It doesn’t make any difference how old the kid was if he had a weapon going into the school.
I agree, but serious question, at what point WOULD age matter? If the child was 10? 7? 4? A 4 year old child, with a real 22, trying to walk into a school, and won't listen to orders to stop or drop the weapon.... the police are supposed to kill the 4 year old right????

HUGE W for this community. Local politics provided the resources to make sure these police officers were able to do their job and now we can celebrate these children all coming home to their families.
I wouldn't call what happened a "win" or a reason to "celebrate." This was a shocking and devastating experience for a very tight knit community. I grew up in Mount Horeb. This is a very, very sad day.
A child carrying a loaded weapon, is an adult, and subject to elimination.

Now everyone is going to start talking about taking away guns. Even though the gun laws in place had to have been followed. People with issues are always going to do these things. I was there we had to run out of the school into the a small room in a near by place and HIDE I have to do this on my IPad because my phone is at school in tell Friday so ya It was scary and we had to stay there for 7 hours and 30 minutes then we went on the bus and went to the the fire station and wait for parents
