Impressed with how those small looking scale wheels handle the grass. Lovely looking model too. Drone air to air footage definitely adds another layer 👌
Elegant bird! Very nice maiden. Reminded me straight away of hanging out at Davis-Monthan AFB, Tucson, Arizona. That is where all the A-10 crews practice touch 'n Go's 24/7. Yes, more A-10 vids would be sweet. The drone follow-me footage was a welcome surprise, thank you!
Awesome Tank buster, on of my favorites! Absolutely love the chase drone really adds some excitement to the video! I thought it was going to hit on that top turn. Really hope you continue with the chase drone 10/10 guys keep up the fantastic work.
Love the Hat-less A-10 comment.. laughed well hard!! What a Gorgeous Model! Very scale, Lots of power and Fans that actually come balanced!! Have a few FMS models and they're quite good...seems they've really stepped it up a few notches!!! What's better than two A-10 EDF's? Three of them... got to have this one.. it's beautiful in that scheme!! Thanks Dom and Jason!!! Epic Flying from both!!!
I had one of the orginal V1 A10s and it was terrible, under powered and Landing gear couldn't withstand grass ops. Glad to see it with the updates and upgrades!!
First time we've done that. Jason makes it look easy which I suspect it isn't. I think he's looking forward to trying again and improving on the shots he got this time.
Like myself, just another chrome dome hold'in some foam!!😀🤪 I really liked the video editing with the drone work. The A-10 is easy to see from the ground and the air. It's great that it only uses one 6s, not two. Every A-10 on the market has it's ups and downs. I'm glad FMS upgraded the V2. I like it most. AirHammer out!!
Alright gov, great vid mate. I've been checking out your channel for a little while now, definitely like your videos. This particular A10 is just awesome!! The scale detail is pretty killer and I notice once you got on the throttle, she moves REALLY quick. ,👍💯😁
Appreciate the feedback. Flying scale isn't all about speed. Was a maiden flight but I tried to show a mix of fast, slow and aerobatics. We'll explore the flight controller/stabiliser on the next flight video.
Just purchased my FMS A-10 V2 , weather too crap to test fly it yet , I have the E-Flite A-10 which flys a treat (1st EDF model) but didn't realise how much bigger the FMS one is , think I'll have to double up on the nappy (diaper if you are America ) for the 1st flight
It's an easy A-10 to fly. Just make sure you are aware of the gyro modes and how to switch between them in flight. Only weak point on this model is the nose gear mount. Stupid plastic box. Fly off a nice surface and you shouldn't have a problem. Good luck !
I will buy one soon but what do you think about changing the existing gears by trailing-link? Our landing site is some rough with grass. Could you tell me the diameter of the frontand rear wheels please?
Great video , very interesting with Fms gyro ( reflex). During flight , did you manage to change the gyro through its 3 positions or did you have it turned off all together? Big salute from Nottingham..👊👊👊👍👍🇬🇧
Off with the exception of 1 circuit when I had it in Stabilised mode which immediately gave it that 'fly on rails' feeling but limited roll and pitch. It is a mode for Beginners so understandable. I didn't get a chance to try Optimised. I'll explore that next time.
Definitely the coolest looking Camouflage-colors in my opinion! But so much more interesting would be to know?!, where can we buy this flying R/C - Hat???. 😉😆😬👍🏼
@@BenWayne85 Stock legs on the Freewing need replacing with the trailing link versions they sell so there's extra cost. In 5 flights with the FMS A-10 off grass its not suffered. All down to the lower weight due to the one 6S pack putting the landing gear through less strain on the landing gear.
Essential RC right, I literally have been torn between the two models for about 6 weeks. The freewing does have dual 80mm EDFs, which our upgradable to 90mm, vs the standard 70mm on the FMS. Here in Atlanta there is hardly anywhere to fly so I fly from a rogue field and the grass is really rough, that is my main concern.
Brilliant video as always dom, I have just bought this and wondered (as I have yet to maiden) do the flaps have much effect... p.s I've come a long way since I bought your voltanex p51 😀
Using flaps for take off and landing is a must on most jets Gareth. They are very effective on this. Follow the instructions on the throws and use them. They will help you land slowly and reduce the shock on the landing gear.
Yeah...FMS and Horizon have put their prices up in a big way. The Freewing A-10 although still expensive is the better jet I think. We found that the mount for the nose gear on the FMS A-10 is very weak plastic.
@@atlanticancameos5131 No. I would guess 120-130mph...but it's not built for speed. Even the full size A-10 is NOT built for speed. It's built to carry massive amount of ordnance which it rains down with precision on multiple targets.
You and me both! Flying location is the issue. Noisy things turbines although this K45 should be a lot quieter in the air. Hoping we will get permission to fly it locally this weekend. If not I'll find somewhere else. I have had kind offers but weather hasn't been great recently so not taken those offers up.
@@EssentialRC oh i see, regulations with turbines ? Hope you get it soon mate, all the best. that will be an exciting video, i loved the build video too. cheers
I used one 6S6000 pack but having owned this jet a while I've realised it's main fault is the mount for the nose gear retract. It's terrible. Weak plastic and impossible to fix. Installed beech engine bearers to mount the retract unit on and still got pulled out on smooth landings. It's a shame but not recommended unless you run off asphalt runways.
Left main gear fell off on take off. Landed the plane with full flaps gear hanging by the wire took out the flap.main landing gear held on basically by two half inch foam blocks very poor design. The plane actually flew very well almost like a trainer to me around a hundred miles an hour with the 6s 5000 50c. 3 and 1/2 minutes max flying time. Devastating main gear design flaw. Needs to be corrected before selling any new units. I'm really going to miss it.

Big fan of the drone footage. Hope to see it again in other videos
Jason's first time doing that. Other than one big collision it went fine !
We can certainly do more of the drone footage, the little incidents will make for a Great compilation at the end of the year 👍🏻
Wish I had flown one for my friend and it flies beautifully.
Your hat wants to fly, too! 😀😀😀 Thank you for sharing this very informative video! 👍👍
Absolutely stunning aircraft.
It really is very very good. Thanks.

It's freeflight, not radio controlled. I'll do a flight test soon.

Do you mind describing how this is better than the Freewing A-10?
Quicker assembly. Decals already applied. Flies on a single 6S5000 pack so lots lighter. More agile and easier to land.
Essential RC what about grass ops, the freewing looks like it will roll over ANYTHING. How do the scale wheels handle tough grass on the FMS.
