones. To flex like that, her tail would need to grow from her coccyx, similar to cetaceans and all fishes in general, whose tails are a continuation of their spines. Otherwise, it wouldn’t make sense that she has legs under her tail
@@Stinoco she undergoes rapid metamorphosis, her leg bones disappears and reforms into another tissue or becomes just one bone that will support the tail like it becomes a continuation of her spine when she becomes a mermaid, her legs are not wrapped inside her tail if thats what ur implying.
Omg I so much love this comment,it makes so much sense
@@Stinoco Ryn is a deep sea mermaid. For her kind, their bone structure changes when they transform; we can hear her bones break and restructure.
I said it was the reef mermaids (like from H2o for example) whose tails seem to grown over their legs, which is why they still have the knee bend
Brianna Johnson it distill doesn’t make sense. Yess mermaids’ tails seem to be a continuation of the column, which means that the tail must grow from the coccyx, not from breaking the legs.
Besides, the fact that vessels and blood are exposed while being transformed doesn’t make sense. The blood’s composition and blood vessel would be affected by the water and salinity, not to mention that the water can get into her tail while transformation, touching muscles, bones, other organs, and that would mess up the anatomy of their tails.
I love how the fish tail is more "natural" (CGI)made and look realistic, not like the other mermaid movies with a plastic tail and a bra.
This is the first mermaid series I like !
I totally agree, that is also a thing why I like this series. Plus they don't have tons of makeup like other mermaid movies so they look cheap and trashy.
Ahhhhh Splash still holds up today... same with the mermaids in Hook... not to mention the Mermen in the Madonna video... all practical effects....
If you’re going after H20 I’m sorry but that’s my childhood ya talking about
But I still love h2o
The theme is on this first episode, the tail is not made by PC. It's silicone but they didn't use her again. If you don't believe search it. It's extended and if you see when she attacks she don't goes full down the tail and it's more fat than PC mermaid tail
ok seen this episode but seriously I still got to ask as soon as he seen her in the video camera's underwater he goes and runs and jumps in. I am like hello don't do that
Theri4444 exactly because we all know if he would have jumped in a and see her transform into a man-eating killer mermaid she would attack his ass. But I got to say he's lucky to be alive because if he would have stayed in that tank longer then he would be dead
then the other thought is maybe and just maybe he thought that someone fell in by accident and needed help, and yes I know it would be stretching it
At that time he didnt know she was a mermaid, he probably thought she fell in so he was trying to save her.
He was under her trance
Or he probably wanted to see a real mermaid who he liked in person with his own eyes
I was really surprised by how scary that transformation actually was, and the whole nature of this show has definitely kept me interested!
WOW. Nice acting! I really love that the whole thing wasn't stupidly "glamorized" or "censored" so it was more suitable for people that came to see a weird mermaid that had sparkles or whatever. wonderfully done.
It's still censored in that any nudity is obscured or out of frame.
This transformation is the best ever!
Is no-one gonna acknowledge the fact that he just jumped in the water without question and held his breath for so long?
BazZ alex roe (the actor) could hold his breath for 4 minutes according to the panel meeting.
Leslie Fairchild o
I don't remember this transformation on H2O 😂😂
She’s a shapeshifter they are not
I mean they are mermaids regular ones this is a siren mermaid there's a difference
I would never jump into the water after witnessing something like that what if she straight up devour me😢😧 no thanks😂😬
Scary transformation for a creepy mermaid 😱😱😱
I'm so seeing Ariel in a new light
lol
If It's the sort of light where she has vampire fangs and kills people then I agree O_O xd
Lol
😂😂
lol Ariel is a mermaid she’s a siren really big difference
Idk why but I love the way they scream as they transform
At first...
Me: Awwwww she's so desperate for water...
*4seconds later...
Me:O My Flarps! She's a demon! Yassssssss GURLLLLLL!
Me still: Y u doin that to ure future gurl😐...
She is a beauty! 😂😂😂😍😍😍
BeanieBoolova680 tigerlilly680 why is this me lol😭😭
BeanieBoolova680 tigerlilly680
The first time I watched the episode I was freaked out by this scene, I wasnt ready for such a realistic way of mermaid transformation lol.
Hiii can u plz tell me where can I watch all episodes of this, I not able to find episodes where can I get these plz reply
Thx dear
It gives me chills, guys
Her scream sounds so powerful so I'm pretty sure that would be heard hundreds miles far away
That’s some good ass CGI work
IKR?! Love The CGI Too. It's Like As If Ryn's Transformation Is Real Because It Looks That Way.
that's the transformation that actually made me watch the whole 1st season the whole day
DAAAAAAAMN, Ariel went full blown savage man lol
Sees a scary creature in the ocean
Immediately jumps in
200 IQ moment
I’m like a huge fan of mermaids and sirens because they are my favorite myth ✌️💙💙🐚
#MERMAIDSQUAD
One of the best shows that nobody talks about
Ben: *Jumps into water*
Hermione: "What an idiot."
*this is truly horrifying. Nice.*
I think the man just wanted to become a siren himself
The scream ist woow
This is excatly how i see any werewolf of anthropomorphic animal shape shift. Very well made
go watch the series its worth watching
That look's like a very painfull transformation 😕
agree
If i saw one I'd kill it, and any witch who tried to protect these abominations. They are very real.
Someone please vote too get them back such a good show.
This show is the best!!! Excellente!!!! Always looking forward to the next episode and what is next. It is so intriguing and so mysterious. It reminds me of that movie "She Creature". This scene of transformation is my most favorite. How amazingly the body turns into a creature and you can feel the pain Ryn undergoes while she changes. Eline Powell is such a great actress. She takes the best portrayal of a siren. So glad to watch shows like this. The story itself is very captivating apart from the thought of a mermaid. Please keep the quality of this story consistent. Cannot wait for the next episodes!!! Go go Ryn, swim them out!!!☺
Why did he think jumping into the water was a good idea?
Whoa! That Creepy transformation shit scared me SOOOOO bad!
They actually used the real tail in this episode
This looks so amazing! I really like how natural the transformation is.
This show is so underrated
i love this tv series so much, it's perfect, i just hope that there will be a season 2 please
Finally freeform found a lead actress who can act well
Siren is my favourite series
The transformation had me shook But Amazed at the same time
go watch the series its worth watching
This is HORRIFYINGLY AWSOME
This is why you don’t go into the water when mermaids are around.
1:05 Scared everything out of me ._.
Just finished watching episode 1! I am not sure wether to be interested or disgusted at her transformation.
Possibly both but more interested.
is this serie on netflix? please
raq javier unfortunately not
Where did you watch? Is it for free?
Watching this scene to a song called "she’s a monster “ by Adam Taylor. Absolutely amazing .
This is best mermaid version ever😘😘
I love being a pisces 🧜🏻♀️💙
Such a great show! Finna binge the WHOLE THING!
😰 looks painful
Leopardess Life & Beauty I started to hurt when I seen this part.
Mattie Kingori 😂 me too just close your eyes after a while😂😊
It is painful cause her bones, muscles, etc are pulling together and you saw the dorsal fin on her back and it’s growing from her back so it is gonna be really painful..
You don't say
Siren was an absolutely fantastic film and the special affects were absolutely brilliant and so real.
Wow! this is brilliant! The transformation was on point!
This scene was so Epic i watched it a good 10 times Lol.
Ryn girl .. Ur a bad ass ...lol❤❤😂😂😂😁
regena graham So true
YEEEES! 💖💖
That transformation is 😎 to fight ben
They finally didn’t do those weird colored mermaid stuff, because, apparently, mermaids are grey, i suppose because in some videos. (I’m not saying it’s true.)
I’m not saying it’s true. But, 10% of the ocean has been discovered. So, that means 90% of the ocean has not been discovered, which means, there’s a lot of freaky things out there.
I assume sirens and mermaids can be different colors depending the place and circumstances they're living in to survive.
well i theorize that mermaids are deep ocean beings, so that means all of them are pale colors so yah.
Nothing like H2O transformations...thanks for that, it look really good and "realistic"
Pisses me off to no end that they had the audacity to cancel this show. I was really looking forward to the shows final season.
This is my FAVORITE show its the BEST
I would love another season. ☹️. Pleaaaaseee. I really liked this show.
Cool transformation like that! That's what i called justice transformation!!!
I would not even go in the water if I were that guy
This show is what my oc is based off of. I love it
Imagine if sirens still existed
Super cool the transformation
Shows like *Dark* and *the terror* were amazing
I remember the first time I watched this my dad and I watched it together and he was like WTF😂
I love the transformation
I wish I'll be like ryn just like her as a mermaid
I’m sorry but what the hell he thought jumping in was gonna do 😂
This was such a great series sorry it’s over.
What a scary transformation.
OH.MY.FREAKIN.GOSH.
IM SUBSCRIBING
SIREN 😨😰😭
I love u siren
This was the BEST realistic depiction of mermaids ive ever seen cuz its not disneyfied or hollywood bullshit!💙🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
(other than Mermaids The Body Found..yes i know its branded as 'fake')!
Love this show & cant wait for season 2!!💙🦀🐚🌊⛵🐟🐬
I love this serie, my favorite one. Love mermaids
Sirens
I'm still waiting on season 4 please 😁😁
Cries in corner:WE GOT A SPECIAL POWER THAT IM NOT AFRAID TO USE
my mermaid sims when their hydration is low
go watch the series its worth watching
Cc: screaming
Everyone: no sh!t sherlock
I'm glad Ben wasn't to badly hurt By Ryn but Just like Sharks water is there home territory.
A little scary but amazing
Right
Why is my favorite part where her legs are pulled together?
Why did he jump into the damn pool after seeing that?!
He thought she was drowning. He only saw her face not her tail
Im a bit late but this scene was not done with cgi but a real silicone mermaid tail. 1:32
I'M 12 AND I JUST WATCHED THE FIRST THINGY AND I'M ALREADY ATTACHED!!!!
Mark my words guys, the mermaid in the military base is Ben's Girlfriend's mom
her name is maddie
lol plot twist : maddie s also a siren
That’s exactly what I was thinking
That’s what I thought too! Since she went missing and also happens to look similar to her. May also be why Maddie felt a “connection” with Ryn. Ooo it feels like torture waiting for the next episode!!
N E F E L I B A T A yessss
I cannot believe this was 5 years ago....
I know time moves scary 😟 fast
THE TRANSFORMATION IS LIKE SO AMAZING SO COOL!! ITS SO AWESOME IDK WHAT TO SAy?!
This is so great. Hi from Lutz Florida USA
Love the mermaid, part of the Slithereen group. Reminds me of nega siren from dota 2 LMAO..
Eesh! Wow that's awesome
I love this show
