Again I say the Mazda is way better. In gas mileage,in handling in riding comfort, construction quality and the Mazda is more driver friendly and downright fun to drive. With the Mazda you don’t just drive it you wear it.
Rene Rios a friend of mine got the Audi A3 recently and I got the Mazda 3 GT with premium package. Looks like this one minus the black mirrors. I left feeling I had the better car. Lol!
Question for you.... Have you ever compared the Mazda3 to the Mazda6? I have a 06-3 and really like it but considering a Mazda6 if it drives as good as the 3?
T.K. Morris I drove the 3 and the 6 and ended up with the 3 because you couldn’t get the 6 in top trim with a manual. The main difference between the two is the 6 was quieter and the rear seating area was larger. I love the 3 GT MT though.
For all those asking about CarPlay and Android Auto, it is now available for all Mazdas from 2014 onwards as a 400 dollar dealer installed option as long as you have Mazda connect which was typically available on touring and grand touring trims.
The Kodo design language has been a massive boost to the overall appreciation of the brand with it fans - and potential buyers who may drive other makers models.
I just got the hatchback version of this car, for anyone curious about the heated steering wheel; be warned to avoid disappointment. It heats very nicely and feels great BUT it is not the entire wheel. It only covers the "10 and 2" areas of the steering wheel. If you like to drive with one hand at the 12 o'clock position or at the bottom of the wheel they will not be heated.
yep, I have it too. However, the competition, such as the new Civic, does not even offer a heated steering wheel. Infact, none of the cars in this segment or the next segment (example Acura ILX) for that matter even offer it so no complaints here :D
I have the 2015 S GT, the only gripe I have is the lifted truck wheel gap look. Soon to be remedied with CorkSport lowering springs and rear camber adjusters. The interior gets many compliments as people that sit inside compare it to something higher end/priced than a Mazda 3. Hwy average mileage 38mpg. No issues with car. Paint is very durable, clear coat very tough. Suspension; high speed dampening very jarring, not the car going high speed, the rate of speed of the upward travel of the suspension going over short length but tall road imperfections, such as a train track rail slightly above the asphalt. Low speed/frequency dampening very good. I did replace the fog lights with 5000k LEDs to match the color of the HID low beams and replaced the license plate lights with LED's to give a clean look . I agree with GrandPrixGTP02's review. Very fair.
Aw man, I wish that subtle body kit were more widely available. I have a 3S-GT as well, but VERY FEW 3s have that kit, and it really does a lot for the car.
Very nice review, thanks! I also like the Mazda series as it's a very good price for such a high level of detailing and luxurious, of course it can't compare to the cars that cost double or more of the prices.
I bummed you have the automatic. Mazda.. Stands for manual only. They are a completely different vehicle. IMHO. I have that exact vehicle. But I took mine to another level. I black plasti dipped the front chrome Mazda label, the chrome that runs underneath the front end. Also, the chrome that runs along the doors. The HD antenna, the rear fin, all 3 chrome pie es on the back end. And believe it or not, I did the gas cover. It makes the car pop so much more than standard. If you really look at your review model. It's mostly white and chrome. Toe that said... Dull. Great vid, thanks.
I just got my Mazda 3 after a few years of wanting it! Let's just say, it was well worth it I got the same exact model you got, minus the sport appearance package! I got the premium package on it. I love this car so much! So much better than my previous car, the 2014 Honda Civic. She was a nice car, I miss her sometimes, but when I get in the new car, she's amazing!
Jess Barnett hey, I'm about to buy a mazda. I'm confused between mazda6 and 3. I personally want a 3. But i wanted a review from someone who has used it. Does this have navigation?
I have the 2017 GT hatch 6 spd, fully loaded, love it! I was also pleasantly surprised by the BOSE which sounds pretty good actually and I am very critical of car audio system, many of the stock units sound downright awful but this one is good - tight clean bass with no distortion :)
I have the '17 gt hatch, and yes I agree...the 18" rims and tires which so many people complain about the noise and/or the performance of the tires. Man, it's like a lot of people just want to be on the same boat as the originator and just bitch and bitch and bitch...because I DO NOT hear of the noise or can complain of the ride quality from the 18 inch rims/tires... and I'm not deaf or am a old man or drive like a grandpa... no complaints from me on the size of the rims or the tires... You didn't make mention that though it does not have power lumbar, it does have a manual lumbar handle. Mazda (and Toyota) still do not have Apple Carplay or Android Auto...though on the Mazda forums they say it will come 'shortly'...
southshore74 I have the 2018 Mazda3 SP25 GT same as the reviewer, u will be surprise how quite it is.....interior noise is around 65-68db, quieter than my wife’s 2013 Honda Accord Euro Luxury model
Weird - the 2018 EU cars have all four windows automatic. It bugs me that my 2015 lacks it though. And no raising/lowering the windows with the remote.
The back seating is tight. My friend has one and i have to scoot my feet sideways and my legs are pushed up against the front seating. Lol im not even a tall guy.
After driving the Si sedan, GTI 6M, the Focus ST, and the Elantra Sport, this car feels underpowered and I think it's due to poor gear ratios in the manual that I drove. I did not find the engine to have any special qualities. It wasn't "fun" to rev it out nor did it make good sounds. I think a better engine or turbo set up would lift this car above its peers. Totally awesome steering feel on center and it tracked like it was on rails. No such thing as a perfect car, but there are a ton of choices at this price point.
The automatic actually has better acceleration and fuel economy. I think I'd rather have a larger n/a engine than a turbo when it comes to ten+ years of ownership
Love this new Mazda. Great overall vehicle. If whatever reason (battery dead, need to tow, need to push to the gas station), the shifter on this car is stuck or any newer Mazda (2014 and newer), here is a quick video showing how to get the shifter out of park: ruclips.net/video/k5MKOwSleVA/видео.html
Gunner Pierre hey bro, did you buy exhaust tips that bend down to show uo under the rear bumper's plastic or did you cut 2 half circles in the rear with straight tips? Cheers mate.
Hi Bobby, I also from Houston and I wonder which dealer do you get your car from. there are a few dealer around here, and I am looking to get the same car as yours. Thanks and look forward to your response!!!
Another nice video!! I'm still unsure if I should get this mazda3 hatch or civic sport touring hatch. What do you think I should get? Both interiors offer the same luxuries and driving dynamics.
I own a 2017 mazda 3 GT and it was either that or the Civic or Hyundai Elantra. I thought the exterior of the Civic looked like a transformer compared to the Mazda ,and I also see a ton of Civics around town so I wanted to get something more "unique". I also thought the handling and the interior were much nicer.
Tech Defender I would recommend the Mazda three or a Mazda 6 touring if you can swing it. The cars are great, amazing handling and enough power, class leading interior is a huge plus. The only car better is the elantra sport sedan in my opinion the turbo and the Mazda style handling is amazing, I personally love the aggressive looks and sound of it. Plus you can get one for less than this grand touring trim, or even a base grand touring trim. And you get more power then this car. Just a Great bang for buck. Just my opinion though.
Tech Defender Also with the Hyundai Some of the slightly older ones have really bad paint problems. They're good cars but there paint quality is terrible
With the Honda, you get a stunning exterior design when compared to the Mazda 3. Lower maintenance costs and higher resale value! Mazda's resale value was never that great. I'd recommend the Civic.
dropthe_bass 21 very reliable. Got the hatchback touring version for $22k. Gas mileage is amazing when just casually driving. Very responsive when driving. Wish I had led headlights but I'll just add that myself. It is very comfortable inside and fun to drive.
dropthe_bass 21 - My Mazda 3 was the most unreliable car I ever owned. I only had it a year and a half..heh. Traded it in on a certified pre-owned Ford Fiesta and I'm happy. No more problems and I love the car (Fiesta).
The fact that this company is completely blind to the fact that the public, including its own customers, would like a FUNCTIONAL infotainment system with CarPlay/android auto capabilities, proves that they are just out of touch with reality. The cars handle very well but at its core, Mazda is stuck in the dark ages with no sign of emerging from them.
Tim Dumoulin yeah got the 2018 cx9 too and literally every light is led except for the rear turn signals , reverse lights and number plate light! I wonder why they didn’t just change them entirely to led
sometimes I think about this too, why 'would't Mazda make it an all LED vehicle? My thought is that they are trying to balance old school with new technology to go with their KODO design, which I visualize to be rounded...the regular halogen bulbs installed give off this 'rounded/old school' type, while the led lights would give it a 'rougher' demeanor...hope you understand what I'm trying to convey...
I have a 2017 3. I had to laugh when you complained about the rear visibility. The sedan is way better than the hatch. That was one of the main reasons that made the hatch a no go for me.
Bjc_99 If all else equal, I would suggest the Mazda 3. Likely slightly lower insurance. The less complex, non-turbo engine will be reliable, and general services, such as oil changes will likely be more affordable. The newer car will also likely offer better technology integration, with smart phones. Ultimately the choice is yours.
I had a '11 Mazda 3 and that was officially my last Mazda. This new design hasn't won me over either. The old design looked a lot better. Sure their interiors are of higher quality over the generation my Mazda fell in.. But the design of the exterior just looks horrendous
No sedan except the second gen Focus and first gen Volvo S40 looks good in these small sizes. I have a 3 hatchback so I might be biased but yeah.. Never liked small sedans. Worst ever is the really small ones, like the Fiesta or Clio.
2nd that...ive got the 17 gt hatch... i did install led bulbs by ijdmtoy for the rear turn signals for $35 from Amazon, that does NOT need a resistor...BUT you can only install one pair at front or the rear, because if you put two pairs, you will get hyperflashing.
The interior is nice but let's not get carried away with the whole 1.5 - 2 times the price. That's Lexus or Mercedes level pricing, and this Mazda is nowhere near the level of interior refinement of those two. Again, nice but not THAT nice.
TrollBuster idk, get in a Grand Touring with premium package and you may think it's better than most luxury brands. Everyone including myself were extremely impressed!
I disagree. I just went to the auto show today, and after sitting in 40+ cars the three was an absolute standout, even at the touring trim. I prefer the interior on the 6 but my kids all preferred the 3. Considering the touring is 22k, double that puts you in a Kia stinger, the 3 has a vastly superior interior to the $50k stinger.
Wild and Crazy kids yeah the 3 Grand Touring is on point! I got the light colored interior with the pearl white paint with dark Tint! It looks like a storm trooper! The seats are so comfortable/ it's crazy!
H. U.O that color interior is kinda limited but when you sit on both seats, you realize that the lighter colored one feels so much softer. I love it! I live in South Florida and while I need to keep them, the cooler seats have made a difference already!
brian carter they used to be partly owned by Ford and had shared platforms. They have nothing to do with each other now, and the cars are solely engineered by Mazda
As of now, its body still looks beautiful & stylish.
Mazda has clearly upped its game not only with the excellent SUVs but also the other lines - particularly the Mazda3
Mr. Mazda o
nilsathp I
I absolutely LOVE my 2016 Mazda 6 i Sport. Excellent and beautiful car for the money.
Mr. Mazda I
Mr. Mazda, does this Mazda3 2018 has android auto?
A very thorough presentation! Thanks!
One of the best Mazda review compared to the 13 videos I’ve seen. thank you ❤️
One of the best reviews I saw in a while. You sold me on this car. Can't wait to buy it in a couple of months. 😁😁😁😁
This car looks way better than the A3 by Audi in my opinion. Offering more for less. Mazda makes beautiful vehicles
Rene Rios Naww I have a Mazda 3 but can’t go wrong with an Audi never ever
Gunner Pierre. Overall the Audi doesn’t come close to being the car the Mazda is.
Paul Peterson so your saying Mazda is better?
Again I say the Mazda is way better. In gas mileage,in handling in riding comfort, construction quality and the Mazda is more driver friendly and downright fun to drive. With the Mazda you don’t just drive it you wear it.
Rene Rios a friend of mine got the Audi A3 recently and I got the Mazda 3 GT with premium package. Looks like this one minus the black mirrors. I left feeling I had the better car. Lol!
We got our ‘18 M3 GT and love it! I have had 4 Mazda’s since 2001 and they are the best cars
Question for you.... Have you ever compared the Mazda3 to the Mazda6? I have a 06-3 and really like it but considering a Mazda6 if it drives as good as the 3?
Mazda 6 honnestly drives way better than the new Mercedes C-Class
T.K. Morris I drove the 3 and the 6 and ended up with the 3 because you couldn’t get the 6 in top trim with a manual. The main difference between the two is the 6 was quieter and the rear seating area was larger. I love the 3 GT MT though.
26:12 Those dual cupholders on the enginecover did it for me... I'M BUYING!
They're not just holders! They are also beverage warmers too!! ..... 😃😆🤣

First World Problems lol
I agree, the entire premise of this video is first world.
yep, I have it too. However, the competition, such as the new Civic, does not even offer a heated steering wheel. Infact, none of the cars in this segment or the next segment (example Acura ILX) for that matter even offer it so no complaints here :D
My 2015 Ford Focus has a heated steering wheel--all the way around. Nice when it's cold outside. I used mine tonight.
Or wear some gloves and don't be a whiner
I have the 2015 S GT, the only gripe I have is the lifted truck wheel gap look. Soon to be remedied with CorkSport lowering springs and rear camber adjusters. The basic visual design came out in 2014? It doesn't seem old at all. Appearance wise, this car will age well.
Aw man, I wish that subtle body kit were more widely available. I have a 3S-GT as well, but VERY FEW 3s have that kit, and it really does a lot for the car.
An updated key fob tf?! That key fob looks badass what you talking about, certainly much more modern than my Nissan key fob
Nissan is like 10 years behind everyone else.
Yeah like why does the key fob need to look different it's simple and works and it's got metal buttons pretty sure which is good it'll be sturdy
Agree
Definitely. That keyfob is better looking than the new ones Mazda has put out and it is smaller and more efficient.
Thanks, mate. Really good review. I'll tell Mazda in Melbourne you sold me.
Just picked-up mine today. Love it.
My 2018 mazda 3 will be delivered in another 2 weeks... I can't wait
Bruh!! Your reviews are so good! Very informative
Very nice review, thanks! I also like the Mazda series as it's a very good price for such a high level of detailing and luxurious, of course it can't compare to the cars that cost double or more of the prices.

Im not too happy with the gauge cluster. They should’ve made the rpm gauge big ONLY on the MANUAL transmission. Or atleast a Lcd screen
What kills this car for me vs the Elantra for instance, is the rear leg room.
I have the 2017 GT hatch 6 spd, fully loaded, love it! I was also pleasantly surprised by the BOSE which sounds pretty good actually and I am very critical of car audio system, many of the stock units sound downright awful but this one is good - tight clean bass with no distortion :)
How’s the 17 holding up if you still have it? I’ve heard the manuals can be troublesome and go through clutches?
What is the difference between the Mazda 3 touring and grand touring
Am simply in love. But what i dislike is the fog light which is too small. It must be a bit big which will bring a plus for the appearance
mazda 3 beautiful car....
I have the '17 gt hatch, and yes I agree...the 18" rims and tires which so many people complain about the noise and/or the performance of the tires.

android is avail on the forums.
not standard from Mazda... some person who programmed to have android..but not without its flaws...
great review...very informative and concise..would definitely consider this car
My God, if they would only do something about the ROAD NOISE in there cars I would be a fan too :)
southshore74 I have the 2018 Mazda3 SP25 GT same as the reviewer, u will be surprise how quite it is.....interior noise is around 65-68db, quieter than my wife’s 2013 Honda Accord Euro Luxury model
Just wanted to let you know, your car does have a manual lumbar handle on the left side of the drive seat.
Weird - the 2018 EU cars have all four windows automatic. It bugs me that my 2015 lacks it though. And no raising/lowering the windows with the remote.
I still prefer the Mazdaspeed 3 that I have. This Mazda’s price is much higher, have small brakes and a lower power engine.
The back seating is tight. My friend has one and i have to scoot my feet sideways and my legs are pushed up against the front seating. Lol im not even a tall guy.
@20:45 Wut? All USB ports can charge your phone; there is no such thing as a data-only cable.
After driving the Si sedan, GTI 6M, the Focus ST, and the Elantra Sport, this car feels underpowered and I think it's due to poor gear ratios in the manual that I drove. did u drive the 2.0 or 2.5??
The automatic actually has better acceleration and fuel economy. I think I'd rather have a larger n/a engine than a turbo when it comes to ten+ years of ownership
It is a 2.5 I4 and as stated it is " seriously under powered !
I agreeeeeeeeeeee i hate turbos
Really?? At 24 grand brand new??
I want to know what's the difference between mazda 3 GX+Convenience/Comfort package and mazda 3 GS version..
I was waiting for the sound introduction at the rear seat
Love this new Mazda. Great overall vehicle. This car is supposed to be sporty so why are the exhaust tips hidden.
Gunner Pierre it’s one of the big differences between the sedan (hidden) and the hatchback (double)
Ad litteram i had to go out and buy some off eBay it looks way better
Gunner Pierre hey bro, did you buy exhaust tips that bend down to show uo under the rear bumper's plastic or did you cut 2 half circles in the rear with straight tips? Cheers mate.
Really off question but is that an Invicta diver watch????
You are correct. Its the Invicta Mako Diver's Watch.
GrandPrixGTP02 great watch Haha, Rolex styled. I have about 16 of them. All bigger ones tho. Good taste man
GrandPrixGTP02 would love to see some small watch reviews if that would be something you would like! Def would be different!
It’s an amazing car of the times with this range. Nice review!
Hi Bobby, I also from Houston and I wonder which dealer do you get your car from. there are a few dealer around here, and I am looking to get the same car as yours. Thanks and look forward to your response!!!

Tech Defender
Also with the Hyundai
Some of the slightly older ones have really bad paint problems. They're good cars but there paint quality is terrible
Tech Defender wait till next year and get the 2018 turbo mazda6. It's gonna be sweet. Same engine as their cx9. Has the most torque in its segment.
With the Honda, you get a stunning exterior design when compared to the Mazda 3. Lower maintenance costs and higher resale value! Mazda's resale value was never that great. I'd recommend the Civic.
How reliable is it ?
dropthe_bass 21 very reliable.
Reliable. Mines a 2013 and no issues so far.
DeadofWinter321 what was wrong about it?
DeadofWinter321 How did you drive it? Mazda is known as one of the top reliable brands
The angle is off on this video...looks warped!
Unfortunately due to me filming with solely with my GoPro Hero 3, thats how it turns out :(
Nonetheless a very good and informative review. Enjoyed it!
"More words count less" - Lao Tsu
Can it be converted to lpg??
Seems you spent a lot of time, carefully going over features--but never drive it?
2018 version best of the best Mazda 3
My 2014 has 235hp do they still offer that engine
you are incorrect. the biggest gen3 engine is the 2.5 with 184hp
You are wrong it is listed on the shiping and list price want a picture
@@dougheiser35no… it’s 184
Nice Review
The fact that this company is completely blind to the fact that the public, including its own customers, would like a FUNCTIONAL infotainment system with CarPlay/android auto capabilities, proves that they are just out of touch with reality. The cars handle very well but at its core, Mazda is stuck in the dark ages with no sign of emerging from them.
Well this didn't age well
Very nice review! The 2019 is getting rave reviews.
Funny how you included S in the title😂
the car looks different, maybe bec. of the camera.
I have the 2018 mazda 3 gt, the turn signals aren’t led :(
Arran Turner I just got the 2018 as well...ya not sure why Mazda didn't just all in with LED.
The mirrors have LED turn signals in them. Maybe he was meaning that?
Never understood why people say " two thousand AND eighteen....
Why is the "AND" needed?
pimpmyride I usually say 20-17
Justin Jaikaran
I'm even cooler than that. 2K-Eighteen.
Probably thinking of when they write out a check.
I have a 2017 3. I had to laugh when you complained about the rear visibility. The sedan is way better than the hatch. That was one of the main reasons that made the hatch a no go for me.
What does being young have to do with desire for safety? Very silly.
Help me out people... brand new Mazda 3 or 2016 a3 2.0t?
Bjc_99 If all else equal, I would suggest the Mazda 3. Likely slightly lower insurance. The less complex, non-turbo engine will be reliable, and general services, such as oil changes will likely be more affordable. The newer car will also likely offer better technology integration, with smart phones. Ultimately the choice is yours.
Audi car are for rich people. If you are not rich. Dont buy it because it will break and you will spend. Its not even abouf if. IT WILL break on you.
every car will break and an Audi A3 is very reasonable price and is made with a reliable platform that is used in many VW products.
I just watched a car review for 30 mins and learned that the glove box is well damped and falls well, but learned nothing about how it DRIVES. Thanks
Where the fuck apple car play
My cuz has this car
I had a '11 Mazda 3 and that was officially my last Mazda. This new design hasn't won me over either. The old design looked a lot better. Sure their interiors are of higher quality over the generation my Mazda fell in.. But the design of the exterior just looks horrendous
Bass is +6 and treble +3? LOL.
Touring comes with 18s for 2017 and 2018
Keep focusing on ur watch 😂😂😂
no pls no turbo
ya'll
Yes, my Mazda is better without a doubt. I
Dude, buy yourself a better camera...
29k for a mazda 3.....
Ya that's way too much. At that price, just get the Mazda 6.
This or the Honda Civic Touring? x.x
Kivencito both fuckboi
Hey guys is that rust near the hinge of the rear right door? 27:35
Could be wrong but I believe that's hinge grease.
Lucid Unrest i hope so!
Come on man get real camara.
This is a mass market car. Hopefully Tesla can come up with something that can compete with this car.
Sedan styling is zzzz....
S K looks better than the hatch. Back window on the hatch is ugly as hell
The hatchback looks much better in my opinion. You can actually see the dual exhausts.
Kay Foley thats what i dislike on my sedan... no flashy exhaust :((
Kay Foley ugly back or no exhaust showing. I’d rather have no exhaust showing.
No sedan except the second gen Focus and first gen Volvo S40 looks good in these small sizes. I have a 3 hatchback so I might be biased but yeah.. Never liked small sedans. Worst ever is the really small ones, like the Fiesta or Clio.
No LED turn signals, check yoself
Sid Steinberg the led signals are on the side mirrors shaped like a thin line.
Sid Steinberg the whole car is LED
Nope, just the headlights, tail, drl, mirror turn signals and brake lights.
2nd that...ive got the 17 gt hatch... i did install led bulbs by ijdmtoy for the rear turn signals for $35 from Amazon, that does NOT need a resistor...BUT you can only install one pair at front or the rear, because if you put two pairs, you will get hyperflashing.
Correct.
The front license plate sits too high. That's ugly. Please fix that Mazda.
Poor man's ghibli
Would you recommend the light colored inteior? I'm planning to get it but I'm still confused on the interior color.
H. U.O that color interior is kinda limited but when you sit on both seats, you realize that the lighter colored one feels so much softer. I love it! I live in South Florida and while I need to keep them, the cooler seats have made a difference already!
Mazda=dog shit....worst car ive ever owned (its a ford)
brian carter they used to be partly owned by Ford and had shared platforms. They have nothing to do with each other now, and the cars are solely engineered by Mazda
mike racicot ...bullshit. just about every part in the engine, down ro the spark plugs say "Ford" ...mazda3=ford focus...crapped out @67,000m.
Nope.
