Meghan Markle and Prince Harry wrap up Africa tour | 5 News

► The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were all smiles as they began the final day of their Africa tour, which has been overshadowed by Harry's scathing attack on the British tabloid press.
The couple looked relaxed when they arrived in a Johannesburg township to learn about an ambitious project, launched last year by South Africa's President Cyril Ramaphosa, which aims to tackle the critical issue of youth unemployment by creating one million new work opportunities in the next three years.
Meghan and Harry travelled to Tembisa township a day after the duke released an unprecedented statement heavily criticising certain sections of the press for conducting what he called a "ruthless campaign" against his wife.
The duchess smiled broadly when she was greeted by Melony Campbell, from the British High Commission, who introduced the couple to Tashmia Ismail-Saville, chief executive officer of the Youth Employment Service (YES).
During their final day in Johannesburg the couple also met Graca Machel, widow of Nelson Mandela, a national figure Harry met during a 2015 visit to South Africa.
Harry gave a speech in the open air and, with Meghan beside him, talked about how his father the Prince of Wales brought him to Africa in the months following the death of his mother Diana, Princess of Wales, in 1997.
He said: "Ever since I came to this country as a young boy, trying to cope with something I could never possibly describe, Africa has held me in an embrace that I will never forget and feel incredibly fortunate for that.
"Every time I come here I know that I'm not alone. I always feel wherever I am on this continent that the community around me provides a life that is enriching and is rooted in the simplest things - connection, connection with others and the natural environment.
"And as I raise my own son, I'm going to make sure that what I've learnt here - the value of the natural world, the value of community and friendship - is something that I can pass on to him."
The Sussexes are also attending a creative industries and business reception at the residence of Britain's High Commissioner to South Africa Nigel Casey.
The tour comes to an end when the duke and duchess meet South Africa's President Cyril Ramaphosa, and First Lady Dr Tshepo Motsepe in Pretoria for a private audience.

Meghan is very very extraordinary human being. Excellent writer and speaker. Her speech is beyond compare. My heart goes to her. Doria brought up a talented young woman and now duchess of Sussex. Happy is a lucky man and prince Archie a very lucky son.

Meghan and Harry have PR teams that do everything... Their speeches, their speaking tours, where they show up....they manage everything. They don't do any of this on their own...it is all managed...including speaches.

@@CarriUSA Did you ever lost in to the speech she delivered at the United Nations before she met Harry without notes I may add. You should know that she is a very extensive reader. If you research her website the Tig you would have an idea of what a great writer she is. I remember she giving us a list of books which we could read during the summer. The same way we have a playlist of songs she had one of books.
Why do people have to be so nasty towards the Dutch and Duchess of Sussex I really don’t understand it they are a wonderful couple their Africa tour has been a joy to watch. Agnes....she's not half black. Doria is 1/4 black...she has mixed raced parents. Meghan is 3/4 white and identifies as white. Plus....she has nothing to do with mixed race family. Awww! Prince Harry then said “now my wife will speak to you without notes.” Loved it.
Meghan is an experienced speaker - having had years of training and practice in learning and delivering lines. However, in my opinion, her speeches sound too scripted and repetitive. Nothing really original. It would be nice to hear something revelatory for a change.

It really is no big deal. I do it all the time. No doubt you can too, if you know what you want to say. I thought Prince Harry’s comment was cute, no more. I was not pointing out something that is extraordinarily. Sometimes HRH Duchess Meghan does have notes.

That is because the audience is NOT entirely ENGLISH. The Commonwealth is a DIVERSE community whose knowledge of the English grammar is more precise and better than NATIVE English speakers. Check it out. The Duchess knows this as she has been to these communities before she met Prince Harry in her previous work with the UN.
This is why i Love her she is so intelligent, smart and a great speaker. This is why Prince Harry Married her not for her looks or how she looks in clothes but her beautiful mind. Prince Harry did not want stepford wife he wanted someone who can challenge him intellectually and let him grow and that is what Meagan is doing. She is so in inspiration to me.
