Fossil Machine Skull Wagon is really interesting. Jesse doesn't explain it in detail here, but this card is probably better than N'tss for its ability to banish itself so it can be reattached to Arise-Heart. N'tss, however, can only be used once, and in my experience it rarely goes to the graveyard, and if it does it's before there's any impactful target on the field. Plus, you have to use N'tss at that time, whereas you can hold Skull Wagon's effect for later.
Hello Kotton, I had the same idea as you for the Kashtira deck to put x 1 level 4 and 2 pot desires in my deck list! It comforts me by telling me that my deck list is not weird.
Jesse .. Thank you so much! can you please share your reasoning for Book of Moon > Evenly Matched as “the better card”. Is that because it’s better going both 1st and 2nd? Where Evenly is MUCH better going 2nd and MUCH worse going 1st? Of the 3 cards, which are best and would you prioritize over others, if for instance you only had 11 slots ? Or 8 slots? Which would be the next card you cut to two, (Lance, Eclipse, Moon)
He had space for 14 non-engine. Plays the best at 3 and the worst at 2. If he had space to play 15 non-engine he would have played 3 Evenly. I don't see anything wrong with his logic.
@@alphander7478 there is also no feelable difference from 40 and 41. so yes its because he only wants to see it sometimes. plus lock 5 in the mirror makes evenly funny
@@davecatss6652 You might not feel the difference, but mathematically it's there. I guess Evenly is good enough to be played, but not good enough to lower your consistency by going over 40. The way I see it: Jesse had 38 cards he wanted to play and was looking for something to fill the remaining 2 spots.
@@davecatss6652 Yes, and I personally don't have a problem with playing 41 or 42 cards. But look at it this way: You're going to a tournament that you want to win. You could make it more likely to win by playing 40 cards, since you want to see the right Kashtira cards. Let's say over the many games you have to play, having a 40 card main instead of 41 gives you a 1% increased chance to take the tournament. Why would a hyper competitive player not do that?
1 Riseheart bc you "dont need flashy plays" Kinda seemd like you do if you only made top 16 on the best deck being one of the best players at one of the freest venue
This is not a good reasoning. First of all, losing 1 match isn't sufficient evidence to call any deck bad. For example if your opponent is playing telefon ftk, goes first and trash you game 1 and 3 because you don't see enough hand traps, you could be the most skilled player in the room with the best deck of the format, you're still going to lose. To add on on that, if you have complete knowledge of your opponent decklist you can probably create a deck that will beat it more than 50% of the time because you have the right conters, regardless of skill (not completely, you still need to play good but you will have a definite advantage even if you're a worst player). This is not true in tier 0 format like ishizu tear where deckbuilding only get you so far but in this format where you have to decide between Nib and golem and evenly for mass removal and more targeted cards like books, chalice, kaijus,... it is very relevant. It is to say that you usually create a deck tailored to beat the most representated decks/tech choices, not to win every match. In this regard, making one arise heart only and not doing full combo might have win him most of his matches, the fact that it did not win him the top 16 match is not sufficient evidence to say that this choice disserved him.
