I’m looking forward to it. There’s one song I really can’t wait for you to hear, and I hope it can be a surprise in game. But either way I’m excited for the playthrough!
I'm surprised nobody requested Dracula's Castle which is the the theme from the castle's entrance, since I think that theme is really cool and really sets the mood. Anyways, I really hope you enjoy the game.
This is my favorite track in the game. I don't hear a waltz in many games so that alone immediately stuck out, and the piano work really is something special.
I find it interesting that two major female game composers (Yamane and Shimomura) are both piano players who have had the opportunity to feature in a live performance of one of their compositions! I really like how this concert arrangement starts off feeling like a perfectly faithful version of the iconic original and then uses variation to expand it even further.
I can't WAIT for these VODs! This game is such a unique celebration of art (both audio and visual!) by a clearly passionate team of artists doing whatever the hell they wanted. Watching someone else like Jesse, who is also passionate about that stuff, is gonna be such good vibes. I hope he gets lost a lot, and dies a lot, so the celebration lasts as long as possible =] The more you get lost, the more unforgettable the songs and their locations get! I hear like 1 second of any of these songs and I'm right back in the game.
I only recently found out that Michiru Yamane has a RUclips channel where she puts up videos of her playing her music, arranged just for the piano. It's a bit funny and endearing at the same time, because the arranges are kind of mid-level (as opposed to virtuosic), and she makes mistakes when playing, they're not practiced to perfection. Watching those videos threw me back to my own piano lessons.
Man, I was literally thinking this song could fit in Medievil as you were listening to the original version . Kew Gardens from Medievil 2 playing in the background did most likely influence that thought though, haha (great games, btw). I love the creepiness of the live version! Dance of Pales/Waltz of Pearls isn't even necessarily in my top favorites, but that was really cool to hear. As for this song sounding specific, Castlevania has both songs that fit where they play, and others that may play in areas you wouldn't quite expect, but still work very well. It's awesome. I wanted to mention too, that I do believe the two different song titles is due to "Pales" being a mistranslation of "Pearls", so "Dance of Pearls" or "Waltz of Pearls" would be the more accurate translation.
You kinda need to realize that this is the only game from that old era, where they literally brought together the best devs and musicians of that time to make it. They went HARD on that. They literally picked them one by one, the cream of the cream and made a best all star team to make this game and OST. Its insane. There is no equal to this. The results speak of themselves. This is easily the best metroidvania from the 90s, along with Super Metroid from the SNES.
Huh, you know I have never heard that last string at the end, wow. Guess I've never spent enough time inside the area to hear the whole thing XD Yamane is right up there with Mitsuda as a legendary composer.
If you can, finding a way to play the game with some sort of CRT filters would be a big enhancement to the experience--SotN in particular built some of its spritework around visual tricks using the way CRTs display images that made for some stunning visuals.
This is one of my favorite songs from SoTN, but that live version was even better. The way they amped up the spooky feeling really suits the game better than the original version.
A perfect addition for spooky month - LoK: Soul Reaver 2 - Ariels Lament, or Castlevania: Lament of Innocencet's Leon's lament. Both amazing pieces of music with that perfect Halloween vibe
Please, for the love of all gods and demons, please, Jesse, do some (any, at your personal discretion) of the characters' (their stages) tracks from first two "Bust A Move" (known in westerner countries as "Bust A Groove" due to legal screw up of the "Bust-A-Move" franchise, known in Japan as "Puzzle Bobble", which is a completely different genre) RBG games, sometime in the future. Especially so highly recommended are: "Warattepon" (Shorty's/Ginga Rina's theme), "Sora To Umi To Niji No Yume" (a.k.a. "Dream of the skies, sea, and rainbows", Frida's/Suguwara Akiko's + DJ IKE's theme), "Aozora No Knife" (a.k.a. "Knife of the blue skyline", Kitty Nakajima's/Morinaga Hatsumi's theme), "I Know" (Pinky's/Donyale Renee-Fredericks' theme), and "FLYIN' TO YOUR SOUL" (a.k.a. "FLY'N TO YOUR SOUL", Robo-Z's/Motsu's theme), from the first game. "HELLO!" (Kitty Nakajima's/Anji's theme), "Moonlight Party" (a.k.a. "Clap Your Hands", Kelly's/Emiko's + DJ Hasabe's theme), "Magic Tower" (Comet's/Oda Reiko's + Sakurai Tetsutaro's theme), "Let The Music Take Control" (Hiro's/Stellar All-Stars' theme), "Zombie Hopper" (BI-O's/Kaname's theme, *WARNING* - it's LOUD by design), "AcID LInE" (Robo-Z GOLD's/Joujouka's theme), and "ENKA 1" (Pander's/Kawai Michiko's + Part of Console's theme), from the second game. Pick any of these, but, if you could, please try to do only original Japanese vanilla versions of those tracks at all costs, as their westerner/localized versions majorly suck (they're heavily cut down and neutered "instrumental" edits and also badly changed/rewritten/bastardized lyrics in some of the tracks that still had vocal songs intact). RUclips user/channel "notesplash" has full OSTs (legally/officially allowed, I believe) for both of these games in their perfectly intact original Japanese form with highest quality of the bitrate/sound stage details, so try that, if anything.
"Pales" is probably a mistranslation. This kind of thing happens often in older game music especially when they use English loanwords transliterated into Japanese.
I lied here and said this is the final song, there's one left coming tomorrow.
I’m looking forward to it. There’s one song I really can’t wait for you to hear, and I hope it can be a surprise in game. But either way I’m excited for the playthrough!
Sweet! Best lie ever.
UNACCEPTABLE! THREE YEARS DUNGEON!!
...in Dracula's castle.
Hm, tomorrow's already over... Guess SotN sucked you in? :D
He said he lied when he said this was the final song but that was actually the lie and it is the final song. Lieception
I'm surprised nobody requested Dracula's Castle which is the the theme from the castle's entrance, since I think that theme is really cool and really sets the mood. Anyways, I really hope you enjoy the game.
This, is easily one of my favorite songs from the game, hope the one song that he is missing is that one
So glad your checking these out. Wood Carving Partita is the best track from this game by the way

Has he started streaming yet, I hope I didn’t miss the stream yet
@@kingtitusthe3rd876 you did miss the first stream BUT it'll be up on "jesse's vods" youtube soon

She's a really sweet lady, and wants to connect with us over her music. Glad to see you supporting her work!!!
This game does such a good job of matching its music to the mood of the environment where it plays. One of my all-time favorites.

lol of course they're the best Metroidvanias, they're the two games that coined the genre :)
The best metroidvania, period.
This is just the perfect Halloween anthem.
Edit: I wrote this comment while watching your video and you just said it and i feel silly
Amazing track, this and dance of gold are some of my favorite tracks from SoTN.
Huh, you know I have never heard that last string at the end, wow. Guess I've never spent enough time inside the area to hear the whole thing XD

Hehe i had completely forgotten but I was there for that concert, it was magical
Damn wish you could also do Final Toccata. That ones epic af
Amazing video.

🥹, so beautiful. Another of my all time favorites

Kew Gardens in the background, nice. Hope you like SotN, it's my favorite game of all time! 😁
THIS is the song that must be played the day I got married, so beautiful.
My fav song in the OST.

aw yee vampire time
I agree - check out Den of Darkness from Octopath Traveler II. Another waltz, ominous and beautiful - again 🙂
Per request, please do: Wood Carving Partita, thanks.
Waiting for the OST from Castlevania Lament Of Innocence.
I love it.
Just so you know Jesse, there is a new one winged angel official song for the new game FF7 Ever Crisis
If you are in the mood for something chill / recent. I would recomment Lies of P Memory of Beach
Could you please react to Dead or Alive Dimensions Helena's, Christie's and Kasumi's theme. They're all so iconic and give me chills

@@bryanedds8922 The original song name is パール舞踏曲, and パール is typically "pearl". ペール would be "pale."
Super subscrito graz! And btw plz do god of war soundtrack by Dream theater 🤘
syuprized noone requested bloody tears hard rock version b
The one you're probably thinking of is actually a mislabeled fan remix, it's not from the Saturn version. It is pretty awesome though.
he knows bloody tears already. can't first-time react to what you already know
might be, its pretty solid tho@@ManiacalForeigner
He should listen to bahamut vs ifrit theme ff16. He will love it.
