      Glad you like them! I enjoy the podcast. I’ve met a number of people have asked the questions and it gives me hope about the world. They’re a lot of good people out there.

    The press is the nemesis of every lifter. I'm at the stage where if I'm doing presses and I see a ladybug on the kettlebell, then I'm googling the weight of a ladybug and counting that as a PR.

    Outstanding! I am on the 3rd barbell program of the Armour Building after finishing the first two programs prescribed in your book. I followed it per your instructions using just the bar for the presses, curls, and now front squats. Take it from an ole Marine, even if it was too light for some of the movements there was value in this approach. Be patient and follow the programs. I said it before, Dan has already battle tested this program.

      In my gym, we don’t do them excessively, but they are a nice compliment to a lot of other things we do. My spellcheck doesn’t seem to understand how to spell the word!!

      Experiment complete. ES style 3x3 progressed from the bar to 115lbs single over 3-4 weeks. Biggest thing I noticed is a straighter up back posture day to day. I had good posture to start so a noticeable improvement is definitely worth seeing.

      I like doing the audibles, but it takes weeks and very few get sold. So, probably not. I could possibly read a chapter a week or something....put it on the site.

    Hi mr Dan,in the 100 snatch test you doing it with the unbroken protocol,can you switch hands with a hand to hand swing,or you can put down the kettlebell and rest if you want looking always for the clock ofcorce 😁?

    • @DanJohnStrengthCoach
      @DanJohnStrengthCoach  3 месяца назад +1

      I'm not about the question, but with the RKC test you can put the bell down as often as you like. I just hate the test so I just get through it as fast as I can.

    Great podcast episode sir, enjoyed it as usual
    A thought popped into my head as i was watching:
    your Easy Strength for Fat Loss protocol and your Lift & Sprint protocol ( I do miss them being called Litvinovs ) feel like cousin programs
    Itd be interesting running them as park bench and bus bench programs cyclically, throughout a year

    Loved your comments on "ABC with barbells". You had me laughing Coach. Your commonsense approach to training has helped me immensely over the years. Thanks. Just started the ABC program in your new book and I am thoroughly enjoying it. Best twenty bucks I've ever spent.

    I bought ABF few weeks ago and I am enjoying the trip… just a question: would it make sense to use 2 weights levels in the 2,3,5,10 sets ? (I mean for the 10s making a drop… because I do feel the barrier in ramping there) or would it jeopardize the rational of the method?
    Thanks for sharing so much of your experience and knowledge!

    If I may expand upon 2nd Ben’s question: if we apply the kettlebell armor building complex sequence of exercises directly to the barbell (i.e. barbell (power) clean x 2, barbell overhead press x 1, barbell front squat x 3), what is that we miss by doing the program in this way?
    I was going to save this question for after I had run the program, but since Ben asked I figured I might as well. From having read the book, my guess would be biceps, since the kettlebell clean has more bicep involvement than the barbell clean. But I can’t help wonder what your thoughts are on this

    • @DanJohnStrengthCoach
      @DanJohnStrengthCoach  3 месяца назад +1

      That's a good point...you are probably on the right track here with this insight. I just found that the pure barbell ABC wasn't working but this might be part of it.

    • @deo.strengthspan.project
      @deo.strengthspan.project 3 месяца назад

      @@DanJohnStrengthCoach if I may pry more, what was it that was observed when the “pure” barbell ABC (2 cleans, 1 press, 3 front squats) “wasn’t working?”
      Not the same amount of hypertrophy achieved as when done with kettlebells? Not the same feeling of effort exerted (i.e. rate of perceived exertion) compared to kettlebells? Something else?
      The more I think on it, the tension required to keep the kettlebells in the front rack is different than the barbell. Whereas the barbell can more just “sit” in that notch in between our shoulder bones and deltoids, the kettlebells don’t just “sit” in the front rack as we must actively resist them being pried down off from our chests by gravity. I’m thinking this difference in systemic tension requirement in the front rack, and therefore the whole complex, may add up to having an effect on our end results (i.e. hypertrophy).
