I think Shawn and Kenny's chemistry is so underrated and it is one of my favorite sibling relationships in the show

Kenny wasn’t even trying to fight them, he was trying to get past to help Shawn yet it took both Sam and Tory to stop him
Sam and Tory suck you even see Tory attempt a take down on Kenny at 2:23 and it fails miserably, both Miguel and Robby would have been able to stop Kenny single handedly yet it took Sam and Tory a combined effort
Shawn said himself they had open shots and wouldn’t take it. They both were ranked Top 4, doing better than even Eli did in the tag game. Johnny and Daniel both put Sam in their top 4, Johnny who specifically only ranks fighters based on fighting ability which included Kenny.

You can tell that they’ve raised the stakes and had a darker tone. I personally think it’s good but because we’re so used to it all being about external threats, we aren’t used to our characters fighting from within.
The fault is in the Sekkai Taikai, after Silver got arrested it was no more about beating the evil, it became for personal benefits of winning it. To say the least there’s a Miyagi seems to not like tournaments.
