I met Al Green in 2006 in Newport News, Virginia. He did an outside concert with over 20,000 people in attendance. I worked for the City of Newport News and the police let me stand beside his limousine until he got out. He talked to me for about 3 minutes and let me take all the pics I wanted. I'll never forget how nice he was. The legendary Al Green!
The most soulful voice that ever graced this earth. I feel blessed to have see him sing in person and definately a highlight in my life. A religious experience.
Hi JT, The Rev. Al Green is one of a kind, with a unique & iconic voice that is so recognizable the moment he opens his mouth & hits the 1st note!!! There's only 1 Rev. Al Green and there will never be another like him!!! 💯% Smoother than "hot tanning oil" and "melted butter!!!" 👍👍
My number 1 pick to play Al Green is Maxwell... Plus Maxwell killed this same song in a tribute to Al Green... AL Green did a live latter year's version of " Simply Beautiful" and killed it.. In this particular performance it's an older age Al Green on stage in a black suit....
Honestly, I think of Maxwell when I think of this song. Al Green is the man, but Maxwell had a couple of dudes beside themselves during that performance 😄.
Al Green was the man in the 70's. I was too young to appreciate the sexiness (I loved Michael Jackson back then), but I still liked his music and my aunt loved him. Check out his Soul Train performance of "Here I Am". If only I was old enough back then. Whew, the man was on fire.
Tyrese been working on Teddy Pendergrass movie forever. You may new a newcomer for Al Green. You should check out "Belle" which is a masterpiece, made after a woman through hot grease in his face.
Years ago, at The Greek Theater, in Los Angeles, The Dramatics and Al Green performed. I've seen many concerts in my time, and this concert, by far, was the best.
This brotha’s voice is undeniably one of the best ever
This takes me back to Yonkers, New York in the 70's🎹🎸🎤🎼🎶

Lakeith Stansfield would be a good fit to play him (based on looks and acting abilities).
The whole I’m Still In Love With You album is worth a listen. Don’t be surprised if you find yourself downloading the whole album.
I listen to that album every week after my last day of work.
Nobody can do Al Green, who sounds like Al Green!!!
Enjoyed seeing Jennifer Hudson sing to Al Green n his reaction was ok simply beautiful

The LEGENDARY Iconic Mr Al Green
This song is a simply beautiful ❤ Classic 👍
Al Green can do that! Whoever plays him would have to be a singer first.
This is when black music was music. None of the new school artists can touch can touch the Ole school artists.
Smoothest song in history hands down!
Yes it is ...... Simply Beautiful my favorite song of all time
That man can sing!
I believe this was one of my suggestions. I'm glad you got around to it. It's one of my many favorites of his.
Always gives me a chuckle when people listen to Al because inevitably the word "smooth" is going to get said. The dude was the epitome of smooth.
CLASSIC
Al Green is a musical legend! His has soul/R&B coming out his pores!!
That guitar is killing me! The song is wonderful! Also, (What a Wonderful Thing Love Is!) ia also on the same Album as this one!

This is the song you get to throw one of your hands up and I get to say " Ahh no she didn't!!!".
Queen Latifah does a nice cover of this.

I think Larenz Tate could play Al Green. Actor Travante Rose could & SHOULD play Teddy Pendergrass ..Travante was in the 2021 Billie Holiday movie
