They need to start doing contracts with these students. 4 year / 40M - 5 star player.. 1 star player 4 year / 4M. That’s how it should be. College can compete with the Pros salary so players can stay longer.

They promise to pay a certain amount thinking they’ll have it but the country gets hit with economic troubles, and they simply can’t pay. Even the team owners will be broke sometimes. You can only get an NIL deal once you’re enrolled. So before that, it’s a verbal agreement. You can agree on a number in January but come June when you’re officially enrolled in the school and name is on the roster, things could be different. Maybe they landed 2 more star transfers during that period and that number needed to change. 🤷♂️

Contracts need to be slotted for scholarships. Honestly I wouldn’t be mad if they were standardized to stop kids hunting money. It would still allow them to transfer for better playing situations and more playing time. It’s very hard to develop when you’re constantly bouncing around from school to school.
