  • Late April 2024. Got a few and lost a couple of good flatties too, but thats fishing. Also, lost half of my footage when my Go Pro camera silently turned itself off for about 2 hours.

Very good haul pete, i like the idea of the glove too. Buried a treble in my finger the other day all the way. Fun to get out on your own aswell. Had to turn it all the way round an push it out back through my finger. Fun times 😂

Yeah Andrew, the glove is mainly for the flatty spines. Luckily, I've only had 2 small hooks of a size 14 treble off a small bream hardbody in my leg a few years back. They went in past the barbs but ripped out easily enough due to their size. I don't want to try it with a Samaki or Transam treble😨

Those lake flatties are so powerfull once they get above 60cm.

Yeah mate, the big ones can pull pretty hard. I've noticed only a few of the larger ones do a screaming run first up, but most of the larger ones I've caught seem to be stuck on the bottom upon initial hook set as if they're buried in the sand/mud making them feel even bigger than they are. I don't know if my suggestion is whats actually happening, but if anyone else has a theory, please post it??

@@petersimpson4916 i just reckon the big girls don’t know they are hooked.😉
Lost so many blades to them in Bonnells, and way too many crankbaits to those monster choppers.
Thought you may keep a few 55cm flatties for a feed every now and then ?

@@adzoutnabout888 Yeah mate, I remember losing many small blades to flatties when I first started bream fishing in Lake Mac a few years back.
I don't normally keep fish. If they're bleeding heavily and don't survive in the live well about 15 mins later, then I would take them home for dinner. Think its only happened less than 10 times in the last 5 years with flatties only.
