Sounds fine but pull the chassis and see how well it is NOT built. You are getting nothing more than what you paid for. Far better off spending more and getting more as it will serve you far better in the long run with reliability and repairability. A well built valve amp will not be cheap such as this example sorry as it's cheap for a reason.

This arrived this week; purchased on your recommendation. You’ve never failed me in the past. Placed it with a Marshall 4X12. The headroom is Fantastic. The clean channel sings! Clarity and immense volume and presence. The dirty channel really did not impress me at all. Just wasn’t achieving a tone that I believed should be coming from the amp. Went back to the clean. Really enjoyable. The Reverb comes through great, although I prefer my TC Sky Surfer for Reverb that suits me. Placed my Marshall Bluesbreaker pedal in front of the amp, and my pedalboard through the effects loop. This is a game changer for Me! I got all the sound and tone that I use and like with this going through the clean channel. Dunno about the dirty channel. I will have to play around with it. The power is exceptional. The 100 watts truly gives you the sound that you Feel!!!… but for me, on the clean channel. Kinda lengthy, just wanted to give my honest opinion. Thanks Darrell.

Great review...great sound! I bought a SR 30 head with the 1x12 cab just about 2 years ago. $480. Can't beat it. It does have the full size chicken head knobs (so good there) but has that darned mirror back that makes it hard to read the knob's labels etc. so I created my own labels and placed just below the knobs. Some day I may just screen my own back and put it in there. Anyway, love the amp. I catch some crap from some amp snobs but even they admit it sounds great...even just the 30 watt!

Gets a better crunch tone. Just gotta learn the proper settings. They aren't intuitive. First thing is to turn the treble all the way down and use the presence and tilt for treble. Plus it doesn't need to be biased and uses half the tubes. Loud enough for today's sound requirements..

Lots of people still leave an amp at their practice/jamming space, where many do not have a PA, everyone just has their own rig. You could even use something like the tonex, or a quad cortex + poweramp to make a portable version of your jam space rig. Im pretty sure a lot of gigging musicians these days actually go a route like this. And until profiled rigs perfectly capture the feel and response of a rig (its getting spooky close, it wont be long), rather then just the sound, i feel like this will still be fairly common. I, as well as many other that have nothing bad to say at all about the sound of profiling solutions, (basically no one can tell them apart by sound samples alone, thats already astonishingly uncanny), still prefer the feel* of playing through a real valve amplifier, and in our jamming space, want the clean unboken headroom an amp like this provides (maybe your a pedal-hound, or just l;ike to use totally pristine cleans)

A buddy of mine has been gigging with his little 15 watt combo for years now and it sounds fantastic. This 100 is one I've been looking at, it has a ton of gain. Sounds great. Glad to see they made the eq section very useful. I've had amps where you turn the knobs with little audible difference. That can be frustrating when you spend a lot of money on a name brand amp like Marshall and it's barely useable if at all.

$500 is not exactly "chump change"! On top of that, you'll need a cab that can handle all that power.
I think I'd just pick up a nice used Vox AC30. Years ago, I got a Vox AD120 (LOUD AF!) I was never able to use it to it's full potential. They were expensive then, but can be gotten really cheap today.
Between it & the VC-12 pedal, the operator's manual is as thick as a friggin' phonebook! LOL

The price this is set at isn't realistic in terms of brand which =resale value...
It's over $600 for this amp
Peavey could be an option as well as an used Egnater or Black star...in today's venues anything over 20 to 30 watts is a waste because you'll never turn up past 3 or 4 before management is yelling TURN DOWN....as much as I appreciate your channel...this was informative but pricey too.... sorry
But for that Price range I wouldn't choose that amp ... Fender blues JR possibly....

I got the 50 watt version, the SB20, for $234 shipped to my door. It’s very similar to a Marshall Origin but with two channels. The clean is very Fender like and the overdrive channel is very Marshall like. Best of both worlds.

I have the 50 watt model. SB20. I do part time tech work, and I have examined the circuit board, transformers and tubes. The construction was just as good as Fender and other major brands. Time will tell regarding the transformers, although they seem to be adequate to me. They are big and heavy. The preamp tubes are JJ brand. The phase splitter tube is JAN GE, which is good, as the tube is constructed to military specs and is NOS. The outputs are not JJ as advertised, and not 6L6. They are apparently Russian military tubes, 5881. This means they are military spec, which is good. The amp sounds great, but I am expecting the usual problems found in all circuit board power amps in the future. I would wait until the hundred watt amp goes on sale. Monoprice has a tendency to really slash the price of their power amps. I got my $439 amp on sale for $259 with free shipping. They do this once a year to clear inventory.

I was told by another person in the chat that I was lying and didn’t know what I was talking about. Glad to see someone else knows what’s up.

Hey dude, can you tell everything about it because our local shop with outdated website asked and yes, don't forget the pedal after washing your car. This is going to such an upgrade for your led TV. Let your SSD or CPU to pick up the sound, because tubes don't have a long lasting life. Bright is just like switching to a neck pickups, but I use those rarely. Go and find your safe bass/middle/treble combination for a perfect mood depending on a song you are listening to. Should have everything else to plug into this amp, could it be 20W is fine for your room.

The clean channel sounded nice, with all eq at 12 o'clock, it had a pleasing, balanced tone. Unfortunately, the gain channel sounded thin and "bee in a jam jar" buzzy. If the only way to approach an even barely acceptable tone is to cut almost all of the mids, there is something very wrong in the design of the tone stack

A Marshall and Fender in one head at a realistic price what's not to like? I mean seriously look at a like this it has more features than a Plexi and isn't a one trick pony. Add a tube screamer and a boost pedal and I bet it gets the heart pounding like you're at a Motley Crue concert. The best thing about it is the head isn't going to cost you close to 4k by itself. Add a 4x12 Greenback loaded slant cab, a modest pedalboard, and you are ready to pull off small venues. I do not harbor having to spend your life savings on equipment to sound good as a local gigging musician. The stage right and wangs amps have the ability to get you where you need to be. Just my opinion.

I set them where they sound the best with no preconceived notions , and I've NEVER found an amp that sounds it's best with all knobs set at noon , dimed , or any other spot . Adjust them to wherever they sound the best .
