Since watching this video steve ,my t6.1 204 dsg has been back to Van Haven its now has the virtual cockpit upgrade, a lovely perforated leather steering wheel with matching blue stiching, alloy pedals and matching blue stiching on the gear lever gaiter, also alloy gear lever caping ,and a lovely new centre console fridge freezer with matching leather arm rest. Also the rear of the van has had a extension remodeling. Its so much more user friendly now
@StaycationLifestyle it was a great show lots of terrific vans on show ,would have liked to see more swampers on show but the big rigs certainly get my vote 🗳 😀
I ordered and purchased my t6.1 204 dsg lwb highline kombi from van haven ,its now 2 years old and has covered just over 25,000 miles. Only last weekend I was in Ireland with the van and will be going back in August. My van is extremely modified, having a full custom interior and colour coded dash board and door handles. Bespoke leather sports seats ,twin sliding soft closing doors and tailgate. We have upgraded alpine door speakers and tweeters, upgraded kicker rear speakers, and 2 separate wall mounted kicker sub woofers in the rear of the van .and a 15.5 inch drop down dvd player mounted to the roof .front swivel seats and a 40 winks queen size rear bed .we also have a fiamma 45s awning fitted to the driver's side of the van and a remo awning rail fitted to the passenger side of the van. We have factory LED lights, the discover media system, plus all the safety features, plus auto park . We have upgraded the front lighting with Grill mounted Lazer lamps and Lazer utility 25 lamps to the rear of the van to aid reversing at night. We have a 4 way infra red camera system fitted to the van to assist with the vans blind spots. We absolutely love our t6.1 204 ,we have fitted Bf goodridge k02s tyres 245 65 17 on fuel colverts alloy wheels and bilsten b6 comfort suspension with eibach 35mm lift kit springs and shocks. The ride is fantastic. We also have a full size spare wheel carrier on the tailgate, a rear ladder and a bravo snorkel to complete the swamper look .we have been all over Europe, England Wales Scotland and Ireland in our van .we bought it to use it and we haven't stopped doing that since we got it 🤟
Totally agree about the foot rest. It's something that takes a while to get used to and the storage up front could be better. The 6.1 will be a further classic in my opinion because it does everything very well. Prices are high right now but it could be the best time to buy because I'm not sure people will have the same appetite for the Ford based Transporter and the VW Multivan just doesn't cut it as a full fat camper.
For me I wasn’t a fan of the ACC until I actually used it, it’s a game changer works so well and makes this long trips so much more relaxing so glad I have it especially on the motorway full conversion t32 LWB 2021 I’m getting between 34-39mpg but I stick to the speed limits 50,60,70 and it’s not my daily driver.
The ACC is far better than the T6, works really well. If driven sensibly you can get good mpg returns. Think I got 42mpg in a DSG camper on 700 mile round trip. Like you, driving to speed limits
Best part of the T6.1, worst part is the crap quality heating control. Mine has broken again after only 3 and a half years of use. At 2 years old I had to have all the dash out to get an arm replaced that changes hot to cold. I think mine has just gone again.
Bay Leaf Green T6.1 coming?? 😊 I live in Ireland and there I was able to order from factory the upgraded interior/insulation and digital cockpit. Then I purchased all the Van-X goodies (glove box lid and rubber inserts for doors/dashboards etc and I can tell you that my van is now extremely comfortable and “future proof”
My wife has a T6 long wheel base which works great for her as a daily driver with the dogs on board, my I have a T6.1 SWB Kombi which suits my needs much better also a daily 😉 as you’ve said you can’t compare these to motor homes having had these in the passed they do become an expensive item for weekend use only & also the parking or storage was a problem or expensive. We can at least park both of our T6’s on our driveway side by side win win 😊
People won't be doing T7 facelifts on older vans cos it's a totally different van to the previous ones lol 😅🤣 where as T5 to T6.1 are essentially the same body shell....
There is a lot of work for T5 to 6.1. New wings, bumper, bonnet, lights etc. it’s a whole new front end, so I wouldn’t rule out someone doing it in the future. I totally understand your point though
First drive of my DSG 6.1 camper and, having only ever owned manual cars previously, I did the whole left-foot braking, nose hitting the windscreen thing. I was concerned this would be an ongoing problem, but, strangely, it's never happened since. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Fantastic. Always liked the idea of a centre console fridge. What did you think of the show?

I think it will hold well too. The newer options aren’t as appealing, at the moment.
Getting back in my T6 it was nice to get my footrest back 😀

Lovin the dash and the steering wheel carbon fibre and blue stitching.. but the wheels noooooooooooooo .😂😂 looking forward to seeing the next vlog .
@@Nothing_Nothing485 That’s the beauty of these vans. We all have different tastes

If only I could 🤔 But unfortunately not yet.
Sounds like what I’d like for mine 👍🏼
Side foot plate is essential for me. I suffer sciatica and need to stretch my left leg out on long journeys
You know you want one. Go Leighton Vans too, far better than the others trying to do now what they have for years
Get yourself up to Van haven in Blandford Forum. And see the fantastic vans they are building

T6 or 6.1 either will do me. #1day 😊
Both are great vans, as is the T5 which some will argue is still the best 👍🏼
Is your puppy an f1 or f1b? Did you get her from a breeder?
She is an F1b. Got her from someone local. Mum’s had 2 litters and won’t be having anymore

🤣 I think after the first time of nearly hitting windscreen, your subconscious learns. Hope your enjoying it
