    This video is on “HETP - Understand The Concept and Its Effect on Height of Packing“. The target audience for this course is chemical and process engineers and chemical engineering students.
    HETP is an important sizing parameter in the design of packed column. Packed columns are widely in several applications across wide range of chemical process plants including and refineries, petrochemical plants. Knowledge and understanding of the HETP concept is important for the process and chemical engineers who either design or operate the packed columns. This video focuses on the concept of HETP, the system parameters that affect the HETP and illustration with real world system which use packed columns and the effect of system properties on the values of HETP and the height of packed columns.

    Is the" hetp vs vapor rate" curve explanation same for "hetp vs liquid rate(liquid loading)"?? Actually i want to know is liquid loading affects samely as like vapour loading_ thanks

    • @SPEC786
      @SPEC786  Год назад

      Thanks for your question.Colum performance is studied as a function of vapour load with liquid loading as variable. At constant vapour load you can vary the liquid loading rate and study the performance in terms of HETP and pressure drop. Packed column holdvup is a function of vapour and liquid load.

    we are taking mellapack 750 cy and have hetp i.e height of single packing is 160 mm how ?

  • @venkateshkademane2098
    @venkateshkademane2098 2 года назад

    why hetp for wire mesh packing is 160 mm and sheet metal 200?

    • @SPEC786
      @SPEC786  2 года назад

      HETP is a function of several factors. The video explains them in detail. The geometry and size of the packing are the packing related factors which impact the HETP. Paking like wire mesh or gauze structured packing specially made some demanding applications.It is the geometry that makes it more efficient .The unique surface structure through its torturous flow paths provides moe efficient mixing of liquid films hence the HETP is lower.

      Thanks for your comment. I have checked the original video. I could not find any of that sort you highlighted. I need more inputs to check it again. It is related to figures? Or can you give the video timing so that I can look for slide where this problem is appearing? It would be helpful
