Great ideas! I'm currently trying to revamp my DM folder(s) so that I don't get lost when I'm trying to find stuff (I DM at a friend's house so everything needs to be portable.
I am contemplating creating a setting that takes place solely in a sprawling metropolis and its surrounding area that will draw influences from places like Waterdeep and Lankhmar. I do believe you can find already made encounter tables for Mystara on one of the source sites.

I find I will use this more than a DM screen. Most of my DM prep is making sure this folder has the relevant info I think I will need :D
