This is adorable🥺 I haven’t been able to help but think of how lonely Lucas must be now without the little family he once believed he’d have, but this just lightened my heart a bit. He’s just the dearest of men and deserves every bit of Christmas tenderness
I don't think he'll be lonely, he's kicken it in Union City & my money is on Fiona & him getting together. I thought that from the start
@@nancyross3964 you could be right, but I just don’t think it’s in line with his character.
Lucas loves Christmas as much as he does because to him it meant family ACTUALLY being together, and that was especially special to him because of how lonely his childhood was. Now, not only is he far from his home in HV (which the S7 Christmas special showed him realizing he was truly a part of), but he lost the woman he thought to be the love of his life (who he said he’d wait for and love forever) and the boy he wanted to be a father to, who he wanted to be his child. Lucas rues Christmas Day because that means the season is over, and it always seemed to me that if he had the family he always wanted, who he could love and would love him year round, would soften and make beautiful what used to bring him ache.
Now it’s about two and half months gone by since October when his wedding would have been and where his new life and family would have started, and I can’t see that being easy for him.
Lucas feels deeply, especially when it comes to love. Losing love is something that seems almost impossible to him because true love is so elevated in his perception. True love lasts forever in his eyes.
Lucas was finally not going to wake up alone, in a silent house. Now he’s going to wake up in an even bigger house, and the silence even stronger.
I’m not a big fan of Fiona and Lucas, but it could happen. I’d prefer Faith and Lucas on the basis for how kind she’s been to him in the past, but I’d overall just prefer singlehood or a new character for him. I think he needs time to heal though, deserves it. He thought the dreams and hopes he’s had since a very lonely childhood were finally coming true. I don’t see that healing soon, and I hope the show gives his character time to process.

I believe this was done because a certain someone thought someone else was getting more attention. The entire season was sloppy and silly. To kill a love story that was years in the making is all wrong. Season 10 will be used as an example of how not to write a storyline. We were treated like idiots.
