Formula hasn't changed one bit, you knew what the people wanted from the very beginning. Deserve every bit of the success, my man. You do incredible work. Much love. p.s. Glad you mentioned about the FGC, def lots of stories from back in the day of folks getting beaten up or stabbed just for doing throws in Street Fighter or MK. Rough stuff. Totally blindsided by the Chinatown Fair mention too!
Thank you for the kind words! Appreciate you being here and sticking around since the start. Yeah man the FGC was a dope scene watching people who were insanely nasty just conquer a game and they didn't even hit the Evo circuit or anything like that. The block just knew who THEM dudes were, lol. It got crazy as it got bigger, and I remember reading and hearing about the violence between people. Sometimes sparked by a loss in a game. Just senseless.
I have to look up that heartbreaking case again, the one where the mother neglected her child to death and all the local folks claiming they didn't even know the child existed when interviewed on the street by reporters from the news. It was one of the first videos I watched from Evil Intentions. It actualy left me shook. The way it was presented with such compassion. A great channel.
Street Justice......That's definitely the 80's I remember. We was definitely lucky his boy's didn't get him. I remember this story but I was so little. Great Video as always!
Poor kid senseless crimes like why man? not only did they take this kids life they ruined their own lives & their families too but we all know the streets in nyc are ruthless at that time even more I appreciate this channel for posting these cases while we can’t help those fallen victims of crimes we can learn
Most of your videos make me feel sad and angry. This one actually made me cry. How senseless. How cruel. And the creeps that did it, basically got nothing. This pisses me off! Awesome video, Jose!
Whats crazy is that both of these guys were released. Joseph in '93 and Richard in '07. Richard's life ended in Middletown (NY) in 2016 during a police altercation. The articles about Jonny's death were also crazy. One female witness was giggling and most of the kids in the arcade were either not paying attention or staring.
The children should not be expected to act. The fact that they were being neglected there by adults is the issue. Children protecting each other is the thing of domestic violence and movies. It is a trauma response of hyper vigilance. I'm sure those children are adults know dealing with serious trauma of being a witness a brutal murder with no adult to help. I would not be surprised if many of them turned to alcohol and drugs to cope. They are blaming themselves for something they should never have been put in a situation to.
Sending so much love and support to Jonny’s loved ones, especially his mama and sister. I am so sorry for the loss of your precious son and brother. He was so handsome and seems like he was a genuinely great guy! 😢

You never lied about the arcade scene. I grew up in the Bronx during the 80s/90s with arcade machines being in bodegas, pizza shops, and Chinese restaurants.
Yep, same here, but on the upper west side. The entire Douglass would be in and out of spots like burger joints, and pizzerias playing street fighter and MK. So happy I was able to experience that.
This was so sad to hear. I’m heartbroken 💔 for the family. Such a tragic loss for no reason at all. NYC has the same motto back then as now: mind your business and keep moving. It’s such a shame and disheartening to know that no one intervened. He was alone with these 2 monsters POS that should’ve been found earlier and let the street justice get them. I have a son the same age and just to think this could happen to him or anyone? Wrong place wrong time thing. It’s like a saying in Spanish goes “ Los hijos son prestados” which can be translated something like “children are borrowed” but tell that to a grieving mother. Rest in peace

Thank you for telling these stories Jose they are always tragic and mostly heinous but they need to be heard even how sad and tragic glad you make these stories known
This is why I avoided arcades. Unless it was at the mall. Or at specific places that were kid friendly. I always noticed that these arcades or just spots that had one or two stand alone games. Always attracted wanna tough guys and thugs. Who would harass the younger kids who just wanted to play a game. I'm glad my mother got me a Nintendo to keep me at home.
I love that you give a complete background of the individual and area you are talking about. It makes the victim more human. I know that’s what you intend to do. I’m sure the loved ones of these victims appreciate that. Keep up the good work! Side note: I’m from Chicago. Born & raised. Your channel has really peaked my interest in NYC. I hope to visit one day!
Hi tuning in from Scotland, UK. Just wanted to say i love the way you tell the stories on your channel with so much compassion. You’re doing great work. Stay safe and take care 😘🏴
I was never a fan of arcades! They were to me a creepy place, and then my feelings were confirmed when it was later discovered that arcades were a hot spot for pedophiles, because the kids would be groomed by generous "friends" giving out the coins to keep the kids happy!
I've heard those stories, too, for sure. That's terrible. Happy I never had that experience. It's terrible anyone ever had to worry about that. People can be scum.
Several shows did episodes on this. A dark, den like atmosphere where children’s better judgment is inhibited by the dopamine rush of the video games. Its really creepy when u think about who probably patrolled them looking for victims
My new favorite channel. You embody remarkable integrity and character, and your approach to each case is truly commendable. Your respect and gentleness shine through, providing a voice to these special souls who deserved to be heard in life. Thank you for your unwavering dedication to honoring their stories. Your work makes a profound difference, and it’s vital that we continue to support and uplift these voices together. Respect.💙
What a sad and tragic story...I was horrified by the fact that these two guys only got 7 to 20 years...all because of mistaken identity ...very sad indeed
I just recently began watching your channel and I gotta say omg sometimes my heart has broken watching what monsters people truly can be starving children to death, beating children to death or throwing them alive omg keep bringing us the stories with your gentle voice and truth. Thank you
All 5 boroughs were jumping in the 70s and 80s. Clubs like Platos Retreat made Studio 54 seem tame. Skating rinks like United Skates had big acts like Madonna back then. She was very friendly to our friends before and after she was really famous. Gangs like Park Slope Boys would have wars with Bay ridge Boys every summer. The wild times changed dramatically when crack hit the streets. 49st in sunset park became known as Little Vietnam because of daily shootouts, note, no Asian people lived there. It was just wild.
I used to frequent the game room on the deuce...always with my head on a swivel and would never go past the first five machines near the door, in case I needed to make a quick exit. RIP, Jonny
Wow, what a coincidence you brought this case up. I believe I made a mention in a previous video of yours about going to PLAY LAND arcade in Times Square in the 80s and early 90s. There was another arcade right down the block also. Those arcades would be packed on FRIDAY nights. I MISS THOSE DAYS!!! 😢😢😮😮 Also, have you ever heard of Father John from Hunts Point. A local beloved Catholic Priest who would not tell the police about the 3 young men who confessed to him about killing another man for abusing his GF and left his body in Manida Park. It was a huge deal back in the day. It made national news. Would you cover that tragic situation? I think it would be a great opportunity for you. I personally adored Father John and what he would do for the HUNTS Point community in the 80s and early 90s. 😢😢. Another fine job by you. Thank you for all of your hard work and dedication to telling it like it really WAS. Gracia.
You are such an amazing storyteller. You really captured the energy in your description of the 80’s. Your voice and your calm manner of speaking is so calming. I always enjoy listening to your videos. Rest in peace, Johnny. ❤🕊️

What a sad story, I hope Jonny and his family found some peace. R.I.P 🕊️🙏
Looking forward to watching this video and learning about Jonny. You’re very good at what you do!
Thank you for the new video. I look forward to them.
Thank you for watching!
Thank you so much and Godspeed to the family ❤
I FREAKING LOVE THIS CHANNEL…….Thank you for sharing them with us. It is important. I appreciate you Hunni, mad blessings 🙏🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼
I love how Jose put does old footage 📺 in his videos. Makes you vivid so how life was.
I also love when I see 90's clips 📺....life was somehow good.
My guy is back with another video.
I really miss Dick Clark on New Year's Eve. It's good to see this.
'83-'84 was the first one I remember watching. I was just about to turn six.
@@ejwh1778 wow. I remember being a kid and watching American Bandstand every weekend. Followed by Soul Train! Life was so much easier then.
@onlymebaby.9249 yes! When the cartoons were over, it was time for Bandstand and Soul Train.
Hi tuning in from Scotland, UK. Just wanted to say i love the way you tell the stories on your channel with so much compassion. You’re doing great work. Stay safe and take care 😘🏴
14:04 - Everybody needs friends like that 💯
I love this channel thank you for spotlighting crimes that I’ve not heard of prayers to the victims family
Love this channel, you take us to another place and time with your expertly told sad stories.😢
Never knew about that angle with arcades. That's so gross.
@@TheRetroWoman80Right 😳
Several shows did episodes on this. A dark, den like atmosphere where children’s better judgment is inhibited by the dopamine rush of the video games. Its really creepy when u think about who probably patrolled them looking for victims
So true
I absolutely love your videos and how much hard work you put in each video, along with the respect you give the victims family. ❤
Love this channe, no gimmicks, just straight up great research, and best storyteller, on the tube. By the way, love ur voice
Rest In Power Jonny, that was tragic what they did to them.
Right on ...I'm from Vernon B.C.Canada and I love your channel❤
I went to the same school as him I had no idea, rest in peace❤️
I just recently began watching your channel and I gotta say omg sometimes my heart has broken watching what monsters people truly can be starving children to death, beating children to death or throwing them alive omg keep bringing us the stories with your gentle voice and truth. Thank you
Thanks for the upload and telling this senseless story of a murder that should never had happen RIP Jonny habib
RIP 🙏 Johnny you are loved and missed
With your passion for the subjects you cover you remind me of Al Profit.
Keep up the good work, mate.
Hi Jose! Thank you for the upload!
Also, have you ever heard of Father John from Hunts Point.
You telling me out of all these kids at that arcade, neither of them gotten together to prevent this murder ?
I love your channel. You have helped me through tough times . Thank you ❤️
This channel is top notch 💯good historical information and very respectful to victims and their families
This is so sad to hear ... I grew up in Nyc. I lived in The Masaryk Towers b FDR drive. I have seen a lot growing up there. Even one of my sisters was murdered and the cops never tried even looking for the person. It's gut wrenching. It's a shame that people lose their life for dumb shit! Makes no damn sense. I'm glad that they caught the killers! No sense at all!! God bless his mom and family may he continue to give them strength everyday of their lives. It's been years since my sister was murdered, not one day goes by that she is not on my mind.
I'm very, very sorry for your loss. I appreciate you being here and taking the time to watch these.
@@EvilIntentions no worries I will always have luv for my my bros and sis ... I was happy to see this your blogs ... I still have fam on 12th street Ave B and also in the Bronx and LES too by Houston St Masaryk Towers!
@chinadoll1988
My, condolences and may what's in the dark be revealed - leaving no stone unturned .
I am really proud of you, young man. Telling these tragic stories thoroughly and with such care, is amazing. Jose, keep up this much needed work. People like me from Bedstuy Brooklyn, born and raised, appreciate how you tell these stories with class and care for the grieving families. Please tell the story of the young 16 yr old girl Chanel , who was my niece's best friend growing up, from Fulton Street in Bedstuy, who met a guy online and met him at Applebee's, but he killed her and was found in black garbage bags.
I grew in Yonkers and I remember most of your stories, thank you for the information, keep up the good work..
The BEST storyteller on RUclips ❤
Wow great research and storytelling RIP JONNY 🙏🏿❤️
You shed light on those who have been forgotten❤️ Thank you!
Rest In Peace Jonny Habib🪽
You’re a NYC treasure Jose, the love and care you give to all victims and the family of the victims is priceless! You’re truly the voice of the voiceless! May god bless you, your family and everyone that is touched by work…
I was a college student living on the upper east side when I moved to NYC. I know those streets you featured well.
So much loss for absolutely nothing.
Why didn't the token seller call the police or grab a weapon and help? Wasn't he an adult? He was stronger than two teens.
Exactly 💯🧐
Is this s bot? So obvious. Stop it.
