I love that this movie is revisited and analyzed decades after its creation a true master piece.
Over 20 years later and we're still analysing The Matrix. It's not as if we are subjecting releases like The Gladiator to profound levels of analysis - another great movie released around the same time - it shows how profound an impact The Matrix has had on the human mind and how profound a movie it truly is, and how profoundly it relates to reality.
Simple humans are unpredictable, and the oracle brought that unpredictability into the MATRIX which sort of rendered her and the Architect's useless. The machines functioned like a hive mind, but the anomaly brought about individuality allowing each program to act on its own making them basically human.
That's why Neo was very predictable

I wonder if the Oracle single handedly created the Agents... It seemed PERSONAL...
She created Smith and the "rebels" she is just there to destroy the matrix, to keep the matrix safe
I doubt she single-handedly created them, but she was a co-creator of The Matrix along with The Architect. Hence the mom line.
I actually believe she did have at least some involvement with Smith's creation.
1. Smith was more emotional than his fellow agents. The others were strictly business, no emotion at all, and had a very flat affect.
2. The way he said, "You would know, Mom." As if he were saying,"I am as you made me."
The Oracle is all powerful and intelligent and cunning in both species, human or machine. She is a learning program that can predict. I like the idea that she evaded the purge. I want to see her again in future matrix movies.
I think the analyst assimilated both the oracles and the architect's programs. He seemed to have the knowledge of both programs. Just a thought.
I don't think so he seemed to despise the architect. and I think Sati would have hinted if the oracle was assimilated.

We saw a program become human, in Matrix Reloaded. Not so far fetched a human could become a program. Also the arrow In the Courtyard and graffiti Neo points to the Oracle, in Matrix reloaded
I always thought the cookie programed Neo to be The Savior.
Serious fan of TM here - been following you for a long...LONG time. I have to say - I don't always agree with your conclusions, but I seriously LOVE your way of exploring the "between the lines" discovery you often do. Constantly gives me new ways of considering the storyline.
Also - can we pretend TM4 doesn't exist, or do I need to truly take it seriously and watch it again (watched it once)? Not gonna lie - I truly hated it. I feel like the story was complete, and studio wouldn't let it go, so Wakowsky decided to make #4 a big middle-finger to the studio.
The fact that you hate her is part of the plan of the movie. The philosophical messages are still there, but you must open your mind this time to understand their meanings. When I saw it for the first time, I didn't feel hate, but I did feel discomfort, a lot of discomfort... especially because of the histrionic characters, bad jokes. I saw her again and I knew what was happening; the message was there and not only that, I was being part of the experiment myself by hating her.
My mom summed up the Matrix movie well. They were inside a computer, and a whole bunch of double speak.

that final conversation with the oracle and neo is one of the most chilling scenes in a non horror movie that I have ever seen. Imagine being told what neo was told after what he saw with the architect having already made his choice to save trinity. just imagine what was going on in his mind.
Next, can you explain what happened at the end of Revelutions? Did Agent Smith become the oracle or Neo? Did all three integrate?
So, The Architect called Neo 'the sum of a remainder of an unbalanced equation' (may not be an exact quote, but you get the idea).
The Oracle called Smith Neo's 'equal, his opposite' (same as above).
So, The Matrix is metaphorically and unbalanced equation. The One is the remainder of said unbalanced equation. Smith is The Ones' opposite (Negative One, so to speak). Add them together and you solve the equation and stop the cascade failure. Smith's infection of everyone in The Matrix is removed (human and machine) and the The Matrix carries on in a stable state.
Cain and Abel
I was let down personally with some aspects of the 4th movie, given the dope lore that was estabalished keeping the franchise alive. At this point, making a new movie doesn't make sense to me. Do a Series on Max or Paramount +, etc with a solid budget, new characters as the main cast, with guest and supporting appearances from movie hero characters.
Expanding on the lore in a 2 hour movie is limiting. Give us a 4 season series

Ok I was watching a video of yours about matrix reloaded discussing the strange symbol that showed a crescent moon. I am in a hotel on vacation I looked up crescent mood on google and found the usual but nothing interesting. I went into the shower and on the soap packet was an image of a crescent mood with lines pointing to star constellations. Almost exact to that picture you showed. From video to shower was about 20 min.
Next RUclips idea: deep fake the old oracles actresses face on the new actresses face.
After that, do Smith on Smith and Morpheus on Morpheus.
It would have been so much better in 4 if they revealed the Oracle was working for the Machines that wanted to overthrow the source. Then used the power shortage and human uprising as an excuse for an attack.
It's as if Shakespeare wrote Build Your Own Adventure books.

i reall do not want to watch Matrix 4. i've heard so many bad things about it that i really do not want to get my image of the Matrix Universe ruined. but i watch videos such as this one where creators remove the "bad" elements of this last installment and add the "good" ones to the lore, enriching it further. i am impressed as how much this idea influences till today. fascinating.
I've watched it what, 2 years ago now? It really doesn't matter now, I've rewatched the Reloaded 2-3 times now, especially in the last 6 months, the Lord of the Rings trilogy and other things worth watching.
Any issues with the movie get fixed by this channel, to thepoint that I don't really care about how good or bad M4 is... Feel free to, you won't loose much after 2 years not watching it, i think. There are so many dissapointments, you might even like some aspects of it. The worst thing about m4 is it's complete lack of grandiosity...

You could say the Oracle's vision and legacy is IO. In that sense she was successful.
Question is why was the truce between Zion and the machines broken? Was this before or after the machine civil war?
I really don't think an alias of the oracle is 'the intuitive program', I just think the architect was describing her as intuitive. And perhaps by attributing her perceived divinity to mere intuition debases the humans' faith in her, to demoralise them/him.

Unless this exposition is just a play on perspectives, it's flawed.
Nothing is the Oracle's fault, the system can't be perfect, because humans don't accept it. She found a way to maintain them in cycles; if not, then humanity would've vanished.
On iterations, some anomalies became more aware and powerful; we suspect the Merovingian was one.
The Oracle took notice of this and waited for one that would follow through.
The Oracle was not a saint. He lied to Neo three times to his face. The first was telling him that Neo or Morpheus would die, the second was when he told him that he was the Chosen One and then telling him that the Chosen One was a lie. The third thing happens on the playground before the copies of Smith come; she tells him that he has to go to the fountain but for that he will need the Keymaker; in Matrix Revolutions he tells him that being with The Architect was not the plan and he should not have seen him but now he had to go to the city of the machines. A full-fledged manipulator, for the worse, she infected the codes of humans with cookies or candies as The Merovingian did with the cake, giving them serotonin, dopamine or adrenaline according to their convenience.
But during marching civil war humans should have easily taken side of machine group that were supporting peace with humans and destroy the opposing machine group and live in harmony like the old animatrix days, right???

Agent smith was an old program, amde to dellete the old version of matrix and reboot it from the start if a big huge mistake was made, witin like prophisises. but matrix is big its hard for mashines to find and stop him, so it was easier to make neo deactivete him, so the matrix stays with humans alive

It's as if the Oracle and Architect have now merged to form the Analyst, to now both guide and control Neo, but still not powerful enough to control him when both Neo and Trinity come together. If love transcends the machine world there's really nothing the machines can ever do about it other than to try make him forget himself and live a mundane life. In the end that's all the machines ever really seem to want out of Neo, to take the damn medicine (so to speak). 😅
So why not just kill Neo and be done with it? Perhaps they want to keep feeding off Neo and Trinity's output, or perhaps if they can't create a perfect imitation or form (like the idea of Plato's forms) of love themselves it would seem to undermine their entire role in being in control in the first-place? and so maybe that's why some machines end up going back to being servants of the humans, that could also imply that the machines were too eager to cast aside Persephone's role 😯.

Makes sense since that's what the machines were trying to do, attempting to create a perfect simulacrum and basically become God and entrap humanity forever.
However, the machines are like someone trying to recreate the colonel's secret recipe but they only have 10 of the 11 herbs and spices. So maybe the Matrix movies were really a dark comedy? 😆
Nevertheless I'd argue they actually got to 10.5 herbs and spices with Persephone, but hubris and logic was their undoing. Interestingly both Neo and Persephone both had associations with death, Neo was brought back from the dead, and the Oracle told Trinity that she'd fall in a love with a dead man, but tragically for Persephone (and fortunately for the humans still trapped in the matrix) she never got her resurrection.

How did agent smith return in matrix 4, wasn’t the equation balance when neo and smith both died
The simple fact that Neo exists makes the existence of Smith necessary. This happened since Neo got into his body fusing his code with it. Now Smith is back but with his source code fixed and his RSI changed. The fact that we see the new Smith with a "new armor" was to mislead Neo and not remember the original (although there is also the possibility that only we see him as Neo sees him, just like Neo himself did, and he continues with his original image).
The Oracle's cookies destroyed everything.

@@mabusestestament actually there's a lot to explain about Terminator 2 there's also a book and we know the book doesn't go by the movie they can even use Storm of the Century Stephen King go by the actual TV show / movie just like they did with Pennywise in it in the 80s and do a deep down look into the lore I've not Stephen King of his book and what it meant it was the protagonist who was the person pulling the strings blah blah blah yackity smackity I understand what you mean what you're saying but it would keep their Channel alive instead of them every 6 months popping back up for The Matrix like I said they can do another Channel it's called rebranding they can still leave Matrix explained alone and do another type of movie with the same narrator. I would use an hour out of my day to listen to what they had to say about said movie. Because they make great content was just an example. Something they could probably do that's all. With Terminator 2 there is a beginning a middle and an end but in between there are parts there's books lots of them you can even use the newer Terminators to talk about Terminator 2 to talk about the lore The Matrix what's a 3 quill I didn't spell that right but whatever and I made the new one so as the new movie came out they came out with more videos. Then when it ended after about six months after the movie they didn't have anything else that's all I was doing was advice to continue on the RUclips channel or add-on to the RUclips channel or at another RUclips channel either or a lot of RUclipsrs Rebrand everyday. To be honest I don't have a definitive answer for you

Just because she balanced the equation doesn't mean she was meant to destroy The Matrix, in Resurrections we are left to postulate whether she even made it through the program purge. Just as other programs were taken out of the equation so could she have been also.
She could have been purged or committed suicide.

Where did the Oracle outright lie other than not telling the whole truth?
You can not include areas that were not shown, such as Morpheus and the Oracle prior to the movies, as we do not exactly what was said. It is at least possible that she was vague enough that her words could be misinterpreted.
Also, what would have happened if the Oracle told the whole truth? The One would probably not reload the Matrix, and humanity would die, taking at least most of the machines.

First thing is that machines ever tried to merge with their creators. So this reality is the result of her success.
She proposed with the choice to accept the simulation or not, while some of them that weren't accepting that simulation were unplugged and sent to Zion, the other were still inhabitants of the Matrix.
But to control Zion they created the legend of the One being able to control both words. Besides giving hope, the purpose of the one is basically to collect data for a newer update of the system and the Architect, so, in this case, the fault is all on Neo (by Merovingian's words). That's why Neo comes from the source as all programs, he's the son of the Architect as Jesus.
When first releasing the One the Matrix started to collapse, because the people of the Matrix, who were accepting the simulation started to rebel to the figure of the One himself teaming with the anti-one aka the S-Myth, even if that choice was, as before, in their subconscious. At the end the death/digitalizaton of Neo resulted balancing the equation, saving all the population that refused Neo.
But by "deleting" the Architect and the Oracle the suits became unable to control the mainframe.
But their code is on backup inside Neo and Trinity's bodies and inside the cat or its collar (I think that's a Man in Black reference), that's why I believe their paths are destined to follow the route of their predecessors.

Maybe the oracle just left. There must be more to the world. She could just be a server somewhere.
She could have backed herself up into the cookies she fed other people perhaps.
The question I ask myself is why machines need humans so much. Frankly with all their knowledge they cannot find other sources of energy? I don't think that makes any sense. Unless machines need humans for something else and the energy thing is a lie. I wonder if machines don't need the ability of humans to create and imagine incredible things. So they need humans for something they can't find anywhere else. Something that makes humans unique and irreplaceable. I've always seen the Matrix machines as parasites. This obsessive need they have to control humans so they can "parasite" them is fascinating and unsettling. All that energy to control humans. In the 4 it is even more delirious. The idea that the "new boss" of the Matrix is forced to recreate Neo and Trinity and devise a whole complex system to deal with them is confusing. In short, I think everyone can imagine what they want but I find this whole affair inconsistent. One thing is certain for me the oracle is the greatest manipulator of Matrix. Someone deeply vicious and with bad intentions.

If we are going by your theory of The Oracle wanting peace by not intentionally wanting Neo to end up the way he ended up, then I would have to say Oracle's intentions were malice in nature because she knew exactly what she was doing and knew exactly how Neo's outcome was going to be. Someone or something that manipulative is methodical and insidious in nature, and that kind of nature fully lives in the philosophy of breaking a few eggs to make an omelet. Everything was set as planned. None of this was an accident, not even Neo's demise.
She needed a sacrificial lamb and Neo was there to bare the cross.
So many things have be sayed about the matrix, and like with most things u people forget that nether the agiteck or the orecael was the leaders of the machines or the matrix, they wher only programs in the mainfrem! So non of enythink in the 4movie makes sens and a only a cheap mony-grap.
Like usual, the simple explanation is that the Matrix sequel must ended with Matrix Revolutions, but in their greed the producers unballance the story and the final logic is lost. The same stupid greed was used with Pirates of the Caribbean series, etc. The rest is useless assumptions...
