I've tried ice fishing a few times and I found it incredibly boring. I could see if one was used to static fishing like with power bait. Maybe that type of fisherman would be sufficiently entertained. I like actively casting lures that mimic foods the fish eat. Then being able to quickly move to another spot that's more adventurous when needed. To each their own.
