This should be the standard of climbing films. This shows that you don't need the hardest of the hardest boulders to make a sick film. Good lines, good movement, and dope film making is gonna do it.
1 comment for so many times I've seen this masterpiece of hypnotic creative beautifully dark mix of visuals, sounds, emotions and superb uncorrupted climbing wasn't enough for my consciousness, hence writing this one too. Michael and all Tension crew deserves a M views and comms; you got into a new level! ❤🔥
There is something to be said for not just what you climb but how you climb it. Every problem in this film is executed with perfect style. Fluid and smooth with no desperate thrutching and readjusting. Its like the climbers must have done laps on each problem to get the smoothest take. So awesome and masterful.
I feel as if the mantel on Stingray encapsulates HP-40 quite well in it's weird/idiosyncratic specificity and funktech. That said, the edit on Skywalker and the clear view straight through the backside of Merlin has gotta be my favorite part. The mood shift in the music as Rosay does God Module was also epic... such a legendary climb. Loved the industrial noir vibe of this film through and through. The Tension crew just doesn't miss.
a standing ovation for this incredible footage! Congratulations, I enjoyed it very much! Finally a climbing video different from the usual and more usual performance video. Fresh, which brings with it a concept, a depth. You have made me want to climb these incredible rocks...
For me either slider or Five - 0 really stuck out as my favorite boulders from the film because well they are both V9/7c which is my redpoint grade and both just look like amazing climbs to get on with such cool sequences. Five - 0 is like so my style with the sloper bumping and the heel hook and compression, makes me want to get out there with my friends and give some goes, so cool. Such a sick film, absolutely love it, gets me so stoked to go try my project in yosemite this weekend. Love it. The camera shots on Merlin are probably my favorite filming of the film because it's just so beautiful with the clear shot through and just yeah. Also the soundtrack is so fitting, it's edited and made and produced so well. Really good job on just everything with this and the climbing is all so good and so strong, gets me so psyched seeing stuff like this.
Spent some formative years taking trips to climb at HP40. This was really fun to watch and stirred up lots of memories. I remember trying Mortal Kombat with one thin crashpad and my girlfriend (now wife and mother of our child!!) spotting, hoping not to take the plunge into the pit. Wow, can't wait to return someday, what a special place. Thanks for the rad video.
I love getting to see my home state being represented in this amazing production! This was an amazing film and the edit and soundtrack are insane! I definitely would say my favorite boulder at hp40 is MatchMaker!
this is the third time i’ve watched this - the gold standard for climbing videos to come. favorite climb is definitely law dog - since it’s probably the most anti-style for me. watching mike cruise it was super inspiring. thank you tension for keeping my psych alive
Wow! Sooo many awesome looking lines I might have to plan a trip. Mortal Kombat and skywalker are both so aesthetic! I usually gravitate towards the harder stuff but I think Mortal Kombat is my favorite. That arete is just too clean.
When I started climbing, Skywalker was one of the first boulders I had ever heard of. Was happy to get completely humbled on it last year. And now because of this film I'm psyched to go back and try it again. Definitely my favorite from this film.
After about a minute in to it, I stopped and put it on my TV instead. What an amazing film about one of the best boulder fields on the planet. The odd little chunks of Tool in the soundtrack fit the feel perfectly as well. Bravo!
Stingray has to be my favorite climb of the video, love a slopey top out! This video has SERIOUSLY encouraged me to get out to HP 40, I live in the south and have never gone just cause I'm cheap.
My first and only day at HP40 was last spring. What a humbling experience. I can't wait to get back. Merlin has to be my favorite. What an unreal feature.
Whoa the video quality is insaaaane. It feels like the aesthetic quality of even some of the more accessible climbs are really being done justice. Skywalker looked particularly sick imho
Love this film because this was where I first started bouldering outside because I live in FL. The rock is so inspiring. God Module has to be my favorite boulder. I gave me my goal to climb v11 one day.
Ghetto superstar is one of the most inspiring boulder I've seen. Makes me want to book a trip to horse pen 40 next summer. Personnal favorite from this video. I've already heard of HP 40 before but this video truly makes me want to go there asap
You gave us a tough task to pick our favourite boulder problem, everything from easy to difficult is just so good. I'd say Skywalker is my favourite, that gaston move say it all for me. Well done to the crew, this video is SICK. Thanks for reminding us to let go of our ego balloon, sometimes.
Speechless. Flawless video victory. God Module was my favorite boulder; beautiful line with Michael’s superb ascent aaaaaand one of the top industrial harsh bands! Hail Tension 🔥🤘🏼
This is definitely the most unique bouldering film ever and probably my new favorite. It's a work of art, bravo Michael! And also nice that I'm now being able to connect the dots after haring about horse pens a few times and sometimes seeing Boulders that kind of looked font-esque in the US.
Slider is a life lister for me. IMO, the most aesthetic climb in the boulderfield. As someone who started climbing in Florida and ventured to HP40 as one of the closest places to climb, I was always humbled, but always had a blast there. Cannot wait to get back there hopefully sooner rather than later.
Hot N Tot is so under the radar and probably the best double digit boulder at Horse Pens. The jump move is actually insanely hard to stick but it's so sick! It's not as famous as God Module but I think its cooler personally. I've done both.
This reminded me of when I first went to hp40 during color the crag something that defined me as a climber. It made me want to go back and try so many different boulders. Great white looks so sick.
So many epic lines. Literally planning a winter climbing trip there after seeing this vid. Groove Rider and Mortal Combat look funky and fun. Hard to choose just one.
The fact that this is HP40 is auspicious! I loved this perspective of Honky Tonkin' and props for representing women, and on boulder problems that I can see myself on (so great to see a pro film feature the quality boulders that aren't just above V9s). Thanks for doing the contest. 🤞
The transition and music to God Module has to be the sickest intro to a boulder problem. A legendary Litz problem. That name gives scary vibes for Southeastern climbers.
This should be the standard of climbing films. This shows that you don't need the hardest of the hardest boulders to make a sick film. Good lines, good movement, and dope film making is gonna do it.
Amen
God module taught me that crimps can be slopers too. My personal favorite boulder.
1 comment for so many times I've seen this masterpiece of hypnotic creative beautifully dark mix of visuals, sounds, emotions and superb uncorrupted climbing wasn't enough for my consciousness, hence writing this one too. So sick getting to see climbs I’ve done in a climbing film! Hp40 is a gem to be cherished forever.
Going to drive 1000+ miles to come try some boulder. Not a lot of boulders in East Canada and too much snow right now 🤷♂️
@@marc-olafontaine1575 It’s 100 percent worth it. You’ll never want to go back
Cinematography and sound design are unmatched. God Module looks so damn cool.

Fluid and smooth with no desperate thrutching and readjusting. Its like the climbers must have done laps on each problem to get the smoothest take. So awesome and masterful.
Matchmaker because it’s freaking WILD to me. Heinous but I’m in awe!
I rewatch this like 4 times a week now
fav boulder would be , Slider !
Matchmaker is a stand out being very my style, and super cool being a Jimmy Webb FA. Great film all around
I agree and I think that one has very few repeats. Was psyched to see that one in the film!
Groove Rider. Getting on that with my best friend is still one of my most special memories.
Trick or Treat has such cool features. Definitely my favorite.
only been to hp40 for a day once but mulletino looks like such a gorgeous line def my favorite
Favorite boulder has to be skywalker cause it’s in my top 10 all time dream list. Maybe the coolest feature in the south or at least top 5.
I feel as if the mantel on Stingray encapsulates HP-40 quite well in it's weird/idiosyncratic specificity and funktech. God Module is an absolute life lister. Perhaps the best bouldering film I've watched this year, or ever.
Gotta be skywalker or landslide, two of my all time dream lines
a standing ovation for this incredible footage! Congratulations, I enjoyed it very much! Finally a climbing video different from the usual and more usual performance video. Fresh, which brings with it a concept, a depth. You have made me want to climb these incredible rocks...
EPIC film, Mike. Captures the eerie vibes of HP40 perfectly. Great climb selection also! Killed itttttt
Matchmaker is beyond sick, love a span start
This film was so good. I've never climbed in the south but it felt like I was there the entire time watching. Amazing work Michael and Tension crew!
Drew you gotta climb at hp40, best bouldering place hands down.
For me either slider or Five - 0 really stuck out as my favorite boulders from the film because well they are both V9/7c which is my redpoint grade and both just look like amazing climbs to get on with such cool sequences. my favorite climbing location ever. absolutely beautiful location and amazing climbing. shoutout the schultz family!
I have watched this like 25 times now
Spent some formative years taking trips to climb at HP40. This was really fun to watch and stirred up lots of memories. Stingray has got to be my favorite, great film too!
Matchmaker looks so sick, especially the drop down move into the crimp
God Module looks so rad, would love to get shut down by that beast
Top notch everyone. Top freaking notch!!!
Remember when climbing videos had soundtracks? This soundtrack was 🔥🔥🔥. I'll be spinning up a playlist for sure.
I love getting to see my home state being represented in this amazing production! This was an amazing film and the edit and soundtrack are insane! I definitely would say my favorite boulder at hp40 is MatchMaker!

Well this is incredible!
wonderful showcase of a beautiful area
favorite boulder has to be five-0, what a dope feature!
One of the best climbing films I've ever seen!
PHENOMENAL climbing film. beautiful beautiful work.
Great white looks so rad. What cool unique movements.
After about a minute in to it, I stopped and put it on my TV instead. What an amazing film about one of the best boulder fields on the planet. The odd little chunks of Tool in the soundtrack fit the feel perfectly as well. Bravo!
Best climbing edit I’ve ever seen!!
Stingray has to be my favorite climb of the video, love a slopey top out! This video has SERIOUSLY encouraged me to get out to HP 40, I live in the south and have never gone just cause I'm cheap.
Love the trippy music/vibe of this edit
My first and only day at HP40 was last spring. What a humbling experience. I can't wait to get back.
Merlin has to be my favorite. What an unreal feature.
Whoa the video quality is insaaaane. It feels like the aesthetic quality of even some of the more accessible climbs are really being done justice. Skywalker looked particularly sick imho
Sick film with so many good looking boulders. Skywalker though, that is the top of the list for me.
Love this film because this was where I first started bouldering outside because I live in FL. The rock is so inspiring. God Module has to be my favorite boulder. I gave me my goal to climb v11 one day.
the most stylish climbing movie I've ever seen
Ghetto superstar is one of the most inspiring boulder I've seen. Makes me want to book a trip to horse pen 40 next summer. Personnal favorite from this video. I've already heard of HP 40 before but this video truly makes me want to go there asap

Hot N' Tot definitely my favorite short but intense beautiful video by the way
Love the variety of grades showcased, Mulletino was my fav
Great video! Matchmaker looks so sick, definitely my favorite in the vid
Trippiest climbing video i've seen, god module seems like a good climb for your ego to die on
Knew it was gonna be good when you showed us some clips at the beginning of this year, but God damn... So fucking good.
God module lookin’ 🤌🤌
Best bouldering vid in a long time. Winter stoke vibes. Mad Props.
MIKE YOU ARE ON ONE LETS GOOO
Skywalker is god damn beautiful !
This is definitely the most unique bouldering film ever and probably my new favorite. It's a work of art, bravo Michael!
And also nice that I'm now being able to connect the dots after haring about horse pens a few times and sometimes seeing Boulders that kind of looked font-esque in the US.
Great video, and amazing coverage of so many classics. Stepchild remains one of my all-time favorite climbs in the south for movement.
Wow! What an amazing edit! Seemed like I was watching a music video. Bravo!
Very nice film. always a fan of the unique pivot movement on Step Child
hot n’ tot stands out. great boulder and even better camerawork
That was a great watch!! I'd have to say my favorite boulder was ghetto superstar.
Great White, what a line
Hot N' Tot looks like an absolute banger
Hot N Tot is so under the radar and probably the best double digit boulder at Horse Pens. The jump move is actually insanely hard to stick but it's so sick! It's not as famous as God Module but I think its cooler personally. I've done both.
This reminded me of when I first went to hp40 during color the crag something that defined me as a climber. It made me want to go back and try so many different boulders. Great white looks so sick.
Classic god module has gotta be the star of the video!
Bumboy was my favorite boulder. What a sick one!
God Module was my fav because the name and the editing of this video reminded me of one of my favorite shows: Dark.
My favorite boulder is definitely Bum Boy, can't beat those shapes
So many epic lines. Literally planning a winter climbing trip there after seeing this vid. Groove Rider and Mortal Combat look funky and fun. Hard to choose just one.
God I want Stringray so bad. These southern mantles got me droolin'
Bum Boy is my fav, I've seen so many send variations of this boulder over the years. I like that it goes for so many types of ppl.
Matchmaker looks sick
Ghetto Superstar is an all time classic. This film really pushes the level of climbing videos. Great work!
Slider's my fave, and that guy walked it like a warm-up. Great film!
"Slider" is a striking line. Looks like some incredibly satisfying movement.
Stingray is definitely my favorite boulder!
All the boulders are beautiful but somehow I love the Mortal Kombat most. Arete climbing is just so fun.
Now we know what it would look like if the creators of Dark from Netflix made a bouldering film. Huge props Michael and crew!
Skywalker is insane. This film is too! Every aspect of it is perfect!
Skywalker looks so sick. What a great video.
Illusions look really sick.
Would love that hangboard
Skywalker was soooo sick! and the general boulder formation surround it... wow
Wow looks amaaaazing🤩
The fact that this is HP40 is auspicious! I loved this perspective of Honky Tonkin' and props for representing women, and on boulder problems that I can see myself on (so great to see a pro film feature the quality boulders that aren't just above V9s). Thanks for doing the contest. 🤞
Great White was my favorite, what a feature!
Merlin. It’s the only one I could climb. :P
Skywalker's wave-like shapes is kind of crazy! A tremendous film: psyched to get outside asap!
Great film, appreciate a different vibe for a change. Landslide looks like UK Grit
so dope!! the editing was so engaging, well done. fav boulders were stingray and skywalker!
Growing up I remember watching someone campus God Module with a crash pad on their back, wild climb
Watched this while baked. Was not disappointed. So good.
Bum Boy definitely stood out!! Such beautiful and unique shapes. Would get anyone inspired. 🔥
The transition and music to God Module has to be the sickest intro to a boulder problem. A legendary Litz problem. That name gives scary vibes for Southeastern climbers.
Top climbing film. I always loved slider. This was my first year trying the boulder and it's a real southern test piece.
bumboy objectively the best boulder
YES!
