      The tax is theft is stupid especially when you compare how much capitalists take... which is far more then taxes.

      Problem is, only a tiny fraction of players are making money. Basically, the old way benefitted 99% of players and hurt the 1% of top players. Now, its flipped.

      They need to start doing contracts with these students. 4 year / 40M - 5 star player.. 1 star player 4 year / 4M. That’s how it should be. College can compete with the Pros salary so players can stay longer.

    Also, the 4th string running back from UNLV transferred yesterday alongside the QB too and he just transferred to UNLV from NC State last year.

    The more I think about it, the more I feel like UNLV was probably worried more players would want to get paid and so they tried to call the guy's bluff. UNLV can come up with $100k. That's like hiring an extra administrator on campus. They can find that money somewhere and they should have.

      Maybe they thought they’d have the money but something happened. It’s life. 💩 happens.
      This happens a lot to basketball players overseas. Some of those European countries are poor. They promise to pay a certain amount thinking they’ll have it but the country gets hit with economic troubles, and they simply can’t pay. Even the team owners will be broke sometimes. It ain’t like here in the US where the owners are all billionaires.

    Nil deals need to be on paper. If I'm giving you money for services, were signing a contract.

      You can only get an NIL deal once you’re enrolled. So before that, it’s a verbal agreement. You can agree on a number in January but come June when you’re officially enrolled in the school and name is on the roster, things could be different. Maybe they landed 2 more star transfers during that period and that number needed to change. 🤷‍♂️

    Contracts need to be slotted for scholarships. Honestly I wouldn’t be mad if they were standardized to stop kids hunting money. It would still allow them to transfer for better playing situations and more playing time. It’s very hard to develop when you’re constantly bouncing around from school to school.

    Hold Barry Odom accountable since Derek Stevens was willing to cover the hundred thousand but Odom said the boat has sailed. The boosters stepped up but the coach dropped the ball.

    You guys are talking two different things. NIL is suppose to be sponsorship like say Aaron Rodger’s and State Farm. What y’all are talking about is a NCAA player contract where you are paid by the school to play for them

    No matter what the HC is saying now, the OC is an agent of the team and the school. He committed the school to pay this kid. The kid accepted the deal. That is a VALID CONTRACT, whether it’s in writing or not.
    Shame on UNLV for sleazing out of that deal.

    #1 UNLV isnt on the West Coast , Nevada is landlocked. #2 you could absolutely remive all Cali teams from college sports and it wouldn't change a thing. How do we know? Bc none of the Cali teams have been relevant for 15 years and alls good.

    How y’all want to bully the ncaa into getting involved in something they never wanted in the first place. If you can get paid like a pro then it’s your responsibility to get the proper representation to make sure you don’t get played in the negotiating rooms like the pros. This is on the athlete and his parents. Then he quit on his team. He definitely going D2-D3 after this no big school is gone let him do this again

    It's hard to be on Rob's side sometimes. He always brings up the coaches getting paid more than the players. Does Rob go to his bosses at Fox radio and say I need to make as much or more than you bc I'm on the radio and you aren't. Then he blames the NCAA before NIL, then players are taken advantage if the system and its still the NCAA's fault? That doesn't make since. I mean I think Rob is getting kickbacks from the players bc he is kissing up to them in every situation like this
