This show is unwinnable at the end, which makes it no fun to watch The final questions are too difficult, too many, in not enough time I’ve yet to see anyone actually win it! Same problem with Joey Fatone’s game show…too difficult at the end, no one ever won
I was prepared to complain about all the changes... And then there weren't any! This is very true to the original and the minor changes that were made don't hinder the gameplay. I like the change in the Countdown Round putting more separation between players, because it makes the main game more important. The only things I would say are that I wish they were playing for dollars instead of points (but that's always been a GSN thing), and I wish Higgins were a little quicker with the reading. Maybe that will come as the game evolves. So far, I enjoy it! Well done GSN!
I loved this show in its 1970s run, and I'm really impressed with this version - mainly because it's so much like the original. I did like the one change in the countdown round, giving a little more of an advantage to the leader in the main game (as it should be), and John Michael Higgins does Tom Kennedy proud. Great work!
Tom Kennedy and Monty Hall would be so proud...... I love the format!!! so far it's kept as it is with no changes....... After watching so many of the 80s episodes Of split second with Monty Hall On RUclips 😅😅...... Well done GSN 👍🏾👍🏾... 😎😎
This great Stefan Hatos/Monty Hall-produced game show classic from the '70s is back! And one of my favorite games as a child. I'm glad that GSN revived "Split Second" because I missed that kind of gameplay. John Michael Higgins does a great job picking up where the late, great Tom Kennedy left off and keeps the game moving smoothly.
"where Tom left off" you say? I suppose you never heard of the 1 year 1986 that Monty did himself? It was syndicated both here and Canada. The reruns were shown quite a bit in the 90s
@@PREGO1966 You're right about that! I forgot that Monty Hall did the 1986 revival and it was just as competitive. After all, Mr. Hall *did* co-create "Split Second" with Stefan Hatos and he did a great job continuing the gameplay and action in the same manner that Tom Kennedy did.
That he did my friend. The amounts went up from "Jim Tom's" day, all answers were on the screen like the current one rather than the occasional verbal and the bonus game was only 1 car. Nonetheless it did well. I just didn't like when he changed the end game. The choosing 1 out of 5 screens, then 4, etc. was more like the 70s one. I do recall the 5 car game was redone on the 86 Hollywood a Squares though and a similar one with 1 car and up to 7 keys was on Just Men
This is great, this version is going to be around for a while,Television needs great questions and answers in a good way,and John Michael Higgins is a great choice after America Says. This is the first great reboot to come out of Game Show Network in over a decade.
@@LeotheTiger1234 agreed. There isn't much I would tweak. I would just make the points money values and everyone gets to keep what they win in the front game. Other than that this version is good.
Nice revival of Split Second and must be reading the questions from a IPad instead of the questions cards on the podium and slap Split Second logo on the back of the iPad to cover the apple 🍎 logo.😊
Anyone else notice when a wrong answer is given that clue's dead, even if the question's NOT a 50/50? The previous versions left it open for other players.
The Final Countdown is a great bonus round format; Hell, Split Second actually has a proper bonus round now! If it were still played for a car like the prior versions, I'd sort of mix it with the Winkler-era Hollywood Squares: every right answer would knock a dud key off a rack of 11 (one for every letter in Split Second).
@@nintendonerdsvideos4727 Unfortunately, this is GSN we're talking about. They won't go for that, although I do agree even the runners-up should get some money.

Yep, as you can see in the credits. She was tapped to be a consultant for Marcus/Glass Productions after they acquired the rights to the Hatos-Hall properties. Hopefully they can try to reboot 3 for the Money next.
I was hoping for the original bonus round, where the stage opens to reveal five cars, with only one set up to start. Pick the right one, and it's yours.
@@rick420buzz I don't think GSN has that kind of budget; $10,000 is the new top prize for that network (although America Says has $15,000). Do you like John Michael Higgins as the host?

This is an awesome revival of the classic 1970s & 80s game show. However, I wish this was on ABC (the network that aired the original version of the show). ABC would have given the show a better & bigger budget.
And who knows ABC would have had a set of cars on a bigger stage..... If a contestant were to go to Five games..... Like the old versions of Split Second to win a car
Here's a Split Second question for you: "King" me! Pick one of these and tell me which famous person named King it describes: --Star of The Kissing Booth and Bullet Train --Gave famous "I Have A Dream" speech --Famous CNN interviewer
2 questions: 1. How come each correct answer is not worth money like on the first 2 versions (Kennedy/Hall)? 2. How come the winning contestant does not play the bonus round for a new car like on the first 2 versions (Kennedy/Hall)?
1. The losing players on most (if not all) of the GSN originals go home with nothing. 2. Budget. GSN's top prizes for solo players normally top out at $10K currently. Given the average price of a car (and the taxes players pay on their winnings), cash is the best option.
It would be better if they gave the answers first, then the question. Buzz in at any time, but it interrupts the question reading for the fastest. Also, unless it’s either/or, yes/no, etc, getting a question wrong leave it open for the others. Yes, just like the Kennedy run. Updating the Countdown Round to 4-6-8 gives more of an advantage to the player in the lead, which I’m fine with. Especially since they no longer play for money (GSN budget issue I’m sure), it’s an incentive to play well during the first two rounds. Couldn’t do the car round due to budget, but the end game isn’t bad. It keeps with the main game. Higgins needs to pick up the pace a little. Monty had the same problem at times. Kennedy was a master. Wish there was an actual theme instead of a short interlude but that’s common these days. Set is blah but the original and the 86 version wasn’t great either. The kept the basics the same which is great.
I really think when he is reading the question to the contestants at the end of the game to win the money he really needs to read it a little faster than that and if they get the one question wrong, just MoveOn don’t say no blah blah blah that takes a lot of time

I have a suggestion. Since they probably can't afford cars, why don't they just keep the $10,000 prize money and add to it five passwords? The winner will choose one of them and apply them to one of the five numbered slots on the board. If they pick the right slot, the board will "unlock," revealing the "$10,000." If not, they will not win the $10,000 and the right slot will be revealed. I think that would be true to the original bonus game of the 1970s.
I’m really enjoying this game show. I’m playing along with them & really feel ugh 😑when the person who’s playing the very last part of the game & just about gets to the last question & time runs out drives me nuts. But am really enjoying the majority of the game shows but I’m picky.
One thing that bugs me is when the person wins the main part of the game to try for the 10.000 on the clock ⏰. I’ve noticed that they get incredibly close to the winning answer & time ALWAYS runs out on them! It makes me feel frustrated for them; almost like it’s setup to do this; although I know it really isn’t. But to the host; I wonder if they realize how much time they’re taking away from the game player with their questions? Cause they don’t stop the clock when the game show host gives the question & then start the clock the sec the player gives the answer. Thus the host is in a sense taking away their time slot for getting the answer & winning the game, 10,000! that’s how I see it occurring!
I really like this game now. Like I said the first time, the Game Show Legends Tom Kennedy & Monty Hall would be so proud. RIP!!!
