@tomiejie Uh, in a nut shell, the helicopter would be modelled (I'm guessing in 3DS MAX) then an animation would be made from it, so it assembles together like in the middle, it would then be rendered out in multiple passes (Ambient occlusion, specular, reflections, shadows, diffuse etc) and then composited together and blended into live footage. It's actually not that difficult, just takes a very long time.
You can get ''imitation'' of surround just with stereo channels.There are ways to do it , people made sounds like that 20,30 years ago only with 2 speakers and sound is really going in strange directions.But you need to be pro mixer in order to achive that.That's why Dolby (as sound engineer) came and invented many good things we use today when we speak of music , not only audio for video and we can do much more.

Such a software isn't a real surroudsound. What it does is: Play the left signal to the left speaker, the right signal to the right speaker. It combines left and right signal for the center, and for the surroundspeaker it inverses the phase. thats it ;)

mmm poes no entendi bien la pregunta. cuando un canal transmite en HD automaticamente transmite el sonido en DOBLY (es un estandar). para aprecair un sonido 3D (5.1 / 7.1) necesitas un televisor HDMI: sistema que incluye no solo la imagen sino tambien el sonido digital pero sin comprimir. salu2!
is it just me that realized that the maker of this video failed completely the helicopter that is at 0:59 appears to be a Boeing AH-64 Apache 2 seater where the pilot and the gunner sits in front of each other (the gunner is seated in front of the pilot) but at 1:00 there is a problem there is only one pilot no gunner or secondary pilot just one guy sitting in what appears to be a uh-1y transport helicopter (the venom from battlefield 3/4) which has no missiles or automatic canon in the front which can be seen being used in one part of the video much research was put in to this (not at all) and the creator can learn from their mistakes. -edit it looks more like a European tiger but that doesn't changed the fact that the creator didn't do research
@ Florian Knodl: Do you not have an multi-ch amp that can make this sound easily almost as good as genuine 7.1? Like Dolby PLII-X or THX Ultra/Select with a Dolby or DTS matrix? Easy when you know how. YES i know its not native 7.1 PCM but it sounds pretty good to me...
any one of u can get 7.1 from youtube? or maby 5.1? if yes so how do u have connected from graphic card to you reciver via hdmi? I did it but reciver doesnt see DTS HD and DD just PCM and just from speakers there is sound
i have headphones siberia v2 + siberia usb virtual 7.1 sound card...the best thing that i heard is avatar 1080p + original eng 5.1 sound... (i heard everything: bullets, footsteps, breaths...)

you can ask at what RUclipsr you want, he'll say that youtube do not take care of more than the stereo youtube convert automaticaly the uploaded video in flv and that format does not suport the 3d sound
Ummm.. It's in stereo... not 7.1 because only the front speakers of my Acoustimas 10 (model AMS10) with the Sony 7.1 (DH720) reciever with the audio settings through HDMI set to 5.1, actually produce noise.

Iennal because sound comes from infinite locations around us and its the way and direction the sound hits your ears that creates "surround sound"
