    Do what we do in lake fishing to gauge the bottom. Send out a bear lead and test the bottom with some pull backs. Saves losing gear.
    Love the videos.

      Cheers bud glad you’re enjoying them. I’ve done a fair bit of carp fishing and only problem with feeling a lead through is the tide, if you have a clear spot in front and rocks/boulders unbeknown to you to the side of you you’ll likely get pulled round into the snags when there is some tide run. Beauty of fishing the sea is that it’s effectively like emptying the lake every 12 hours with the low tide which allows you to physically see the whole area in front of you.

      Hi bud, thanks for the comment and glad you enjoyed. If I’m honest I’m from the other side of the country in Plymouth and just went off of a bit of local advice myself, sorry but I don’t know the area in the slightest. It was down the end of a small lane which practically took me to the beach, I’m sure you can get it up on google maps as there doesn’t seem to be much else there?

    What are the flappy rubber things at the base of the reel ? Do they aid in casting, what are they called and where do I get them ?

    • @ukfishslayer
      @ukfishslayer  Месяц назад +1

      The rubber things definitely help with casting, they help to grip the line and stop you from getting cut and burns on your thumb. They are made out of a bit of bicycle inner tube rubber. I wouldn’t use the multipliers on the beach without them

      @ukfishslayer i was debating weather to get one but the knob is putting me off ,i know you can get a flat dial conversion so maybe santa will briing me one. Still love me original mag 525 super extra with pimpmyreel mono mag conversion so i can keep the clicker too.

    • @ukfishslayer
      @ukfishslayer  2 месяца назад +1

      @@nicksparkes1378 have blasted through a few mag 525s in the past but the casting specials have lasted out 3 or 4 years now and for me that’s good as I normally wreck em lol you better get writing Santa a letter for a cheeky crimbo pressie 😂

    • @kf8575
      @kf8575 2 месяца назад +2

      @@nicksparkes1378 regarding the Casting Specials, there is now a mod for the control knob that reduces the size of it.
      Personally i bought one about 6 months ago, and dont see any difference between that one and the pair of Fathom 15SD mags i have.
