@3:31 I just love the way you can almost feel the fabric texture, there's something in the image that conveys tactile senses with natural light... the jumper at the start was the same... lovely
Amazing, thanks for uploading. I've been putting my GFX100ii to the test too and this was a helpful guide. Those Mamiya lenses look great on this sensor!
So i have the baveyes on my a7r3 and i love it. Im looking at getting a GFX within a week or 2 and im looking at another baveyes for the gfx and my mamiya lenses. My question is what is the math on this adapter? Would it be (say you have the 55 f2.8) .8x55= 44 and the multiply 44 by .8 again, making it effectively 35.2? .....which would make it close to film 645.
Mate, when is this film available to watch. I’m basically waiting to get started and buy the equipment that’s how much the test inspired me. I’m dying to see the whole thing, literally
Hey! Thank you so much. I don't really know haha, it just started the editing phase, so still some months I guess. I have another video on my vimeo channel with actual takes of the film.
Hey! thank you! I was using a Warm Pro Mist 1/8 Filter but WB to 4800K I think. The rest of it is just contrast and saturation. I really like the colors that come out of F-Log2 naturally!
yes! I'm loving the Medium Format feel. 8K is super 35 and it looks great, too. Dynamic Range is crazy wide. Image of 4K on GF and Premista Mode comes out a bit to sharp for my taste but applying a bit of softening in Post makes it very natural. For this video I didn't apply any post grain, the texture of FLog2 is very natural and has a very filmic feel. It took me a while not to underexpose FLog-2 but then I used a LUT I created for the FX9 with a bit of exposure compensation and that made it perfect. Overall, I like it!
I noticed the blue circle in the middle. How pronounced is it ? Does it always happen on sunlight? Does something help to avoid it? Amazing video!!! Thanks for sharing
Hey! This happens especially when there is a lot f backlight or very bright and big light sources. Unfortunately I haven't found a way to get rid of it. KIPON should say something about it! haha I've tried using masks on the matte box, etc, but basically the only way of not having that is not shooting to a big light source. I had to remove that adapter for some shots. Still love the medium format feel, though!
Im jelly I am using a non speedbooster on my GFX100 II for my 80 1.9 and 45 2.8. I will get the pl mount kipon adapter soon so I too can have that angle of view
Please let me know how the PL adapter works on the GFX! I am not satisfied with the quality of the 0.8x, especially when I get that blue flare in the middle of the image. Would like to know if the 0.7x PL version covers the whole GFX sensor
@@jesquirlas kipon say the blue light is only present in the .8 adaptors, but that the .7 pl pro adaptor wont cover the whole sensor of the gfx, so it only works in crop modes (not sure which one) id be interested to know if anyone has tried the new pl pro one
@@littleeasefilms I have tried the XPImage which has the same optical components as the Kipon 0.7x . What I can tell you is that the image becomes moodier, swirlier almost anamorphic feel, which I like. It definitely vignettes in 4:3 photo mode but in 16:9 at GF mode you can barely see it with most lenses. Will try to upload a test soon. Also: you loose the blue flare!
Once again you've pumped out another beauty with this setup! I own almost the same setup but with the 35, 55, and 85 Sekor C's. I've been doing some testing as well and will be sure to post soon. I am curious as to what your process was for grading the images?
thank you! I really love these lenses! For this video, as mentioned in another comment, I just did basic grading and saturation, didn't mess with the color. F-Log2 is very nice
Thanks! I did have problems with blue flares, especially when the back ground had too much light, sometimes in sunny exteriors. No vignette with most lenses, except the 150 F4. I just bought the XPImage adapter and I will upload tests as soon as I can, but that one vignettes much more, but not in 16:9 aspect ratio. It is also way moodier and makes the image wider.
i really need to get my hands on the mamiya lenses. You sold them so well haha. Quick question regarding the IBIS. How did you turn it on/off? Or will be automatically always be off, when using a manual lens?

Thank you very much!
really lovely test footage.
Excited to see some more if you decide to share.
will try to share more and more often! thank you!
Fantastic work! really stellar!

Thank you! Yes, they do! Haven’t stopped using them for photo and video
first relevant test with this camera! Thank you!
Glad you liked it! Thank you!
Is Prores 422 HQ just called "Prores 422" on the GFX? Or is it called "Prores HQ"?
There is Pro Res 422 LT, Pro Res 422 and Pro Res 422 HQ

Yes, exactly that math, i've compared it with a regular 35mm full frame and it gets pretty close to it. But yeah the math is multiplying twice by 0.8.
@jesquirlas awesome thanks. Very nice video btw.
This is amazing!!!
Thanks!!

Cheers - tho I believe the 8K is relatively close to 35mm film (not Super 35)@@jesquirlas keep up the good work

May i know your 80mm lens is F2.8 or F1.9, thanks 🙏🏻

need more of this
I loved this! My wallet did not. Great shots😍
wow 1:15 dynamic range is awesome )))
It is! It always amazes me!
What PL mount adoater you use?
I used the Kipon Baveyes 0.8x Mamiya 645 to Fuji GFX, no PL adapter :)
Thanks for sharing - Reminds me I need to get some of my own footage up on RUclips..
yeah you should share, too! It wouldn't hurt anybody haha
fair fair... I am bad about posting@@jesquirlas
so beautiful. and i just found out that the adaptor is so expensive 😳😳😳
Will FF lens cover this sensor?
Some of then do cover. You would have to test. There is also a group on FB where they have a list I think!
So nice. Did u have any problems with blue flares or smudges or vingnette from the focal reducer?

You can turn it on in the Q Menu. For it to work better with manual lenses, you should change the Mount Adaptor Setting for the mm your lens is.
have you seen too old to die young? Your shots have similar vibe.
haha! that's an honor, really love both cinematographers work!
bravo.
thank you!
